| QUOTE ("Emogen") | | “I don’t even know where to begin! Uh, can I have some of the chicken… and cheese, oh and a piece of bread… and… How am I even going to fit this all in?! I’m going to explode by the end of the night!” |
Darya chuckled slightly at Emogen’s words and dutifully picked up all the other woman was mentioning to put it onto Emogen’s plate. “Oh, I am sure your stomach will find some space for all of these goodies…”, she said and smiled wryly at the other woman, “…and who knows when we will get so much delicious food for free again…” With that, the female Sarmatian snatched a slice of fresh apple and let it deliberately overdone enjoyment disappear in her mouth before she laughed softly and let her dark gaze once more scan the food before her. Then Gawain’s blonde mane suddenly appeared close to her face as the man leaned forward, seemingly regarding the buffet as well and…
| QUOTE ("Gawain") | | "I need to tell you something, I need your help." |
The moment the knight’s quietly spoken words reached her ear, Darya froze in her movements for an instant and the expression on her face turned all serious. She had assumed that something was burdening her kinsman earlier already…and those words now only confirmed that. Luckily, her long dark hair was hiding her face from most people around her so that she hoped no one had noticed her reaction to Gawain’s words…which no doubt had been meant for her ears only anyway.
Taking a rather deep breath, the female Sarmatian managed to bring the slight smile back to her lips before she picked up some of the chicken – for herself as well as for Emogen – and placed the meat onto the plates. She used that moment to meet Gawain’s light gaze, giving him a brief nod to let him know that she had heard his whispered words as she did so.
| QUOTE ("Gawain") | | "I'm sure you won't explode, just take what you fancy the most... this is a feast after all. So... are you satisfied with your choices? Can we return to the table, before someone else stole it and I have to duel to regain your places?" |
“Well, I think I am done here…”, the dark-haired replied and tilted her head a little, “…if Emogen has everything her stomach desires, we shall return to gloriously defend our table…” With that, Darya smirked slightly and looked amusedly at Gawain and Emogen to see if they agreed. “Besides…I think there will be some music and…dancing soon as well…”, she added, “…so it might be safer to be seated by then…unless you want to balance the plates through the dancing crowd…” The woman breathed a brief laugh and subtly indicated some dance movements while she waited for Gawain to lead the way back to their seats again…

( Posted Image) BrendynHe felt their cores touch and it made him shiver. Made him want her again. He held back though. Brendyn was not sure if she was ready for him, knowing the pain of their first joining was probably still slightly present, so he wanted her to take the initiative. When she was ready for him. The way she moved, her touches and kisses, soothed him as he told his tale. Brendyn had been afraid, at first, of her reaction to his love for Veronica, but Alainia’s reply relaxed him… | QUOTE (Alainia) | | "I am sorry you went through such love and pain, all love should be celebrated not punished...no matter the reason...but I am glad he sent you there for I would have died at Segedunum without you, and we wouldn't be here now without both he and your old love, Veronica...." |
What she said was true: if it had not been for the past series of events, this moment would never have happened. The soldier leaned in to trail delicate kisses down her neck, nipping the tender flesh every so often. Alainia had even accepted the fact that three of his fingers were disfigured slightly… it did not prevent him from showing her the love she deserved, nor did it prevent him from using any weapon at his disposal. The feeling of her breast under his hand made him gasp, and he felt his body begin to react to her closeness.
| QUOTE (Alainia) | | "Tell me where you were born Brendyn....tell me more about you please..." |
“Not much to tell…” Brendyn lifted his head and met her blue eyes. His mind drifted back to the small town on the coast of Brittany where he was born… the smell of the salty ocean air… gulls crying in the morning mist… “I was born in Brittany, and was raised by my Aunt and Uncle. After they died, I joined the Roman Legion and was brought to this isle of Britain. I was stationed at Aesica…” he brought his head down to lick at the soft skin between her breasts teasingly. “But enough about me…”
Slowly, he rolled them over so that she was above him, straddling him, his hands rubbing over her legs, to her thighs.
“I want to hear about you… If you can tell me…” His eyes sparkled with lust and passion as they took in her slender body. Brendyn felt himself grow more and more in love with her as though there was nothing he could imagine more then spending the rest of his life with her…

