I love this fiesty red headed character. She's fun, strict, and devoted to the Protectors.

So... what are you waiting for? Discuss!!

In the books, Amber is so worried about her clean kitchen, but her character suggests that she is really more than Molly Maid. She seems too strong and forthright to be just the good looking housekeeper. Does she really make the fried chicken or is she taking credit from the Colonel? I mean, I just can't see her wilted from slaving over a frying pan with flour on her cheek!

I get a feeling that there is more to Amber than anyone suspects. Jo Rowling has taught me CONSTANT VIGILANCE and suspicion in all other things I read.

But my question is...if she isn't just the housekeeper, what secrets could she be hiding?

I think that she is either a previous Protector of the Land or somewhere else, or that she is in some sort of relationship with the Interdimensional Void. I have to imagine, since the World dimension has been fighting Evil for so long, Katie isn't the first person to have some experience with inter-dimensional travel. Has the World already got some kind of "network" set up? Have people from the World possibly helped other dimensions with their struggles in the past?

Oh Lordy, if someone else from the World has traveled to another dimension to fight evil... call me!!! I want more books to write!!!

Actually, I'm stoked because while I love the first five books... I have to admit some of my most favorite characters have yet to be introduced. I can't wait for you guys to meet them!!!!!!!!

That's a great take on it. We know that Ben's mom and Ben traveled. That would certainly have given them time to set up some sort of network. The Seer went to the World as a girl. Wouldn't you think that she would do something about Traveling when she got back to the Land and started Seer-ing?

I get the idea Amber does know a lot more than she lets on. And that little hint in book three from Daniel (Tell her I liked it better when it was red) is a HUGE clue in my opinion. I don't think Amber has been to the Land, but I think because of her connection to Alicia/the Seer and being the one to find Ben (and she forgot? how do you forget that?) -- she's had run-ins with Daniel. Maybe in the Void, maybe on Earth -- but one way or the other, she and Daniel are in cahoots!

(book 5 spoilers...beware!)

I had always thought there was something about Amber, and all through book 5 I thought she might be something like a Grid Manager or something. Actually, my thought was that she was a Grid Manager for a different Grid but that didn't make sense because Daniel seems to always have to be watching his grid so I would assume the same goes for the other Grid Managers. I loved the way she kicked a$$ against Kwade in Land Quest and I want to see more of that from her (and Susan?).

Oh, you will. You definately will. I love Amber. She's a great character, and she has a lot more to offer the Land and the Protectors. Fiesty and wise, she is simply awesome.
