John F. Kennedy International Airport
Landing at JFK International, newest WCWF signee, Josh Acquin was looking to surprise long time friend and now, girlfriend of 7 months, Maria Giordano. She had no idea he was coming, and with her coming back to WCWF at the same time, he decided it would be a good surprise to pick her up himself. Walking to the rental car counter after getting his bags, Josh started to pull out his ID and credit card when the agent addressed him, "May I help you sir?"
He nodded, looking at the woman behind the counter as he said, "Yes, I have a car reservation under the name Acquin." The woman reached down and picked up a small stack of papers, handing them over to him, "Alright, that's no Problem I just need you to fill out this paper work, while I look up your reservation."
He let go of his bag and grabbed a nearby pen, filling out the paperwork, making sure to get the extra insurance which he always took while in New York City. Learning the hard way the first time that it's not the friendliest city in the world. Handing back over the items, he said, "Here you go."
The woman nodded and looked at her computer screen, typing some things in and reading the screen, "I see you have a reservation for an Economy Standard, but I am sorry that we have none of those at this time. What I am going to do is upgrade your car to our Luxury, because of the inconvience. There's a shuttle outside waiting to take you to the parking garage." Nodding a little Josh paid for his car and got the keys to the Cadillac DTS, heading outside with his bag in tow. "Thanks." Walking out to the shuttle, he gets onto it and rides it out to the rental lot. He finds the car, with no problems there looking it over making sure that it's what he expected. Yes an upgrade this surprise trip to see his Maria, already off to a good start. She is getting ready to come back to WCWF. Thinks she can pull a fast one on him. Nodding some as he looked at the car and mumbled, "Cool," to no one in particular.
As he's put his things into the back, and gets into the drivers seat, his cell phone starts to ring. He picks it up off the passenger seat and looks at the caller ID. It's Maria. He closes the car door and starts it so she can’t hear any of the noises outside, the airplanes coming and going. "Hey sweetheart how are you doing?"
She sighed on the other line, "Hey Babe, I am doing fine. Just wondering when are you coming to see me? I miss you. Vito can't be keeping you that busy." He snickered, he was right there in NYC, but lied to her anyways, "I'm going to try to see you sometime next week. I've been really busy the last couple weeks down here." He hears her sigh again, followed by, "But, I miss you though. My father's being unbearable this week."
"I miss you too. But I have to work here in Vegas, you know how it is." He glanced at his watch, it was rush hour. It would take him twice as long to get there, but his continued talking to her, listening as he said, "Do you want me to tell my dad about it to see if that will help your work load lightened?" He shook her head, "Nah, not right now, your father likes me, I know but I'm fine. I promise, I'll come see you just as soon as I can."
He can hear the depression in her voice, sighing as she said, "Alright.. I love you Joshua." He smiled, he loved hearing those words from her lips, and a thought came to mind as he said, "I love you too Ria.. Hey what are you doing tonight?" "Well I am planning on going to this one place called Abbocatto, it has great Italian food." Praying, he asked, "Are you going by yourself?" She laughed, "No silly I am going with Ryann. She's in town." "She flew in from North Carolina?"
"Yeah she flew in this morning." He silently thanked God that he'd only just gotten there. Ryann wouldn't have seen him, "So how did her flight go?" "She said she had no troubles at all and we set up dinner, just the girls. Jax is settling something back in LA." He glanced at his watch, "That's cool babe, but anyway I am going to let you go so you can get ready. What time is your dinner going to be?" "Umm, it'll be about 8 tonight." He smiled, "Alright I will call you after dinner, ok?" She agreed and they exchanged "I loves you's" and "Goodbyes" before hanging up the phone. Quickly, he dialed Ryann's number and waited for her to pick up the phone, "Hello?"
He smiled and breathed a sigh of relief that she answered, "Hey Ryann, it's Josh." "Ohh, hey Josh, how ya doin'?" He shrugged, "Not bad, I have a favor to ask of you." "Ok, lemme guess.. You're in town and want to take Maria out tonight? Which means, you've already talked to her and she told you about our plans?" He laughed out loud, there was no fooling Ryann. Nodding to himself, he said, "Yeah.. I'd like to be at the table since I'm here to surprise Maria and take her on a trip to Las Vegas. You have a problem with that?" "Nope, not at all. Better yet I'll just let you two have dinner. I'm sure I can find lots to shop for in the city before I head to Cleveland to meet up with my friends again." Josh was thankful that Maria's friend was so understanding. Sighing out some, he said, "Thank you Ryann. It'll mean alot to her." "Oh, I know. Have fun tonight, tell her hi for me and give her a hug for me as well." He nodded some and said goodbye, heading out to his hotel, to get ready to surprise his girlfriend.
