Those Tri-Five shivvies make good looking race cars. You're off to a great start! The only thing I would say is, maybe strip the chrome off of the wheels as most of the cars just run a painted steel wheel. That chassis is a great fit. Can't wait to see more !

One thing I'd like to add is maybe fill in where the Headlight's go. And maybe a lil Wire Mesh Screen across the Driver's Area when you get to that point!

Keep up the Good Work!

  • I LOVE IT! A 55 chevy is one of my all time favorite race cars and street cars too. I wish I still had my real one I built years ago. Yours is looking great and reminds me of some of the ones built and driven by a friend of mine. Not long ago he had six 55 chevy race cars at one time along with several chevelles , a few monte carlos and a nova. Here's a few pics of one of the 55's when it was at the body shop where I was working at the time. It's pretty much like your model, original body on a recycled cup chassis.

Hot Rod,
No modifications at all to the chassis. The wheel base on the chassis was 3/16 in. shorter than the 55 body but, by the time the fender wells were radiused the difference wasn't noticable. This is one project that I'm really getting in to building after 20 years of straight line builds. As a matter on fact I"m looking at 2 more short trackers to build from kits that have been sitting around for 20 or 30 years. Glad you guy's like what I've done so far. More to follow !!!
