Corja smirked.

"Oh, don't worry about offending me, Master Lotitichow," she purred in a dark voice that held bitterness in it, "Treachery and secret discussions about others in alliance with them is what Sith do as a pastime. It's nothing new to me. I didn't expect this of Jedi, however. I guess it's something that comes with any group of people, from petty cliques to grand organizations such as this. How disappointing."

She rose.

"Let's step outside, Josav, so they may continue their judgment."

Her pilot rose wordlessly and they left the room swiftly.

Corja paced the hall. She truly was offended. Damn that grey Jedi, just who did he think he was?? She seethed. Every word she said was true, for a change. She really hadn't expected such insult from the Jedi at all. Apparently the Sith and the Jedi weren't all that different after all. They were both two-faced and not worth working with. Well, once she shook down the Jedi, maybe she could give shaking down the Sith a try, too. She could take over and then things would be right. For her, at least. Letting her back rest against the wall, she slowly slid down to sit on the floor, waiting her time out impatiently.

The Jedi watched her go uneasily.

"What is it?" Windu asked, knowing this must be a confirmation of his skepticism.

Lotitichow had been near dumbfounded at the sheer swiftness of retort that Corja had given. He found himself and stumbled over his flapping tongue to begin with, Em-Tee-Dee not translating the stutter.

"I merely wished to know if Corja was to be treated as a padawan, a knight or of equal rank, council members. As a sentient being, I treat them all alike, but I would teach a padawan and co-learn with a master. I will give her my apologies and an explanation when I leave. Sorry masters for not having thought through what I have said, I was trying to avoid insult," he said, calmly as he could muster.

He waited for the response, wishing to leave the distrust of the council and to attempt to straighten out the fresh disdain he had received from Corja. It was going to be a very long assignment, indeed.

Windu thought.

"She's not a child and she certainly isn't lacking in experience with the Force," he replied, thinking carefully on each word, "What she needs isn't teaching in how to be a Jedi Knight. She needs teaching in how to view the universe as we do--and maybe blunt that sharp tongue of hers. Think of this as an opportunity to experiment in a brave attempt at reform. If this works, it could open doors to us."

Yoda's eyes were boring into Lotitichow, every wrinkle in his face telling him that he mustn't give up on this mission just because things were a little uncomfortable.

Outisde, Corja tapped her foot. She sat in a very male-like position, her knees apart, and bent to the height of her chest, her forearms resting upon them. The back of her head rested against the wall. She really resented this assignment. Even striking deals with Ryloth on splitting some of the money they make from selling Ryll would have been preferable, though the last thing she wanted to be reduced to was a drug-trafficker. She sighed and closed her eyes, amusing herself with humming out some tune or other she remembered hearing as a child on her home planet. As her kind couldn't see, there was nothing in the way of visual entertainment, so there was much music. She sighed, wondering just where she went wrong, why she turned to the Sith of all things. Oh well, no sense crying over spilt lomin-ale.

((And yes, these are actual terms from Star Wars. Yes, I did look them up. XDDDDD I'm that much of a dork.))

((OOC: That's not dorky, that's good GMing. What's dorky is that I already knew them, lol biggrin.gif ))

"Of course Master Windu," Lotitichow began. "I did not intend my meaning to be as teaching her the techniques of using the Force, but more the applications of it and more... appropriate behaviour. I shall endeavour to complete this task with utmost diligence. I shall not give up. The plausible consequences are too catastrophic to contemplate."

He turned to Master Yoda, his face lacking any offence at the implication that he may quit. "I shall not leave the task at hand any more than I would another case. In fact, less so, Master Yoda."

In a more general approach to the council, he added, "Is there anything further that needs discussing council masters? Or should I set my focuses on the reformation of Jedi Corja during our mission of salvation for Naboo?"

(Oh wow. xD See, I'm sure my bro knew those. He's the one who got me hooked on them when I was little. I blame him for the fact that I'm the weirdest person at school. sleep.gif' Could've been a normal girl, all into Barbie and My Little Pony, but noooo... Mom just had to have two boys before me....)

Windu nodded sagely.

"I'm glad to hear your devotion," he said for the sake of being polite. "No, I believe that's all. Just bring Queen Amidala back to the Jedi Council where she will be safe once you have found her. Other than that, keep a close eye on Corja. We have reason to believe that the Sith have ties with the Federation."

((OOC: There's NOTHING "normal" about that ;P ))

Lotitichow bowed and exited, stepping towards Corja. Em-Tee-Dee translated in a slightly less gruff manner than his words had been, but said, "I was asking what rank you were to be given within the Jedi Order, Mistress Corja. I hope your offence has dissipated. We are to leave for Naboo now, if you follow me we'll go to the hangar and requisition a ships and hyper-rings." When he finished he waited a second then turned and strode towards the hangar. He tried to walk slowly, his great height making him walk faster than the average sized humanoids.

((It is here. O.o))

"Of course, Master Lotitichow" she said, her tone smooth as silk. As he began to walk away, she snapped her fingers at her pilot and he grabbed her hand and helped her up wordlessly. "Thank you."

She followed him at an easy pace, not falling behind at all. She had always been a fast walker.

Lotitichow noticed that she seemed able to keep pace with ease and began to walk at a more natural speed, feeling his entire body relax slightly as he did so. He wouldn't entirely let his guard down though, he still didn't have a complete trust for this woman.