(ooc: Thanks, Ione! To you as well!)
Quintus
| QUOTE (Ione) | | "Shall we go, Quintus?" |
"Oh! Yeah, of course." The Centurion had been startled by the woman's soft voice, hardly having heard her exit the bedroom- but now here she was, and the nun at her side, holding the baby. Quintus turned from his idle contemplation of the blanket with a small, apologetic smile and moved to open the door for the women, standing to the side to let them pass.
"Nice night," he remarked inconsequentially as they crossed the courtyard. He was aware that perhaps he ought to mention the baby, make some compliment or something, but was a little lost for what to say on that score. Babies were babies, endlessly fascinating to women, it seemed, but not of much interest to men, unless they were their own. Aithne, at the moment, was just a small bundle in Sister Margaret's arms, seemingly dozing off again.
"She's a sweet li'l thing," the Centurion made himself say, turning momentarily back to glance at the bundle- then immediately felt a bit foolish for saying it. So much for social niceties. Well, they were across the courtyard by now, and he could cover any awkwardness by once more opening and holding the door.
"See anywhere you wanna sit?" he asked when they were inside, thinking that he'd at least get the women situated at a table first. The room was packed- the higher-ups were ensconced at their raised high table, of course, but everyone else was just happily milling around, talking, laughing, going back and forth from the food tables, and music was playing from somewhere, its location not readily visible in the crowd. Quintus spotted Adian at the buffet and, with a light touch on Ione's elbow, attempted to subtly steer her in the opposite direction.

( Posted Image) CaiusCaius was very tired, and his mind was a jumble of thoughts and things he wanted to do right now, but nothing dispelled those thoughts more then talking to Filippo. Somehow, things all fell into perspective while talking to the scout. Being raised in a noble house where his parents were well bred and well taught, Caius had never really been taught the easier things in life like making jokes and enjoying a good talk, or even courting the woman of his choice. Instead, his father had instilled in him much education and military training via his parents friend, Favius Justius. Caius Patreus dearly loved his parents, but they had sheltered him from a lot… There had been little time for play and learning other things that made life seem simpler. Caius felt that his life was a complicated mess, and lonely at times. Caius envied his friend in that respect, but it was a friendship that Caius would not have traded for anything. Sure they were different, but they were both good at what they did: Filippo with his skills as a scout and a sort of spy, and Caius, himself, a standard bearer and well trained warrior. | QUOTE (Filippo) | | "I don't think I know how to teach something like that..." "I think you just need to practice more, that's all." "Well, seems like my stomach fully agree with your propousal.” |
The two approached the tavern (((ooc: Hope you don’t mind, Livi…))), Caius’s stomach protested again, “Well, I can attest to the fact that this place makes great food! I had the pleasure of talking to two lovely women here as well as the Commander’s Centurion, Quintus.” As the aroma of food wafted through the air, Caius’s mouth watered. Nothing like food, drink, chatting with others gathered there, and then a good night’s sleep. Caius’s mind was still thinking of Decima.. worrying that she might have tried to leave the company of the Governor’s train and set off on her own…
| QUOTE (Filippo) | | "So... what is going on between you and the lady?" |
“I think I… I mean I truly love her,” Caius looked down at the ground deep in thought. “Two weeks ago, before we came here, I had gotten up early…” His voice lowered so that only Filippo could hear. “She was up before sunrise, her horse saddled and ready to ride… She looked unhappy. She doesn’t like not being independent, and I suspect that she was trying to run away…”
Caius did not want to become chatty, so he shortened the story, “We, Decima and I, have known each other for a long time, and I told her that I wanted to marry her. I want her to be happy and be independent… I don’t know what she feels about me…”
It was so complicated.
"Decima was not in her quarters, and I was curious as to whether you had seen her."