Later that night
He pulled into Abbocatto right around 7:45, wearing a nice suit, a bouquet of red roses for Maria. Walking up to the hostess, he caught her attention and she smiled as she said, "May I help you sir?" He nodded some, and checked his watch as he said, "Yes, I'm meeting a friend, she has a reservation. I'm actually surprising her, and I wanted to get to the table before her." Starting to scan the list the woman asked, "What's the name?" He thought for a moment, "It should be under Maria Giordano." The hostess nodded and smiled as she found the name on the list, picking up two menu's and a wine list as she said, "Right this way, please."
She lead him to a table it the back private room. As usual having a girlfriend who’s father is a Godfather, and a celebrity herself, will do that. Before the woman walked away, Josh asked, "Please tell her that her friend is here but don’t tell her it is me." "Alright sir." She turned to leave the area, leaving Josh by himself in the private booth. The next few minutes seemed to last forever as he awaited his Italian Goddess. This was the first time he'd surprised her like this. He don’t know how she was going to respond.
Soon he saw the Hostess come back toward the room with Maria in tow. She smiled at the young man as she gestured towards the table and said, "Here we are Ma’am. Enjoy your stay." She smiled before she noticed him, but it wasn't long. Her eyes lit up as she saw Josh there instead of Ryann and she moved to the table quickly, rattling off in Italian because of her excitement, "Josh! Oh il mio dio! Ho pensato che foste occupato a Vegas?" He smiled and hugged her tightly as he stood up to meet her, "Well, I wanted to surprise you so I came all the way out here to see you and take you back to Vegas with me." She smiled as she nodded towards the roses, "Sapere che portandomi le rose lo inciterà a fare qualche cosa vogliate." She laughed, "Oh, non posso crederlo, sono neppure miei favoriti."
He grinned and nodded, looking over the roses as he said, "Yes I know what you like sweetheart." He softly laughed at her as she kept talking, "Sono spostato che siete venuto a vederli. Quando stiamo andando a Vegas?" He laughed, having her sit down as he said, "We'll be heading out tomorrow. Now I need you to calm down I don’t speak fluent Italian. It's all I can do to keep up with you." She blushed a little and tucked her hair behind her ear as she sat down across from him, "I'm sorry. You know how I get when I see you." He smiled and nodded some, "I know. Anyways, we'll be heading out tomorrow. First class to Vegas, before we have to be in Cleveland. I know you're going back to the WCWF this week."
"So is that what this trip is for?" She was curious, looking back at him, watching him smile slyly, "Can’t a boyfriend surprise his girl and take her to Vegas for the week?" She grinned, "Joshua you know you're basically the first really, really serious boyfriend I've had because I just don't seem to have the greatest luck. The last 7 months have been heaven and my father really likes you." He nodded, "I know. I work for the man. I'm glad that we met and were allowed the chance to get to know each other, because you are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen."
"Sapere spingere i miei tasti appena nel giusto senso. Non posso attendere per ottenere indietro a quell'hotel con voi." He grinned and leaned towards her, saying in a soft voice, "You know what that does to me Maria?" She nodded and grinned as she leaned forward to him, feeling his lips on hers as the waiter walked to their table, clearing his throat for a moment before apologizing, "Excuse me, I will give you two a little more time." Josh shook his head, calling the man back, "No no, it's ok. We'll take two orders of ricotta gnudi." He nodded, "It'll be out right away."
When he walked away, she looked over at him, "How did you know what I wanted?" He smirked some, "I always know." She laughed and shook her head. Changing the subject, she asked, "Where are you staying tonight?" "I'm staying at The Carlyle." She nodded, "Well, I was gonna hit Ryann's hotel after this anyways, so I have my suitcase in my car, and that’s not that far from where I was gonna go anyways. Since we need to catch a flight I think I'll stay with you tonight. If you don't mind. You got a big bed?" He smirked and whispered to her as their food comes and is sat down in front of them, "Of course it's huge. I got the Deluxe room with a king bed."