He decided to take the most direct route, debating with himself about touring her around the Temple. He settled that it could be better if she didn't know the exact layout and they had this mission with which they desperately needed to attend to. He requisitioned a ship and orbital hyperring for himself, requesting the same astromech droid and vessel as his previous mission: he preferred to stick with what felt familiar.

He expected the woman to have brought her own ship since she had a minion in tow and had apparently turned herself in. He set his droid to work on the hyperspace calculations.

"Mistress Corja, do you wish to share astral arrangement information? The Jedi Archives are a great help for voiding irregularities and gravitic anomalies," he said after some time. The silence hadn't felt comfortable for him and he knew that meant that she discomforted him.

He paused momentarily before adding, "Ordinarily we would attend a briefing session, but I shall have the brief sent to us during flight. We need to get to Naboo as swiftly as we can, after all."

He quickly inspected his ship, partly using the force to help detect any problems his naked eyes would have struggled to see and found nothing of worry. "Is there anything you need or wish to do before we leave?"

She smirked. She realized most of his unusual amount of talking was due to feeling uncomfortable. Good. She would hate for him to think she wasn't a threat. It seemed he wasn't used to people, either. At least his poor social skills would amuse her.

"Of course," she replied to his question, her tone polite as ever but implying that the answer should have been obvious, "And I'm not sure I fully understand what we're going to be doing on Naboo. What does our job entail here?"

She raised an eyebrow and crossed her arms. Her weight shifted to one side, she was the epitome of cockiness and sassiness.

"Well, yeah," she replied, her voice blunt and obviously amused, "I don't think I'll do a very good job at fending off the Federation without my lightsaber."

Oh God, this was going to be one hell of a day.

Lotitichow responded, obliviously, "If you'd like to have your friend bring your nav-computer or astro droid over, R4 here will interface and send it to you. As for our mission, we are to alleviate the tension upon Queen Padme Amidala of Naboo from a Trade Federation threat. More information shall be in the briefing to be read during the hours of hyperspace travel we have ahead of us."

He turned from the obvious disregard for authority and typed in a few more things on the computer that R4 was plugged into. He looked at when she responded. "Do you recall or have a description of whom took your blade? It may not have yet been handed in." He paused looking into her eyes and decided that he should guide her away from the Dark Side if he could. "Do not forget though, that a Jedi does not resort to violence unless it is in self defence or defence of another. There are many other ways of dealing with problems or avoiding them and several force talents and skills that can be used in this manner as well."

He felt he had said enough to sound like he was gently reminding her of a lesson she should have learnt as a padawan, rather than reprimanding her. But with temper flares like hers, it would be difficult to tell how much he could say before the anger struck.

"I see," she replied, pondering.

The Trade Federation were allies of the Sith. She'd have to send word ahead somehow, but in what way could she separate herself from this Jedi long enough to relay warning in time for them? The Federation would have to know she was going under the pretense of being a reformed Jedi, that way she could have them fake a loss and have her looking like a heroine. The wheels were turning as she plotted out her scheme.

"It was one of the Jedi who guard the hangar. Tall, a Ryloth, I think. He was blue-skinned, of course," she attempted to remember. She had paid very little attention to him. He had been of little importance to her.

Corja listened to his preaching with a facial expression that clearly said she thought his mentor-like monologue was cute and she was merely humoring him by listening.

"There are different interpretations on what is self-defense and what is the defense of others as opposed to outright hostility and violence," she replied, her voice a low purr, "Remember that, Master Lotitichow. Now if you would be so kind as to help me find my saber, we could be on our way and become that much closer to saving the dear Queen."

"Hopefully, we can extract her simply and the problems can be resolved with ease," Lotitichow replied. He looked at her and wondered what she was thinking, then decided it best not to ponder such a thing.

As she descirbed the Twi'lek, he nodded and then swiftyl typed a comm-byte into the datapad and sent it to have it brought to them, with a P.S. describing the blue-skin that had apprehended the item.

"It is good to see that you are aware that defence does not necessarily create aggression," the Wookiee replied, unaware that Corja may have been intending something more ambiguous. "You would do well to remember it as well, considering your... previous training." He had to pause to decide how to euphimise her past transgressions, whether by her hand or forced upon her. "I have had it requisitoned to be found and brought to us, until then we should make use of our time." He began to upload the briefing for the mission.

Corja smiled a very predatory grin. Oh, so he could play the bitchy mentor, too. This would be fun.

"Oh, believe me, I WILL remember," she assured. Whether she actually consented to abide by that knowledge was a completely different issue altogether.

Turning away from him, she began to help loading manually. She worked quietly, thinking all the while. She NEEDED to relay that message, preferably before they left. That would give them plenty of time to spread word. A thought, however cliche and possibly faulted it may be, struck her. Turning to him in what she hoped was a sort of embarrassed tone, she said,

"I'm sorry, but I think it'd be wise to take care of a few 'bodily functions' before we leave. Could you direct me to a bathroom?"

She really hoped this would work, otherwise, she wasn't too sure what she'd do.

"So be it," Lotitichow replied to her response. He too loaded the few items he needed for the journey, such as emergency rations, a small amount of food for the journey, the odd gadget he may need and so on and so forth.

He looked up, mildly astonished at the embarrassment, although it didn't even flicker onto his hairy face. "The restrooms are down the hall, turning left and they will be the," he paused to mentally count. "Fourth door on the right." He realised that it was indeed a wise idea to relieve himself since he had just been on a long flight and had another one ahead of him. He decided not to go at the same time as Corja to avoid her raising suspicions of his intent and thought it best to wait for her sabre.
