JALOPY TIME

Well Guys, The building seems to have gone Quite around here so whos up for a Jalopy build !!! Paul..

I'm having "trouble" just getting the Old Super Mod (SKEETER) finished.......... BUT, always "game" to "get another one started"!!!!!!!!!!

What PAUL is talking about, would be the type of "pre-modifieds" that ran back in the 50's, and into the EARLY 60's. One of the "sites" that has THOUSANDS of pictures that you can look at (to get ideas) is the CALIFORNIA JALOPY ASSN.

Thanks DJ, Mate thats what im talking about so dont stress guys its about having fun & we finish when were done so plenty of build time just keep posting pics to keep everyone building & my only two rules to the whole build is have fun & Flatheads & inliners forever. So lets see some great builds heavy on the dents & dings,weatherin & lots a rusty stuff & a lot of laughs along the way. Paul....

im glad i decided to go for the flatty and im almost at the painting stage pics maybe tommarow its turning out realy well im happy with it i think ill need to invest in a resin site below for some wheels

Well Guys this looks like a good start so get building, Heres my first one its been on the bench for awhile now so get that out the way first & next one will be a 5w 32 coupe ! Paul..

I might play, too. Got a couple of flatties layin around and a couple of old coupes. Maybe I'll see what I can come up with.

My kinda stuff !!! Put me in coach ! I need one of these. I'll have to go diggin' in my bone yard and see what kind of stuff I can find for resurection. Afterall, isn't that how it was done in the day ??? I'll post a pic later today of what I come up with.

I have a lot of reference materials on jalopy's and would be glad to share. DJ mentioned the website for the California Jalopy Association. I was talking to Tom Luce last week, the guy who hosts the site plus published a book with 1500 photos, and he said that the site will be going down soon.Catch it while you can.

Just came back from the dungeon. What I dug up in the bone yard would take way too much time in the tank. What I did find in my stash was this ..............



Now I just have to decide what to do with it.

Yo Mo !! Dick Tracy is a '36 Ford - 5wnd. coupe. Here's what I mocked up today. I even cut the roof section out. '36 was the last year for soft roof inserts. Tooling for dies got bigger and better for '37.

I had this one almost finished when Paul suggested the jalopy build. Saw this car in the jalopy book, just guessed the colors.

Thanks Paul, but I'm off and running in a little different direction. I'm goin, for a phantom car with a higher look of having a sponsor. You know, the local "Big Boy in Town Look" ! With any luck, I may post a pic later.