The Carlyle
BUZZZZZZZZZZZ
"No I don’t want to wake up." He reached over to turn the alarm off as Maria rolled over and wrapped her slender arm around him, "Morning honey." She ran her arm over his body, holding him close looking over his body. Must be making sure he's not hurt, she always worried about that. Her eyes stopped on his chest, sitting up slightly, "Joshua?" He looked down at her, "Yes?" "Did you get a new Tattoo?" He nodded and smiled, "Yeah, do you like it? It has the person’s name that is closest to my heart." She smiled, taken by his sentiment, "Awww, that's so sweet. Maybe I'll get another one." "Wait till we get to Vegas, you can get anything you want." Pushing up, he suggests they go take a shower before they have to get out of there and get to the airport to catch their flight.
After they're done and ready to go, they pack their clothes as she looks over at him zipping his bag. Smiling some, she says, "I need more clothes. Can we run back to my house?" He shook his head, "No need to we can go get you some new clothing when we get to Vegas." She grins at him and gives him that look, "Ohhh, you know how much I love going to Vegas to shop." He laughs and shakes his head, kissing her softly before they take their leave from the room and heading to return his rental car and get onto their plane, heading out to Las Vegas.
Las Vegas, NV
5 PM
McCarran International Airport
"God, being in Vegas is so much fun. I love coming here. Let's go shopping." He grinned as he held her hand and they walked through the terminal with their bags in their hands. No waiting, since they'd both just took their luggage on board. He said, "No problem we need to stop by my house before then to drop our bags off. Plus going down to the Strip is better at night." She nodded and the two headed towards the long term parking garage. Getting into the elevator, they remain close and quiet as they wait for it to stop once again. The elevator door opens and the few people rush out. They get off of the elevator and Joshua walks to the car with Maria’s hands on his waist as not to get lost. They walk up to a 525i BMW, Joshua opens the trunk and puts the bags in. Joshua opens the door for Maria and gives her a kiss as she gets into the car.
They drive up I-15 and get onto US 95 North to get to Joshua’s house. They pull up to his house and it is a house of Maria’s dreams. She's awestruck, looking over at him, "Josh, this is the house I told you about, that I wanted when I bought my own." He nodded and looked at her, serious as he said, "Yes. I know. I had them build it to the way that you wanted it done. I mean if you come to visit me I want to be in a dream." She seems so taken with what he's done for her. He got out and let her out, taking her hand for a moment before getting their stuff out of the trunk and leading her into the house. Joshua goes in the house and drops the bags off in the bedroom while Maria checks the rest of the house out. "I don’t know what I love more this house or you." He laughed as he wrapped his arms around her waist as he whispered, "Well if you love this house more than me that’s fine as long as I can share it with you. Anyways we need to head down to the Strip to do some sightseeing. How would you like to have dinner on top of the world?" "As long as I'm there with you, it'll be the most wonderful thing in the world.
A short time later, at the Stratosphere Casino to go to the Top of the World restaurant to eat dinner while rotating over the city of Las Vegas. She sighed as she looked out the window and said absently to him, "It's so beautiful up here. I'd love to live in this city, just so I can see this view whenever I want." He smiles as he turns his gaze out the window also, taking her hand across the table as he says, "We will... Some day."
They finish dinner go down to the Strip and walk and watch some of the shows. They finally end up at the Venetian, riding in one of the gondola's, as she looked out over the scenery. The night air not terribly chilly and not overly warm either. She wore a long sleeved black top and jeans, her reddish tinted hair up in a slightly messy bun. Taking her hands, Joshua caught her attention when he started speaking to her, "Maria, when I saw you I knew you were the one for me, but never in a million years, did I get a thought I had a chance at getting you as my girl friend. Sweetheart I have one question to ask you and I would love a answer to it."
Joshua reaches into his pocket gets down on one knee in the gondola, feeling it sway ever so slightly and opens the box. "I know, it's only been seven months, but... Would you do me the honor and become my wife?" Her eyes got wide and she found herself caught up in the moment tearing up and in disbelief at what Joshua just asked. It took her a few moments but she finally choked out, "Yes, yes I will be your wife." Joshua slips the ring on her finger, just before Maria hugs and kisses him as the gondola captain congratulates them and keeps on going..
