Did rear suspension today - To low though, gonna raise it
Removed old engine. ![]() ![]() ![]() Gearbox fitted: ![]() Alternator, just need a Mk4 pulley. |

Completed the back axle accept for the brake lines.
![]() Test fitted the wheels... they a little close ![]() ![]() Did a little bit more work on the engine bay and underside. Undersealed the drivers side of the floor pan and the gear selector/exhaust channel ![]() Cleaned the engine bay a bit more ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Test fitted the Golf GTI 16v master cylinder - with a bit of reshaping of the bulkhead it fits - tight lol ![]() ![]() |

Does the bigger master cylinder make much of a difference?

More productive pedal movement. Its bigger 22.3mm so can push more fluid.

Allsorts of new bits either with me or on route.
Steering bits: ![]() GT/G40 steering rack with damper: ![]() Im terrible with replacing, cleaning etc "Whilst im there" which has extended the spec sheet a bit, so whilst all of the engine bay is empty im spraying it haha ![]() |

Thanks! This car is a keeper so i don't mind doing extra work on it now so it lasts.

I did a few more hours this morning prepping the slam panel and front end for some more paint.

youve put the rear disc shields on wrong..should cover the disc not face away from it like this

Lucky i have to take the rear suspension and brakes off again. Lets hope i don't fit other parts the wrong way |

Is the engine bay redone the same colour as the car? It sometimes looks like it is in the pictures, and sometimes looks like primer. Love the metallic blue you're using on the bits and bobs, I was half expecting you to do the whole engine bay in it which would not, I think, be a bad thing.

Yep the engine paint is celly base Monaco Blue, might just be the light and the fact that the paint was still wet.
The other blue is appearing on other stuff like my new mk3 sump, don't want to over do it though. |
