In the sewers of London live many creatures, ranging from curious yet civilized rodents, to vicious and hungry cats and dogs. Below are the whole range of species you may play in the Roleplay, a bit about them, typical personalities and what roles they usually play in society.
RATS Rats are large rodents, and also the most successful. They are the most numerous species in Ratropolis. They are bigger than mice, usually with black or brown fur, but pet rats have a larger variey of fur colours. They are omnivores and will eat almost anything. Although rats are usually labeled as "evil" in literature, they are really the exact opposite. They are just as intelligent as their mice cousins, and have just as wide a range of personalities. However, they are a bit more agressive, stronger and a lot quicker to anger than mice. They usually play leadership and lawkeeping positions in the city, as well as doing some technical jobs. They are also good sailors and used to the waterways through the city.
MICE Mice are small rodents which live right across the world. They are in the minority to rats in Ratropolis, but are slowly becoming a lot more numerous. They are, of course, smaller than rats, with a variety of fur colours and hair colours. They have a wide diet, being omnivores, but eat more of a vegetarian diet. Mice are certainly a lot more intelligent than humans believe. They have a very wide range of personalities, but are generally quite sensible (though excitable), clever, peaceful, good leaders and very loyal. They play a whole range of roles across Ratropolis, mostly as scientists and office workers. They tend to avoid trouble if they can.
HAMSTERS Hamsters are small rodents which are commonly kept as pets around the world. Most of the hamsters which live in Ratropolis either escaped from their cages and got lost, escaped from a laboratory or got flushed down the toilet by accident. They are the smallest rodents living in Ratropolis, with a range of species and fur colours, and have stumpy tails. Hamsters are also quite clever, but are also very nervous, cautious and superstitious. They play roles in mostly childcare and occasionally roles in science.
GERBILS Gerbils are small rodents, somewhere in between the size of mice and hamsters, which are also popular pets. Most of the gerbils which live in Ratropolis escaped from cages and got lost or got flushed down the toilet by accident. There are quite a few gerbils in Ratropolis, but they are more adjusted to arid climates. They have large, strong back legs and a long tail with a tuft on the end. Gerbils are some of the most lively inhabitants of the city. They are really little bundles of energy, extremely friendly and very athletic, but are gentle and hardy. They usually take up active jobs or performing jobs.
GUINEA PIGS* Guinea pigs are the largest - and least common - rodents found in Ratropolis. Due to the size of these rodents and the difficulty of them actually escaping or getting into the swers, they are quite rare. They are of quite a large, heavy build, large head, stout neck and no tail. They also spend a lot of time eating. Guinea pigs are stange rodents - they have a wise, lazy aura around them, yet are very strong and protective of friends and are tough fighters. They usually take up easy-going jobs, however.
FROGS Frogs are excitable amphibians which usually live on the outskirts of the city in larger areas of water. They have long hind legs, a short body, webbed fingers and toes, protruding eyes, no tails, clammy green skin. They move about by walking or hopping (usually in an overdramatic fashion) and eat a carniverous diet, usually made up of flies. Frogs are a real strange group of amphibians - they are athletic and very cunning, but aren't terribly bright and tend to over react. They make excellent spies and mercenaries, and are very loyal to their close relatives, toads.
TOADS Toads are large amphibians which are very similar to frogs, the only differences lying in their personalities and appearances. Toads are larger than frogs, usually with darker colouring and warty skin. They too feast on flies and other bugs and creepy crawlies. Toads are proud amphibians, who have a real lust for power. They are aristocratic and pompous, with a strong sense of duty and neatness, and are very intelligent and cunning, although quite lazy. They generally work in law or something to do with money.
LIZARDS Lizards are crafty little creatures, and are usually very secretive. They are cunning, athletic and very fierce.
STRAY CATS* The cats of the sewers have a wide range of personalities like mice, but are generally very intelligent and sly, as welll as very fierce - however, deep down, they are a little timid and cowardly.
STRAY DOGS* The dogs in the sewer are relatively dirty and lazy with a sharp temper, but very brave and courageous when they want to be.
*This animal is classified as rare. You will need to contact a moderator to roleplay one of these animals.
Other Creatures in the Sewers
There are, of course, other creatures in the sewers, however, they are NPCs - in other words, you can't have one of these as a character. However, they may be used in roleplays for the idea of pets or something similar.
