Rules Of The Refuge
General Rules
1. Respect all members and staff. Be polite! No one likes being made fun of, so be respectful. No flaming, racism (ooc), religious slurs, keep cursing to a minimum OOC, etc.
2. No spam/advertising, please. Spam is defined as Short Pointless Annoying Messages, and includes very off topic discussion, advertising outside of the advertising section, excessive OOC chatting in the IC forums. PM advertising is also not allowed in any way, shape, or form. If in doubt, ask a staffie and we'll tell you if what's going on is fine.
3. This forum is rated PG- 13. So please, no sexually explicit material of any kind. This includes pornography, erotic scenes (innuendo is fine, but please blackout if it gets that far.), etc. And watch your language, of course. Nothing excessive. If you need to take a thread beyond pg-13, please mark it in the title, like this:
"[R] titleblahblah"
4. Please refrain from double-posting excessively. Occasionally, a double post might be needed to draw attention to an update to a stale topic, but other than this, please use the edit button. This rule excludes the documentation forum and graphics/writing forums if you are adding another piece to your thread.
5. Do not plagiarize. Not only does it make you look like an unoriginal fool in the first place, but it is also extremely rude and will not be tolerated here. If we find out you have plagiarized, we will ban you with no second chance. This is your only warning. If you feel you have been plagiarized or stolen from, please let Rosalieart know and we will do everything we can to help you.
6. Please refrain from chatspeak. Use proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation everywhere, please. Capitalization, we can understand not using OOC, but please refrain from ```psts 7h@7 l00k l1k3 7h15 && bby!'':
Roleplay Rules
1. We encourage you to write at least a paragraph per post. This gives the other person more to reply to, and can create a better story, all told, though it may not always be appropriate to write an entire paragraph per post, and we bear that in mind here; quality over quantity. Stop when it feels right to stop.
2. Do not break character IC, please. Remember to separate OOC and IC interactions. This includes metagaming. You do not know what another person is thinking or about to do unless it is made obvious, so the same with your characters. Make sure your character fits the thread- for example, do not use a cyborg in a real life roleplay, or a happy-rainbows-tooth-fairy-princess in a highschool rp unless it's halloween. ;D
3. No godmoding/powerplaying without the permission of everyone involved in the thread. Enough said, I think.
4. Try to refrain from making or playing Mary Sues/Gary Stus. If in doubt, try these links.
1 and
2.
5. HAVE FUN!C-box Rules
1. All site rules apply.2. Do not harass other members/staff or otherwise cause problems. If you have a problem with another member, contact an admin. Do not flame, argue, etc.
3. Double posting is permitted. But flooding the c-box with multiple short messages that do not contribute to the conversation are not, because then it becomes spam.
