Love, Spoilers!!

I'm worried about Sasha....

With the ending of her quest, and the death of Lukus, I'm concerned that Sasha is now going to drift through the quests without a love of her own. Plus, with all she's been through, can she trust a guy? Ever? And how would she find a guy who would understand what she's been through? No offense to Steven, but guys like him are not the norm.

It seemed like their was a big point when Lukus said that he wasn't the one for her. Something to the effect that his heart was too bruised to heal and love her properly. Surely their is a wonderful person in some dimension somewhere for her.
I know it seems like there aren't that many great guys out there in the world dimension.
It took me forever to find my husband. When I did I married him within a few months.
He had been through some trust issues with other girls.
Maybe Sasha will meet someone who can relate. Maybe another Protector?

I don't know about Joaren. I think the two of them could bond over Lukus but wouldn't it seem a little contrived if she fell for Lukus's identical twin? How could Joaren ever know that it was really him she loved and not the brother who died?

I think it's possible for Sasha to find love again. The Seer gave her some awesome advice that will sink in for her when she's ready to hear it. But I think the key to her healing came in the form of Vester. Now that she's got kitty with her, I think she's better equipped to deal with the pain as the two of them grieve together.

Sasha needs to finish healing before she worries about finding love. But she also learned a valuable lesson in the Land -- that living her life like an empty shell of a woman is no way to live at all. So with or without a man in the picture, she's already a better person.

I agree with you becky...for all the reasons that you listed. Sasha needs time to heal first, she's strong and she's got some amazing friends...so I'm sure with time she'll be ready for love.

Was Joaren Lukus' identical twin? I thought it just said that she could recognize the resemblence...now I'll have to go back and read that part over!

Joaren is Lukus' younger brother. By about 10 years. They do have a strong family resemblence (where's the farking spell check when I need it?) but they are not twins.

ah...so that means he is closer to sashas actual age, unlike the "too old for you" Lukas! Interesting! I like the idea, but agree that I think they may have a problem similar to Katey and Steven, in that there would always be a portion of me that wonders if Sasha is really seeing Lukas, or is she really in love with Joaren. Besides, Sasha sounds like a cool chick and, I think, once she gets herself back together, and over her grieving, I think the world (or Land) is a big place and there are alot of great guys out there. You just have to look deep inside them and not go just on outward appearances.

Well, I never really saw it as being so much like the other protectors' romantic relationships, where they fell in love in a fairly short time through the trials and tribulations they dealt with together. And I don't expect to see Sasha hook up within the next 2 books or anything (and I haven't read Land Quest yet, so don't tell me if anything happens there!). I kind of saw it as more like they may become friends at some point, possibly working together (maybe Sasha goes back to communicate with the Too'ki some more or something) and that they just become really close friends, possibly able to talk about their grief together and that sort of thing. I was more or less thinking they might have growing feelings for each other in a few years or so. Dunno, a lot of people seem to not like the idea of Sasha and Joaren...but it's just a thought!

hmmmm I'm not with this whole Joaren/Sasha thing. He would end up being Lukus' substitute. Which is not fair on Joaren, or Lukus's memory.
I think maybe Sasha will find somone in the World, possibly.

I hope so, then maybe she wouldn't have to go back to the Land too soon. It would probably be really painful for her to go back to the Land right now.

Also, we have had Land/World relationships in the last 2 books. I think it's time another protector actually gets to live with their love.

I have read Land Quest at this point, and all I'm gonna say is...it looks like there may be hope for the future.
