--- GENERAL INFORMATION ---
Name: Rebecca Brent Nickname(s): Becca, Becky Gender Female Age: 16 Birthday: February 18th Place of Origin: Canadian living in Malaysia Year at School: Year 11
Voice: Her voice is a steady and feminine alto. She speaks very clearly in a North American accent without over pronouncing, and some have said that she is a pleasure to listen to. Her smile can be heard when she talks, but she still sounds very professional even when she’s just with friends.
Physical Description: Rebecca is a petite girl with a child-like face. Her huge, round, ever-changing eyes give her a look of innocence, and her smile is that of a 10-year-old’s. Her skin is quite pale, but healthy, and her build makes her look even younger.
Rebecca’s hair is dark brown without any highlights. It’s got a very pretty wave to it, and usually she’s wearing it down, but she is known to put it up in a ponytail every once in a while. She takes very good care of it but doesn’t obsess.
Rebecca’s form is very petite. She has thin shoulders and thin hips and overall she’s simply very thin. She’s a slightly short height at 5’3” (160 cm), but her legs are quite long and so her torso is short. She usually wears very comfortable clothes – most often a t-shirt and jeans, but she can dress up for any occasion and look good.
Personality: Rebecca is very lighthearted – in fact, some would say she’s downright flighty. She’s quite naďve and her mood will change at the drop of a hat. Unfortunately this can get on the nerves of some people, but she is a pure soul and means well.
When she’s happy, Rebecca is bubbly and outgoing. Her smile stretches from ear to ear and she hates to see other people sad. She doesn’t go so far as to be obnoxious, but she can be quite vocal when in this mood. This mood doesn’t always mean that she has a lot of energy, but in extreme cases there can be a lot of movement involved. This mood can be caused by anything positive happening, most likely involving her but if something really good happens to a friend, she will be genuinely happy for them as well.
The next most common mood she has is her worrying mood. Whenever she feels as if she has done or said something wrong, she immediately starts worrying over it. Usually this involves a lot of babbling on her part and she is likely to flood anyone else with questions such as “what do you think I should do?” or “do you think they’re mad at me?” She just needs someone to reassure her and she’ll calm down, but she won’t stop worrying completely until she knows that other person isn’t upset.
Rebecca will also get sad when bad things happen, but most of the time when she’s upset she will just stay silent and probably lock herself in her room all day until she’s cried her way out of it. If anyone tries to console her she usually tells them to go away, but what she really needs is someone to get her to open up. Rebecca thrives on communication with other people, and her being alone when she’s upset simply isn’t healthy.
Rebecca hardly ever gets angry, but when she does, she gets irrational. In this mood, there are a lot of crossed arms and furrowed eyebrows involved, and she is very capable of hurting someone. This is the only time at which Rebecca really needs to be left alone until the mood has passed.
History: Rebecca was born in Ottawa, Ontario, the capital of Canada. From a very young age the fact that her father was a mutant was common knowledge inside of the family and to the closest of family friends, but she was warned never to talk of it at school or at any other time with her friends.
Her brothers were always protective over, especially the oldest, John. He was five years older than her, so he never teased her and he always kept a close watch on the people around her to make sure that she was safe. Her other brother, David, was more of the sibling type, but her recognized her gentle nature and so didn’t tease her much either. The three of them had a very special relationship, much closer than your average siblings would be. John took to looking after David and Rebecca when their parents were out, and they became quite self-sufficient.
John’s powers manifested when he was twelve and Rebecca was seven. A group of boys from school were threatening David in the park and John found them on his way home. As if he had been doing it for years, he created a ball of fire in his hands and threatened the boys with it, and it scared them away. He shocked both himself and David, and they rushed home to tell their parents. Rebecca, being young at the time, didn’t really understand what a big deal being a mutant was, but she soon saw it’s importance when John began to be shunned from his community and eventually had to be sent away to a mutant-friendly school in British Columbia. She was afraid that either she or David would become a mutant and receive the same treatment and expressed her thoughts to her mother, who reassured her that being a mutant was a gift, and that John would one day see that and so would David and she if they were blessed with it too.
It was revealed that David was not a mutant. He had never said anything about his feelings on becoming a mutant, but Rebecca saw that he was a little disappointed by it. When she was twelve, her father took a piloting job in Malaysia, and it was required that the whole family move there if they still wanted to see him regularly. Neither Rebecca nor David had any close relationships in Ottawa – mostly because they were the younger siblings of a mutant – so they didn’t mind going that much.
At age thirteen, Rebecca discovered that she was a mutant and that she could manipulate temperature. She continued going to school in Malaysia for a couple years, keeping her mutation from everyone but her best friend until her mother discovered a school down south in Australia that was especially for mutants. Her father had picked up the information on one of his trips there and had strongly recommended that Rebecca go there, having never had the chance to go to a Mutant School himself. Rebecca is now sixteen at the beginning of a new school year at SCI.
Family: Father – Gregory, 53; a mutant living in Malaysia, working as a pilot. His mutation is his amazing mathematical and logic skills, but most people aren’t aware of this and just think that he is brilliant and/or has memorized every manual there is. Mother – Emily, 52; a human living in Malaysia with her husband. She does not work. Although she loves all of her children equally, she has a special connection with David, whereas John and Rebecca are closer to their father. Brother – John, 21; a mutant living in Canada. He’s a member of a small task force of mutants employed to keep the peace between mutants. He sends letters back and forth with Rebecca after learning of her mutation. He himself is a pyrokinetic. Brother – David, 18; a human still living with his parents in Malaysia, soon to move back to Canada with John.
The family has proven to be very protective of each other as a whole, and are sometimes jokingly referred to (by themselves and close friends) as “The Tribe.” They stand strongly together on any issue that either insults or damages any number of the members.
Strengths/Skills: Rebecca has a beautiful singing voice, and likes to perform. She’s very confident when doing anything in front of an audience. Weaknesses/Faults: Her moods change quickly and sometimes without warning. Other than that, she has very poor aim and would be hardly danger with a gun in her hands. She also has an incredible weakness for chocolate and sweets, and if anyone would want to bribe her, that would be the way to do it.