Ione and a tad of Adian
| QUOTE (Quintus) | | "Oh! Yeah, of course." "Nice night," "She's a sweet li'l thing," |
“Yes, It is a nice night,” Ione inhaled the fresh night air deeply filling her lungs with it, then exhaled. Next to them, Sister Margaret had succeeded in putting Aithne to sleep, and was making cute little baby noises which made the nun smile. She thought it was even a sweet gesture that the Centurion had given Aithne a small compliment as it was something few men did.
“Aye, Quitnus, she is sweet….” Ione smiled at the officer. Quintus had done a lot for Ione, and for that, she was grateful. Although it would have been nice to have such a man in her life, Ione had been hurt too many times to even begin to flirt or even contemplate a man in her life right now. Perhaps someday the right one would come along, but for now, she was content with just a life with she and Aithne.
As they moved slowly across the courtyard to the tavern which was lit and festive looking, the smells of food and the sounds of chatting and laughter filled Ione’s senses making her anxious to see her friends… perhaps even introduce them to her new daughter. The three entered the tavern, and Ione stepped inside with the nun and Aithne in tow, stopping to take in the atmosphere. Behind her, Quintus asked….
| QUOTE (Quintus) | | "See anywhere you wanna sit?" |
Ione felt the Centurion touch her arm to steer her through the crowd.
The nun pointed to a table near the window, “How about over there?”
It seemed a little less crowded, and a bit away from the busier area closest to the table where the higher officers were sitting.
“Looks fine to me,” Ione said looking it over to make sure it was safe for her and her newborn. The young weaver was still a bit tired, so her stay would not be long, but just to be where her friends were made her feel happy.
___________
Not far off, Adian, who had dished up his food and was returning to where the guards were, saw the Centurion, Ione and the nun carrying the baby enter the tavern. He stopped to watch where they would be sitting, and his eyes narrowed. Turning back to where his table was, he saw that the wench had brought the ale. Setting the plate down, Adian took his place, and began to eat. The anger he had felt earlier was gone with fact that Aithne was possibly not his. He was not ready to be tied down with a child, and he had just wanted Ione to know this.
Nope, he was done with Ione and was glad for it.
She was not the same woman he had known so long ago, not the same since she had arrived back at the fort from her trip with Javier to her old homestead. And for that matter, since he had found her here at the fort.
There was something different about her....
Adian just figured he'd keep his distance for now.

