The suspension is a SOA from Rocky Road with 2" shackles for now. The stock springs are really tired. I plan on installing new 4" lift springs if possible with the SOA kit.
The tires are Mickey Thompson MTZ 38x 15.5" R15" on 15x 10" rims. The tire are actually 37". Mickey's are off by an inch on there tires for some reason.
The tires are rubbing really bad on the turns. I'm hoping the new springs will fix this problem. I had to install 3 spacers on the spare tire carrier to hold the spare. I have a kit coming to fix that.

Looks good. I doubt your tailgate is going to last too long with the weight of a 38" tire hanging off of the factory spare tire carrier. You must have had fun just trying to get it on the spare tire carrier. The Jeep is going to be real high with 4" lift springs set up SOA. You will end up with around 9" of lift. Do you plan on swapping out the Dana 35 rear for something a lot stronger to handle the 38's? I do like it, just wondering what you plan on upgrading to handle the 38's. You need to get a picture of it next to a stock height Renegade.

Yeah I'm worried about the tailgate not holding up. I wonder what my options are to make it stronger. I really don't plan on swapping out the dana 35 anytime soon. Since I do not go off road with it & drive it very gently. I hope it will last me for a while like this. I will try to post some pics next to a stock jeep at least to compare.

Cheers,

Bruce

Bestop makes a tire carrier that bolts to the tub for large tires. Here is a link to it on the 4wd.com site.

WOW I for see a new rear axle in your near future. Did you regear or are you just gonna hold off untill the axle goes?

It looks Fantastic! I know what you mean about the spare as well. I just put on 33's and as wobbly as my tailgate is now I am afraid to mount the 33" spare. I purchased one of those hinge reinforcement kits for mine a few months ago I just have not had time to put it on and test if it really works.

http://www.oly4x4.com/onepart.php?id=1136280 This is the one I have. I am hoping it will do the job. Let us know what you come up with.

Everything is still stock until it goes or I detect a problem. I now get 9 MPG!

I purchased a couple of different spare tire lift kits from Tomkin & Ebay. The spare fits perfect now.
The stock tire weighted 65lbs+-. This one is at 115lbs+-.
I went ahead and cut a piece of 2" pipe to slide over the ball tow hitch to support the weight & it works like a charm.
I need to save up $$$ for the better stuff down the road. This will work just fine for now.

No problems as of yet. I have a couple 10" woofers behind the back seat so no need to open the gate for anything.

You could do a 3" body lift with heavy duty bumpers.

The stock leafs are very tired. I'm going to go with some fiberglass leafs from flexa-form. It should bump it up a little.
