Welcome back to RRFL Roundtable... this is the 2nd one on the season.
It's been a quick 10 weeks, and already stars are being born, and burning out. Alot of new owners, and tougher competition. So I gathered a few new faces to see what people were thinking around the league. The panel for this week: Novak - NY Jets Yoda - PHI Eagles Moe - STL Rams Billy - CLE Browns and myself, CIN Bengals Bleek (moderator): Alright welllll welcome to RRFL Roundtable mid season edition Bleek (moderator): Plenty of things to chitter chatter about Bleek (moderator): Lets get down to it Bleek (moderator): First a question for everyone, name the team having the most disappointing start so far this season Moe: Rams Yoda: New England Billy: Colts Novak: I'd agree with Yoda...New England. Bleek (moderator): Why the Colts Billy? Billy: just a disappointing season at 1-8 Bleek (moderator): Next ones for Moe & Novak Bleek (moderator): Who has had the most suprising start so far, and why? Novak: Miami. I don't think that team has a lot of talent and it is always hard to win with a young quarterback. Moe: I'm gonna have to say the Cards. We all know they would be a tough team winning there last 8 games of season 8. But to be 9-1, damn.... Bleek (moderator): Billy or Yoda - mid season MVP award - who does it go to? Billy: gotta go with Brian Westbrook Billy: dominating the rushing stats with 21 overall touchdowns Yoda: Not tooting my own horn here, but i would say Donovan McNabb. Leading in TDs by alot, and leads in yards, completion and attempts Bleek (moderator): hey Moe, how about ROOKIE of the year? Moe: Im gonna have to say Mcfadden from..Buffalo.. i played Dumbhebrew. There young..give them time Bleek (moderator): Novak, who do you think will squeeze into a playoff spot Bleek (moderator): and in turn, Billy & Yoda who do you think will be squeezed out of the playoff picture in the upcoming weeks? Novak: In the AFC, I think Tennessee. He's a good player with a solid team. Plus, there seem to be the haves and have nots in the AFC. Novak: In the NFC, that's really tough, I think I'll go with Dallas because they have the easiest schedule in my opinion Yoda: i think Carolina and Dallas should watch out in the NFC. alot of close races there and they are barely in if the season would end today Billy: AFC i think Ravens could be knocked out,in the NFC Carolina which has to face 8-1 Bucs twice Bleek (moderator): Its amazing right now in the AFC the bottom playoff spot only has 2 losses, thats a tough race.. one game could have you from first to last Billy: really is Yoda: watch out for pittsburgh, hes sneaky and can slide up at any time Bleek (moderator): Name a matchup (the best) of any 2 teams you'd like to see right now, not involving yourself Yoda: Tampa Bay vs Arizona Billy: Miami vs Baltimore Novak: if you want to flip the script, how about Seattle vs. Atlanta? Moe: S.F vs. ARZ....seems to be something brewing with those teams from the scouting reports.. Bleek (moderator): Billy/Novak - You can have any player off any team, playing the way he is right now in the league - on your team, who do you pick and why Billy: gotta go with Donovan McNabb sorry eagles, but i'm desperately in need of a quarterback, my starter is a backup at best in this league Novak: I think I'd go with Randy Moss. There might be no better playmaker in the game Bleek (moderator): Moe how about the most important acquisition in the offseason so far (Moss, Portis, Andre Johnson) Moe: I'd have to say..Westbrook, hes a stud Bleek (moderator): Novak, how about trades that are looking like they havent gone as planned for the owner? Novak: I think New England planned things better for his team with his trade for me. He got Jonathan Vilma and Justin Miller and some others in the deal. But their inexperience is showing. Yoda: i'm gonna have to butt in here. and say the worse trade was New England shipping out Moss for Westbrook, then sending Westbrook out Bleek (moderator): Moe -how about a spoiler team? someone that will ruin teams on the bubble Moe: this may be a surprise here...but im gonna say the Lions Moe: new owner...new look, 6-4..not too shabby Bleek (moderator): Billy, you've been pretty quiet about the issue, but breifly what are your thoughts on the zone talks? People playing too much zone, not enough sim? Billy: personally i do think it is a little crummy playing zone all game, but if you do know how to pick it more power for you,i agree with the rules with this one, its basically saying your running or passing all game. Bleek (moderator): Yoda, youre pretty experienced - leagues most improved owner? in terms of madden and franchise skill Yoda: Not sure what Blupunisha (Bears) finished last season, but i know he's getting it done this season. He's always been good with Franchise moves, never ruined a team, and built knowing what he needed Bleek (moderator): and Novak - being new in the league what makes RRFL different compared to other leagues? Novak: RRFL is very active, and that is what makes a good league. I also like how everyone does their scouting reports. That may seem small, but it makes games and owners better. Bleek (moderator): Now i'll name some teams, you guys just tell me contender or pretender Bleek (moderator): New England Yoda: contender Billy: pretender Moe: contender Novak: contender Bleek (moderator): Dallas Moe: contender Yoda: contender Novak: contender Billy: contender Bleek (moderator): Tennessee Billy: contender Novak: Contender Moe: pretender Yoda: pretender Bleek (moderator): Miami Billy: contender Yoda: contender Moe: contender Novak: contender Bleek (moderator): Carolina Billy: contender Novak: pretender Yoda: pretender Moe: pretender Bleek (moderator): Well guys, finally at this stage, one last step Bleek (moderator): team 1 (score) > (score) team 2 - reason why Bleek (moderator): Who wins the Superbowl? Novak: If I don't make it (;-)), Arizona 38 defeats Bengals 31 Yoda: i would say Tampa Bay 45 Cincinnati 42 Billy: Arizona 35 > Bengals 32, Arizona has the slight edge it will be a very tough played game Moe: Baltimore 24 -Cards 21....Baltimore..I think has put it all together and is ready for their shot... Bleek (moderator): Well listen fellas its been a pleasure talking with ya Bleek (moderator): thanks for being on the roundtable - any last words? Yoda: Giants Suck! Moe: NFC is much stronger than the AFC Novak: J-E-T-S, Jets! Jets! Jets! Billy: good luck to all of RRFL players in the 2nd half of season for teams trying to maintain in playoff race and teams trying to squeeze in,and teams that know their out and battling out games anyway Bleek (moderator): see u MFers in JANUARY Look for the next roundtable right as the playoffs get rolling... Good luck all. |