| QUOTE (Linnesse) | | "Oh, thank Heaven you're here, Dagonet, they were..." |
Dagonet didn't turn his head to look back over his shoulder, he watched Linnesse observing if the couple were going after them, but the tall knight doubted it. He was sure that he had made his point quite clearly. They should not bother Linnesse anymore, if not Dagonet will come again, this time not so nice as he was just a second before. But Linnesse's words squeezed his heart a little also. She thanked the heaven for him to be there... that was strange to hear. And he felt somehow that he was wrong today at some point. Not toatlly convinced though now. She would think of another way to get away from the couple bothering her. He just came along...
| QUOTE (Linnesse) | | "It was so strange, they came up and introduced themselves, and were very friendly, but as soon as I mentioned that I was a healer, they just wouldn't let up! They wouldn't let me leave, just kept talking and talking and talking..." |
Dagonet frowned at this but didn't comment. They walked farther and he listened. Why the hell people were disturbing such a good and kind woman was beyond Dagonet's mind. She was maybe not yet the best healer, but one of the kindest in here Dagonet though. At least for him and the rest Sarmatians. She was the one that didn't object from healing them Sarmatians... the dirty barbarains... like some of the nuns were saying. Then Linnesse giggled at the whole situation and Dagonet smiled lightly.
They reached the table and Dagonet looked around briefly - he noticed Arthur with a man who Dagonet didn't know, but probably it was this Governor... He looked like one. He managed to see Darya with Gawain at the table before Linnesse let go of his arm and patted it once. Dagonet looked back at her...
| QUOTE (Linnesse) | | "I'm just so...thank you so much for getting me out of that, they just...thank you. I don't know what I would have done if you hadn't come along." |
Dagonet nodded his head slightly at this... She held his gaze for a longer moment giving out also breath of relief. Tall Sarmatian's mind only now registered that he had done something that helped somebody else. It felt better on his heart. Better that he finally managed to do something else than be frustrated. And Linnesse was greatful. He felt better... His spirits were now higher. He didn't feel yet good enough to say that he was okey, but just better.
"No problem Linnesse..." he said silently and smiled again.
He then looked over the table before him... He didn't feel hungry... but the hunger for ale was less also. After few seconds Linnesse looked back at him uncertainly. Dagonet frowned again at this.
"What?" he asked and his eyes went to roam around the place searching for the thing that Linnesse found strange.
His eyes went pass the bar where a man with long hair sat, but Dagonet didn't know him.... from the man tall knight looked over to the kitchen door. And his frown deepened. What was this? There was Vanora standing nearer the door and Linnette... with Drake near to her, his arms were around her waist and his face in her hair. What was the meaning of this? Dagonet leaned with his one forearm on the table, it was strong enough to hold his weight. He remained watching from his distance Linnette with Drake. Instantly Dagonet felt his cheeks go red. He didn't if it was because of anger over seeing this that built up in him like a flame or was it from shame that he felt momentaly that he could do something more to help. He heard rumors before at Linnette being closer to Drake but he had not really gave them much believe. Right now this was something different. He was seeing them - together. Anger built up in him cause Linnette was with his son child, what right had Drake to touch her like that? Dagonet closed his eyes briefly trying to calm himself down, turned his head in the other direction... But his fast beating heart told him to do something... to react! This... shouldn't... It should be Gedeon there! Not Drake! It only told him more and convinced him once more that he wasn't needed. His fists clenched. Do something!
"Excuse me Linnesse..." he finally got out of himself and with fast steps he came to where Linnette and Drake were standing.
His every step was heavy filled with deep emotions, with anger... and highest frustration. This shouldn't be Drake... Dagonet felt furious now and he could not hold on and keep it hidden. He had to do something...
As he reached them his hand shot towards Drake's shoulder and pulled him hard to swing him around away from Linnette. His fist taking a full swing ready to conect with the man's jaw...
((ooc: Gods!! I couldn't stop him!! :ninja: ))

Vanora
| QUOTE (Linnette) | | "I am too, I haven't seen him yet, but I hope he's coming- can't imagine he'd skip the food, really." |
Vanora smiled at this. Well Drake as other man was probably always hungry. It was normal. Nothing special about it. But in case of Bors - well her lover was more than hungry always. and not only for food.
"Don't worry he won't miss it!" she said lightly and with a smile.
| QUOTE (Linnette) | | "I'll take this one out," |
"Alright"
Vanora caught another tray and walked after Linnette who waited for her... And in that moment Drake joined them taking Linnette by surprise his arms going around her waist and his head going to Linnette's hair. Vanora smiled at this sight and walked pass them to get the tray to it's place. When she stopped suddenly with surprise seeing Dagonet storming in the direction of Drake. Before she could react or even shout to get somebody's attention Dagonet's hand grasped Drake and swung him around. Gods! This won't end good! She quickly put away the tray and was about to get to them and calm Dagonet down. In fact she was not surprised that the man looked angry... but on the other hand she didn't think he will be today at the feast! He should be informed about what was happening between Linnette and Drake and seeing this VAnora assumed he was not. And he could jump to wrong conclusions! Gods! Before Vanora will reach them something will happen and it won't be good. She knew it and her heart jump to her throat her eyes searching for Bors to catch Dagonet as he had always done in the past before the tall knight would do something stupid. But Bors wasn't there! She could now only watch helplessly what will happen.

