FORUM IS MOVING!, Get thee to the NING!

I’ve made a decision. This forum is going to be mostly disabled for the future. The time I have to spend making it work is not worth the amount of posting and interaction. I have to be very careful how and where I devote my time, as it is a precious commodity and this coming year is insanely full.

Does that mean the end of the Quest interaction? NO! I love the interaction. I’m hoping a new idea, a new place, a new vision, will help me get the Quest Books out there to more people, and to get readers more involved.

I’ve developed a ning for Quest. For those who don’t know what a ning is, it’s a social network. It has a place for a forum, videos, photos, blogs, chat, everything. I think it’s the perfect place to set up a Quest shop and go to town. I want to do more blogs in the coming year, and more you tube vlog style posts. You can do them too! You can even have groups within the network, so if you want a “Beaufin Fan Club” or the “Katie Rocks!” group… start it! I’d also love to see blog posts from people about the books, about the characters, about how the series affects their lives. MORE INTERACTION, people! (I know at least two of you… Jeff and Lori…. have videos you can post already!) I plan on posting more regular blogs in 2009, and this will definately be easier for me if all the information is in one place.

About the short stories… I am going to keep the forum for that purpose, and that purpose only. I want it to be someplace where I have some control over who sees those stories. I don’t know that I have that capability on ning (although I may, but I need to play with it more). So I will keep that part open and going, and we can link it to the ning, still.

So. That’s the scoop. That’s the plan. I hope you all hop over to ning with me. I hope this new format will be easier for you to participate in/with. Mostly, I thank you for your support and here’s to a magnificent 2009!

And what about the staff section? Because everything in the Ning is open, right?

That is one of the downfalls, there is no staff section on the Ning. But I am keeping the staff section over here open, and if I need to make an announcement to staff, I'll post that on the Ning and it will be up to staff to come over and check it out.
