First of all, if anybody thinks of one I have missed (I won't get them all straight away), PM them to me.
Godmoding- Highly frowned upon. This means that in your IC post, you control another player's character, which is very bad.
Powerplay- Highly frowned upon. This means that in your IC post, your character is super powerful/cannot be hurt/hurt badly, etc.
Metagaming- Highly frowned upon. Bringing OOC information into an IC situation, like a character's thoughts/feelings, or something a person says OOC.
RR or RPR- Roleplay Refuge. The site that you're on now!
PM- Private/personal Message. Like an e-mail that is only on this website.
POV- Point Of View, as in your character's perspective, or the different 'person's. I.E. 1st Person POV uses 'I' and 3rd Person POV uses 'he/she'
Admin- Administrator. Runs the website. A variant of this is Root Admin, or the creator. This person has the final say, though usually only after consulting other admins. Your root admin is Rosalieart.
Mod- Moderator. Helps to keep things clean and correct posts, etc., if necessary. Sort of an aid to the admins.
Staff- Admins and mods.
OOC:- The following is mentioned Out Of Character. This is for something that needs/wants to be said, but isn't a part of the roleplay/story in progress. It is usually placed withing double parentheses, I.E. ((OOC: I am out of character.)) or simply, ((i am out of character))
IC: / BIC:- The following is said In Character / Back In Character. For when you are roleplaying. This is only needed to be put after having an OOC moment.
Admin CP/Mod CP/My Controls- The Control Panel for an admin, mod or ordinary member. Most people will only have the My Controls, mods will also have the Mod CP and admins will have all three. The My Controls allows you to edit your profile, including signature and avatar.
Sig / Siggy / Siggie- Signature. this will appear at the bottom of all your posts, should you choose to have one. There is a setting to switch this function off, so that you don't see anybody's signature.
Avvie / Av- Avatar. The picture to the left of your posts. You don't start offf with one, but can easily upload one or use a free one already on the site.
RP- Roleplay. This is what you are meant to do. It is similar to improvisational drama. Basically, being IC or the whole thread.
MMORPG- Mass Multi-Player Online RolePlaying Game. It's not often used on here, but there has been some speak about them.
NPC- Non-Player Character. These are the characters that help you along the way somehow, whether giving information or providing a key skill. They are the characters usually controlled by the GM, but sometimes are allowed to be used by the other people. Inactive users' characters become NPCs and thusly leave the group soon in most cases.
PC- Player Character. The character that you are. It isn't you, it's the person/thing that you're pretending to be.
GM- Game Master. The creator of the roleplay. What they say, goes. They created the setting and the plotline, they define the rules (that aren't included in the site ones) for the roleplay. Listen to them. You can suggest, but don't tell them what to do with their world.
Sign Off- What the staff do when they edit something. For example, I always use blue font and underline it, putting "- The Weird One." at the end of an edit. Rosalieart usually signs off as "-Anne".
Username- The name of your account. Usually what people refer to you as, but on here, we quite often use our actual names because we are a close-knit community.
Crit- This stands for critique, which means the poster wants you to give constructive suggestions and help. If they added the word 'harsh' they want you to be specific and nitpick everything.
Member Groups:Banned - Lowest, someone who has gotten themselves past warning and suspension and banned. They are not permitted to use the forum and are prevented from even viewing it. This, you do not want to be.
Member - Normal members, have all member rights, no extra controls, the basis of the forum and the reason it exists.
Moderator - Someone who helps the site run smoothly by helping us with rules, spam, unruly members, or helps with advertising/affiliating, etc.
Admin - Root admins, founders of the site, if you want something directly changed or if you have a problem with the site or another member, contact one of us.