| QUOTE (Darya) | | “Oh, I am sure your stomach will find some space for all of these goodies “…and who knows when we will get so much delicious food for free again…” |
“So I should enjoy it while it’s offered?” The brunette asked back jokingly.
Emogen DID notice that Gawain took the very briefest of moments to lean over and whisper something into Darya’s ear, however she thought nothing of the act. He was probably just telling her how beautiful she looked tonight, or how he was enjoying himself or something of that matter. Whatever it was it was not Emogen’s business so she simply pretended she had seen nothing. She was not the kind of person to pry and tried to keep out of things that were not meant for her.
| QUOTE (Gawain) | | "I'm sure you won't explode, just take what you fancy the most... this is a feast after all." "So... are you satisfied with your choices? Can we return to the table, before someone else stole it and I have to duel to regain your places?" |
As Gawain flashed her a bright smile Emogen just grinned back and nodded her head. This man was an outrageous flirt and what was worse that was Em loved it! Not that she was flirting back, but it still did a woman’s ego good to be made to feel special now and then. There was no doubt in her mind that Gawain certainly had a way with the women and often got whatever woman he desired. Still, it WAS nice to feel special once in a while.
| QUOTE (Darya) | | “Well, I think I am done here…”“…if Emogen has everything her stomach desires, we shall return to gloriously defend our table…” “Besides…I think there will be some music and…dancing soon as well…” “…so it might be safer to be seated by then…unless you want to balance the plates through the dancing crowd…” |
“Now that would be interesting!” Emogen laughed as she watched Darya mimic trying to dance while carrying loaded plates back to the table. “I’m done…” she said looking up at Gawain, silently waiting for him to lead the way back to the table.

( Posted Image) NeeveThe tavern got more and more crowded…and Neeve could not help but consider leaving again. She was not exactly a people person. But then someone she had not expected to show up at all entered the room: the nameless patient from the infirmary. The healer’s blue eyes narrowed at the man and she automatically watched every step he made. He should not be here. He was in no shape to be out and about…and alone of that. The Briton growled low in her throat, pondering as to whether or not approach the man to kindly ask him why on earth he had left the infirmary… …but then something else distracted her. The raven-haired woman saw Dagonet’s tall figure suddenly break through the crowd…stalking directly into the direction of Vanora, Linnette and…Drake…and… Then things happened really fast. The Sarmatian grabbed the soldier, spun him around…and placed his fist firmly against Drake’s jaw. Ouch. This was not good. Not good at all. Well, okay…maybe there was something good about the scene: Dagonet seemed to have found his inner fire again. But THIS was not the way she had wanted him to do that. The healer’s blue eyes shifted towards Arthur and the Governor. Had they noticed the brawl yet? A Sarmatian attacking a Roman. It would not look good. And it was very likely to get Dagonet into serious trouble. What was he thinking??!! Raking a hand through her raven-hair, Neeve slid off her chair and made her way through the crowd… She did not intend to interfere – not yet at least – but she made sure to came to a halt at a spot that would allow her to reach Dagonet with a few steps if necessary…and until then efficiently blocked the Governor’s and probably also Arthur’s view of the unpleasant scene – or so she hoped, pretending to consider refilling her plate with food as she did so. Her gaze then searched for Gawain…the only other knight present so far. Would he do something to stop his brother in arms?

