Twilight Series vs. Harry potter!, which one is better?

I personally like twilight better! I used to b a harry potter addict tho! What does everyone else like?

Hmm. Well, it kinda depends on what you're judging them on. As far as writing style, I definitely prefer Twilight. Meyer's writing style is so fresh, interesting, vivid... very good stuff :D As for plot, I think Harry Potter wins. The Twilight series had some good plot twists and turns, although some were rather predictable. And in Harry Potter, sure, there were lots of cliches, but the sheer vastness of her world, and her characters... it's great.

In the end, I'd pick Harry Potter. I love Twilight, but it just doesn't have the magic that HP does :P

Hard one! I love HP and recently i start reading the twilight series and loved it. Edward is great!

But i dont think you can compare the two series. HP was one generation book, but JK doesnt know how to write romance, she doesnt work with the caracthers as mutch as she could. so i would say it would be 60% vc 40%, wins Twilight XD

I've only read "Twilight," though I'm going to read "New Moon" soon. I don't know if I'd be able to pick, though. I think they're about equal. But that's just me.

I like Twilight better.

i used to definately think harry potter was the best thing ever! but as u grow older...i feel that twilight appeals more to me!

TWILIGHT IS A DEFINITE!! harry potter just doesn't stand a chance. twilight has the ROMANCE, the SEXY VAMPIRE/WEREWOLVES, and the touch of modern life. twilight is definitely the best. AND...the main character has a low chance of death =] which makes it better =]

Well i think they are completely different types of books. Twilight has more romance and is more realistic (not a completely magical and fictional word), while HP has less love :cry: and more action? So, I can't really decide....Hmm... :kawaii:

at the moment i definitely like twilight series more probably bcos i am really into the romance genre right now and harry potter ... dunno i just dont like it as much as i used to

hmm... toughy... I just recently finished eclipse.. and the rest of te twilight series about a week ago.. And i used to be a huge Harry Potter fan.. huge meaning obessed... but i think that Twilight has a better writting style an dyou seem to be able to contect with the characters better.. bella reminds me of me.. very clumzy and fairly shy but not that shy.. yeah.. anyway.. i think i would have to excape the world of Harry Potter and pick Twilight.

I've only read Twilight out of the series. When I first finished I adored it but then I realised the main couple's attraction seemed superficial. Edward is mostly described in terms of his appearance and his personality only touched upon briefly as if to make clear that Bella didn't just like him for his appearance.

It's still a good book but the HP series plot is so deep and so complex. The last book was amazing and is one of the biggest reasons as to why I'm voting HP over Twilight.

But of course, I still haven't finished the series so my judgement is not totally accurate!

I don't really think you can compare the two. They're both fantasy and suggest that vampires are real, sure, but apart from that they're worlds apart. The audience purpose of the books in general are too different to really classify them as the same and compare them as such.

That said, if the criteria of comparison is simply personal preference based on any personal criteria at all...then my vote goes for Harry Potter. my reasoning is the same is Chibified Eyes...Twilight seemed too superficial to me and in comparison, for me at least, Harry Potter simply shines in its depth and character development.

I love both series in their own way. Meyer writes better, but I believe Rowlling deserves all the credit for making kids read for the past ten years. But Twilight has Edward... :crush: So difficult to choose...

hmmmm i think twilight is a bit too easy to read, harry potter was much more elaborated, the sentences were long and complicated and there were many vocabularies, every sentence in twilight sounds alike,( and after reading each book four times it's really annoying) and yet it beats harry potter completly, i've never read a book with so interesting characters and a plot that keeps you in your chair until you finished the whole book. ^^ and that's incredible, it's really hard too describe feelings and relationships with just a few words, and i admire her for doing it so perfectly! harry potter was nice, but twilight is the best!!! :thumbsup:

i like Twilight better as i read of it more than Harry Potter...
