I'm sure some of you must be familiar with Omegle, likely the same way I am - posts on Art of Trolling.

Using the site's new ability to pose a question to two strangers I'm going to ask the following question - "Who would win in a fight - Batman or Theodore Roosevelt? Defend your answer."

I'm going to take at least 100 samples and then review the results.

This thread will be periodically updated with progress and conversation transcripts I deem noteworthy.

Ah!

That is a trick question, but I know the answer: Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis would be the winner of that match. No way Batman would beat a lady and...

What do you mean Teddy Roosevelt is not an alias for Jacqueline Keennedy ?

75 samples taken. Haven't analyzed the data yet.

Edit: Minutes later, 100 samples reached. Going to keep going. 100 now seems too small, given the extraordinary number of samples which are simply one of the strangers disconnecting before any answer can be given.

150 samples taken. I'll work with this.

Using omegle.com's feature allowing someone to pose a question to two anonymous strangers I asked the following - “Who would win in a fight - Batman or Theodore Roosevelt? Defend your answer.” - and recorded the results of 150 chat samples.

Nearly 60% of the time no responses were received. When one participant disconnects from the chat it prevents the other from typing anything further. In the 89 out of 150 samples this occurred, usually within a few seconds. Frequently one participant was in the process of typing a response when the chat was disconnected by the other participant. For the purposes of analyzing the responses these 89 samples have been culled. All further percentages given do not take into account these removed samples.

This leaves 61 chats where one or both participants gave an answer. Of these, 109 responses were received (out of a possible 122). These responses were divided into the following:

Batman: 44 (~40%)
Theodore Roosevelt: 29 (~27%)
Non-Answer: 36 (~33%)

A “Non-Answer” is defined as any response other than the options given. The non-answers were divided into the following:

“Me”: 18
Chuck Norris: 6
Your mum: 1
Neither: 1
Both: 1
Phishing Scam Link: 1
A poop joke: 1
Voldemort: 1
“Him”, referring to other participant saying “Me”: 1
ASCII Captain Picard facepalm: 1
tldr: 1
Hitler: 1
Gaddafi: 1
“Derp”: 1

So among the random omegle users sampled the clear plurality was Batman with around 40% selection. Non-answers were the second most frequent selection, followed by Theodore Roosevelt. If one separates the non-answers by type then the second most selected answer overall becomes Theodore Roosevelt followed by “me” and then Chuck Norris with the other non-answers tied for fifth.

No detailed records were taken of the reasons given for the answers as most users gave no reasoning. However, the most frequent reasons for picking Batman were because of the Batmobile and perceived opinions of his 'coolness'. Users who selected Roosevelt most cited his being an actual person and his hunting of bears along with the occasionally invoked double-entendre involving a 'big stick'.

Bow

I must, however, voice my disagreement with the results. It's quite obvious to me that Theodore would pummel Batman to a liquidy paste with his trust busting fists.

I'd say it would depend on a couple of factors. Who had the element of surprise? Does Batman get all his gadgets? Weapons? Also is it a fight to the death or just until one of the two surrenders?

surrender or death, whichever came first, i would imagine. in which case i think teddy must win, because he would never surrender and batman wouldnt kill him, no matter how well he might be doing.

If it was a fight to the death Teddy would probably win, but Batman has probably learned many ways to incapacitate someone to the point of surrender or to where they couldn't fight anymore.

In an amazing coincidence the episode of Deadliest Warrior this week pitted Theodore Roosevelt against T.E. Lawrence.

Not going to spoil it if anyone was interested in watching it.

Because he's Batman.