| QUOTE (A very angry Mirtha) | | "Bigger stall??" "You want a bigger stall?" "So maybe you could build one outside my stables?! Cause I don't have any more room for incoming horses of that fucking Governor's party! And you want a bigger stall!" "Just go fucking away..." "I have no mood for either of you." |
Now Galahad had been yelled at before in his life. Growing up under the service of Roman’s, treated like a slave he had been yelled at, slapped, beaten, kicked and generally treated like dirt. So one would think he would be used to sudden outbursts of abuse, but what came from Mirtha’s mouth completely took him by surprise. He thought the stable master would be pretty pissed off, but not this much!
Before he could even open his mouth to respond the poor man was wracked with a vicious cough sending his body shaking and his mood in an even more dangerous direction.
“I… uh… nevermind, I’ll be just find with the stall I have…” Galahad winced at his own reaction, purposely avoiding Lancelot’s eyes. Great, just fucking great! Here they were supposed to be providing a distraction so Tristan could steal some tools and he was doing nothing but angering poor Mirtha… although actually it was Lancelot who was angering him and Galahad who was bearing the brunt of that anger. Seriously, the first knight was going to get some payback for this one!

AlainiaWith her words, Brendyn's sadness and fear faded and she was glad for it. She sighed and shivered in pleasure as his lips trailed kisses down her still heated flesh. It caused her to moan as her head fell to the side to allow Brendyn easier access to her neck. Her hand slid up his arm and once again found a home in his dark tresses. She opened her eyes, which had closed in pleasure, and met his gaze as he said, | QUOTE (Brendyn) | | “Not much to tell…” “I was born in Brittany, and was raised by my Aunt and Uncle. After they died, I joined the Roman Legion and was brought to this isle of Britain. I was stationed at Aesica…” |
As she opened her mouth, ready to ask a question about Brittany, when he dipped his head down and licked the soft skin between her breasts teasingly.
| QUOTE (Brendyn) | | “But enough about me…” |
She frowned a smile at him, for she knew there was more, but as much as she wanted to know about him, her body was starting to tense up again with all their light, sensual touches. She wanted to have him claim her again...
She gasped as her world shifted again and she found herself above him once more, straddling him; a whimper of wanton want escaped her as his hands rubbed over her legs. Her legs were trembling with an instinctive need as his hands and fingers reached her thighs.
Her body was trembling with need as he asked,
| QUOTE (Brendyn) | | “I want to hear about you… If you can tell me…” |
Her eyes opened again, for they had closed with his touches to her thighs, and met his eyes that sparkled with lust and passion for her and her body.
She wanted him, so much, and she was going to have him!
She was surprised by this want within her. It was amazing that this need for him to always be close to her or within her was deep within her soul.
She hoped she was pregnant, or with their next union, she'd become with child, not only to have the child she so desparately wanted, but it would bind her to Brendyn in a way that could not be denyed. The child would be the ulitmate proof of their love, and she would love the child with all her being; just like she found herself loving Brendyn with all she had.
She met his gaze and said and she, once again, snuggled close to him, placing her head under his chin, placing a small kiss to his adam's apple, "Well, when my grandparents married, nine months later my mother, Madelena, was born. About thirteen years later, Vindobala was attacked by the Woads and my grandparents were killed."
She sighed and continuned as she lightly ran her fingertips across his chest and began to lightly play with the peaks of his pectorials and lightly placed twin kisses on each as she continued, "Before my grandmother was killed, she made Bryndion, one of the Woad healers there, to promise to take care of Madelena. My father promised and Helena died."
"At first my mother was distrustful, but she had nothing to keep her in Vindobala, so she agreed to marry my father. To escape the people who knew them there, they left Vindobala and made a new life for themselves in Segedunum."
She smiled at the memory of her parents and ended as she sat up and placed kisses on his crook of his shoulder and neck and ended, "Two years later, on May 2, I was born and I lived there till the attack where I came here....and here I am, with you, and totally in love with you."
As she finished her story, she wantingly met his lips with her own and ground herself over his hardening length.
She moaned in contented pleasure.
Soon the jolts began to tingle down her back to settle within her womb. Her coils were once again ready to tighten, and all she needed was for him to be the master roper who wrapped the coils within her.
She was ready for another round; she knew she's be in pain by the morrow, but she didn't care! She wanted to feel him inside her again!

