Beaufin, Wizard Extraordinare

Beaufin... he of the wispy beard and violet eyes. Bumbling wizard or incredibly powerful? Which do you think? How will he impact the Land as it attempts to defeat Evil?

What would have happened if Beaufin had turned Maxt away, I often wonder. What would have happened to the Land, and all those within it? I also wonder how Beaufin views his place in the scheme of things. Knowing him as I do, I bet he feels like he is insigificant in the fight against Evil.

He's wrong, you know. Very wrong.

Sniffle. I feel like Beaufin is being neglected here, with no one talking about him. I guess I've been visiting him so much lately that I feel a little sad that his forum is so very empty. Sorry, Beaufin!!!

I think that Beaufin is like an untapped well, we have no idea how powerful he's going to be. I do think that he sees himself as insignificant but I think if he was faced with a truly demanding situation or infused with a bit more self-confidence then he would wow us all and kick some serious tooshie. Hopefully there's a LOT more Beaufin power to come!

Well, I have it on good authority that Beaufin... nope. Can't do it. It would just ruin everything!!

Suffice it to say that in Book 6, Wizard Quest.. you get a heapin' helpin' of Beaufin. I love that guy.

How old abouts is Beaufin?
Just cos he's a wizard I think of him in a Dumbledore/Gandalf like way. But I really don't see him as an old person like that, he seems quite young.

that is an excellent question. It says he has grey hair which we automatically think of as old? This is why I have been dying mine since I was 23.
I do think he is more powerful and talented than he gives himself for.

Beaufin is more than just a member of "The Ring" he is like way cool. He just needs a little shot of confidence. I see GREAT things for him. I am SOOOOOOO happy to hear that we are going to get another dose of his presence. Keep him going Lisa!!!

Beaufin tells me he started to grey when he was at school. So I think he's younger than we think... prolly about five to ten years older than Katie, perhaps?

So many good things to post, so little time. The upcoming book is Wizard Quest, so I better get the lead out. There seems to be a lack of information on Beaufin. He's the iconic grey bearded wizard. Page 85 of Oracle says meager light made him "look ancient." I like Beaufin as an introvert. I relate to that. But it doesn't win the popularity contests in life. And he does come across as underconfident, for having been the means to summon Katie to the Land in the first place.

I wonder how Beaufin managed to cross over Katie. I wonder how the Land Dwellers know about the Grid. I wonder if Beaufin wasn't coached by the Grid Manager. I'm guessing something like the grid manager doing it himself is out of bounds, but if he just drops big hints, well that couldn't exactly be proved against him in a managers' meeting.


I'm looking forward to some big magical reveals in Wizard Quest.

I see Beaufin as being quietly powerful; just because he is not a braggart who always has to show off his abilities doesnt mean that he is not more powerful than you can possibly imagine. Sometimes, as in poker, you don't want to show all your cards in advance. But when the going gets tough, you can bet Beaufin will be there in all his grey-bearded glory. There are secrets lurking behind those violet eyes. He's sort of like the Clark Kent of wizards...appears somewhat bumbling, but we all know who Clark Kent turns into...just watch!

My husband was bald by the time he graduated from high school. Hair (or lack of same) is not that good of an indicator of age!

Does Beaufin ever get to find love? It feels like everyone else seems to except him.
