I'm actually breaking my rule about not preordering games for this, something I have not done in years. I dare say come Nov 3rd, this will consume my life.

i have absolutely no idea what that game is about, but if teh trailer is any idication, itll be balls-to -the-wall awesome

The trailer is a good indication of what you are getting into. It's a new RPG from the guys who made the original Baldur's Gate PC game. They've set it up that when you create your character it changes pretty much the entire plot of the game depending on race, class and your back story... Of which there are six. Every review I've read says the game takes at least 40 hours if you are running through avoiding side quests... Plus you can piss off party members and kill them if you decided to be a heartless bastard.

In other words, this is the game of my dreams. This is pretty much everything, EVERYTHING I could ask for in a game. And considering that it's Bioware who made it (Makers of Neverwinter Nights, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Jade Empire and Mass Effect) they've got the track record to prove that they've done everything they claim they've done with the game.

PS3/360/PC all will get copies.

I think the PS3 version is hitting in the middle of next month though.

hmm, well, this just increases my desire for a ps3. i dont like playing on a pc too much, and xbox is jam packed with games that i dont want to olay, and irritating teenagers against whom i dont want to play

I'll add that to my Christmas list then. Flashpoint 2 arrived today, along with the new Pratchett and a bunch of CD's so can't really afford to get another game right now.

Yes, PSN is free, but there is no online play in this game.

online play was never really important to me. plus, games the have online multiplay, but not offline multiplay are kinda screwing the people, forcing you to buy 4 copies to play with 4 people, as opposed to smash bros or something where 1 copy is good for 4 people

It means you don't need a massive TV though...

Haven#t gone online on F2 yet but it's meant to be good.

Just got an in-depth look at the character creator (you can download it on Bioware's site). I'm even more excited than I was.

now if only i had a ps3 i could request this for liek christmas or something

Hmm... don't think I can get this for Christmas. I'd have to relegate Assassins Creed 2 to make room for it in the budget.

Hmm. When I saw EA had a hand in it I was worried, but Bioware do have a good track record. May have to get this for PC.

Is it just me or do games designers go to a lot more lengths advertising wise nowadays?

It's harder to sell games when economies are bad and you raised the damn price by ten dollars.

Then use less advertising and make it cheaper.

For example if Coca Cola didn't advertise they could make their product about ten percent cheaper. Which would you buy - Pepsi for a buck, or Coke for 90 cents?

Market standard. Games go for $60 then everyone plays by the rules unless the game (a) sucks, ( is of lower quality graphics than expected for current standards or © is older.

All companies play by the rules, even if said rules suck.