Gawain laughed at them both and walked with them to their table, making sure to avoid people while carrying the plats in his hands. He was already figuring out what to get himself later once both ladies were seated and how nice it would be to actually enjoy dinner with two ladies when the unthinkable happened.
He heard commotion toward the kitchen and the last possible scene displayed in front of him. Dagonet hitting Drake square in the face and actually hitting him in front of a full place with a Roman Governor watching. Blood drained from Gawain's face as the thought of what possibly happen cross his mind and he hurried to put the plates down for both women.
"Forgive me.." he muttered hurriedly and jumped around people to try and reach Dagonet before anything else could happen. Gods, if anything else happen to that man... he quickly throw a glance in Arthur's direction to see how the commander was reacting and if the main table has taken notice of what was going on below them.
"Dag!" he spoke the name not in anger nor very loud, but he hoped the other man would hear him the same. He passed by Neeve throwing her a confused and worried glance before once again moving toward his brother. "What are you doing?" he hissed low but clear enough for Dagonet to hear - if he was in a good frame of mind to actually listen to Gawain.

Lancelot grinned to himself, he wasn't sure if Tristan was out of the room yet but he was pretty confident the scout could find a good way out if they just drop out of the fight with Mirtha. He patted the Stable Master on the shoulder looking somewhat seriously and nodding his head.
"Thank you Mirtha, you did a good job in convincing him." he then snorted "But I told you he is young... you shouldn't have shout like that," he smirked then "After all - didn't you tell me just moments before that yelling is for idiots?"
He couldn't resist to bug Mirtha, it was just too much for Lancelot to pass the opportunity and he grasped it with both hands fully. He walked toward Galahad - encircling Mirtha again - and standing just behind the other knight. "I think we should go eat..."
After all he was supposed to attend that feast and to eat something. And the feeling that he was going to face Arthur soon didn't appeal him one bit. Sometime he cursed the fact to be in his own position, if he was just another knight he could have slipped in the shadow like Tristan could do and enjoy the feast without needing to be socially active.
"And pup...if you drink, something worse than this encounter with Mirtha will happen." his voice was low and soft, almost like he was telling a nice tale to a woman. Purring like a well fed cat.

