i didnt know where else to put this but this seemed like a good place.

i thought we needed a spot where we could pose questions specifically about the land itself. not people. but the land.

so if you have land questions here is the place.

like, i could ask....were there ever dinosaur like creatures living in the land?

or

what is the population (roughly) of the land?

is the capital city the most densely populated place?

does anyone live in the desert region?

will you one day put a map of the land in a book?

Wow, MM, when you ask, you ASK!!!

Ok, in order:

1) No dinosaurs in the Land. Ever. I think they would freak if they saw a T-Rex

2) Population of the Land.. Ack. I have no earthly clue. I've never really asked, nor has it ever been totally clear to me. Plus, I have really high math anxiety and trying to pin it down might give me an embolism, thus negating the possibility of getting the rest of the books out, so... yeah. Never really thought about it. There are as many as are needed.

3) YEs, the Capital City is the most densely populated. There are a couple of big towns in the Meadows and Forest Regions, but they don't come close to the Capital City and surrounding area.

4) There are people who live in the Desert Region. They stay mostly to the south, where there are canyons that give some respite from the sun and heat. They are nomads, and travel with the water. They are the ones who taught Maxt how to capture Water Bubbles.

5) I'd LOVE to do a Land Map. My topography skills s**k and my drawing is even worse. So if I can find someone who is good at that kind of thing... heck yeah, I'd love to do one. I did a rough map with the short story I gave my friend Katie years ago, but it was so amateurish I would be embarassed to put it in a publication!

Whew!

Any more?

Is one of these the town that you see on the way to the Mountain Region? What is the other? I don't know why, but I never considered that there might be people living in the Forest Region. I mean other than Beaufin in his cave. I guess that threw me.

Ferret. Snicker.

Convergence is the town that is seen in Oracle and Relic Quest. It sits where the Meadows, Marsh and Mountains meet. As nasty a place as you can find in the Land, really. You'll see a lot more of it in Charm Quest. (hint hint)

Forest Region... largest settlement I know about is Hilltree. There's a university there, if I recall correctly. There are several other small villages scattered throughtout that region, tho.

I think of Quicksilver as something you might learn about in Chemistry. Like its an element or something. I'm surprised it isnt used more often as a weapon. Like bottling it up and throwing it on someone.

Quicksilver has been around forever, but it wasn't as agressive as it is now. It's indiginous to the Land, but when Evil entered, I think that triggered a lot of its current tendancies. I mean, people avoided the Marsh Region because of it but it wasn't running around in packs seeking organic material out as it does now.

An interesting thing about the Land is that people tend to stay in their own Regions. People look at Catrin and go "Whoa! You LEFT the Mountains Region?" It's a big deal. So I think a lot of Quicksilver info is myth. But there's no denying it's getting more and more agitated as Evil entrenches in the Land. I think that sentient might be a little too advanced... I kinda think of an parameciocium (god, butchered THAT one). You know... a single celled organism that just IS. Does its thing. Just... quicksilver's larger than a bacteria or virus or whatever. And... ugh. Cold to the touch.

Jessi... that wasn't lame, it CRACKED me up! rofl2.gif

No periodic table in the Land. Cuz I s***ked at chemistry. No way.

But a land periodic table might be interesing:

HO Hottie-nesium (Orli)
HU Hunkalenium (Maxt)
RH Royal Hottie-nesium (Prince)
GH Guardsman Hunkalenium (Joaren)

I mean the list just goes on and on... cheerbril.gif