Linnette and Linnesse
| QUOTE (Vanora) | | ”All right.” |
Vanora picked up another tray, and Linnette fell into step with her as they made their way out of the kitchen and back into the now-very-crowded tavern. Linnette was sidestepping around a knot of conversing people when the sudden sense of a presence close behind her arrested her. Certain she had been about to run into someone unsuspecting, she aborted her step mid-stride and took a breath to apologize- but then a strong, familiar arm snugged itself around her waist, and Drake’s lips were warm against her hair. Speak of the devil, apparently.
His brief question was almost hesitant, laden with concern- and hearing it, Linnette felt any concern she herself might have had melt away. A delighted smile spread across her face, half-hidden by the duck of her head. “Of course,” she answered and turned her head towards him, kissing his rough cheek- another unheard-of public intimacy for the two of them, and yet somehow, the world did not come crashing down around their ears. She twisted around a little farther, trying to face him while maneuvering both trays, and then…
Thudding footsteps sounded behind them, standing ominously out from the general hubbub, and suddenly Drake was yanked away from her, and Linnette spun around to see Dagonet, with one hand on Drake’s shoulder and the other huge fist hauling back to punch him in the face.
“No! What are you…” Linnette cried, shocked and horrified at the sudden violence. Dagonet…Dagonet was the missing ingredient in this that she had not considered. Damn it…frustration surged to the fore of her emotions. She wanted to retain a good relationship with Dagonet- how many times had she fantasized about handing him his cooing, sweet-smelling baby grandchild, and seeing his face light up, perhaps at some small resemblance to Gedeon that he- or she- evinced? She wanted that! But every time she came to visit Dagonet of late, her very presence seemed only to sink him deeper into depression. In her creeping, guilty heart of hearts…she felt close to giving up on him. Walking away and not burdening him with memories of the past any more. But how dare he…
It looked like the world had come crashing down, after all.
“No!” she repeated vehemently again. The trays tilted dangerously in her hands, and she turned to set them unceremoniously down on the nearest table, sending two pieces of roasted carrot sliding onto the wooden surface itself, and making the man sitting across from her yelp. Behind Dagonet, Linnesse dashed into view and plucked with dismay at the knight’s sleeve.
“Dagonet, this isn’t right…” the blonde healer protested weakly, cringing away from his blow, even though it wasn’t aimed at her. Vanora had turned back towards them, too, and suddenly Neeve and Gawain were nearby, too- enough people, Linnette devoutly hoped, to stop this “argument” right where it started. Linnette took another step forward, fully intending to plant herself right between the two men, if necessary…
Quintus
| QUOTE (Sister Margaret) | | ”How about over there?” |
| QUOTE (Ione) | | ”Looks fine to me.” |
“Aye,” the Centurion agreed simply, and continued with the women in the direction of their preferred table. A woman’s cry of protest made him stiffen, though, and he looked sharply across the room towards the source of the sound. Over fairly near the kitchen entrance, a scuffle of some sort seemed to be developing- Quintus could see a tight not of people that seemed to be attracting onlookers, but he could not tell what exactly had happened or who was involved, not even by rising momentarily to his tiptoes. Suddenly wary, the Centurion threw a glance back at Adian- but the man was now sitting and eating harmlessly. Apparently, whatever the disturbance was, the carpenter was not part of it.
“C’mon, let’s get you over here…” Quintus added, keeping one eye on the disturbance and the other on the two women in his charge. He didn’t mention the fracas specifically- but he did hurry them along just a tad, to the quietest part of the room, where they had chosen to sit.
“I’ll get someone to bring you some food, maybe,” he added distractedly as Ione and Sister Margaret sat down, still looking towards the bar and the scuffle. That better not be any of his men over there, creating a scene in front of the Governor, and so early in the feast, too- if any of his were involved, there’d be hell to pay.
(ooc: I’m going to hold off posting the Governor until Pinkie has had a chance )

Tristan
| QUOTE (Lancelot) | | "...didn't you tell me just moments before that yelling is for idiots? I think we should go eat...And pup...if you drink, something worse than this encounter with Mirtha will happen." |
"Yeah, let's eat," put in the scout concisely, strolling up to the stablemaster and the other two knights casually, empty-handed, from the direction of the stalls. He had exactly what he needed, stashed in his bag, which was in turn stashed in a corner of Tirgatao's stall. All was in readiness- and from what he had overheard, Lancelot and Galahad had done an excellent job keeping the stablemaster occupied, albeit at somewhat at Galahad's expense.
"C'mon, should be good," Tristan encouraged the other two, not even really looking at them, but taking out one of his knives and starting to clean the dirt out from underneath his fingernails as he walked. He had tossed a little water over his face and hands in the process of taking care of his horse, but he still looked an extremely dirty and disreputable figure, especially for one contemplating walking into the tavern to eat.

Brigit and a bit of Adian
She sat there where the nun had left her, and seemed to be looking about the room though she really could not see anything that was happening. Somehow, Brigit felt that it made her seem more natural, so she smiled and listened to the bright music, take in the aroma of the food Sister Agetha had just placed in front of her, the lively chatter, and...
A deep frown suddenly appeared over her young face.
Heavy footsteps... angry voices.... the sound of a fight beginning...
She recalled how angery Adian had been, and wondered if it was him who was fighting. She asked the nun next to her if it was, and the nun assured her that it was not. There was one thing that Brigit did not like, and that was an angery voice. Brigit wished that the young knight Galahad was here to protect she and Sister Agetha...
From where he sat, Adian and the guards could see the scuffle begin, and who was a part of it: The knight they called Dagonet, and a man Adian had not met yet (Drake)... and two women whom he recognized. From the moment the first punch was thrown, the carpenter got the urge to go and defuse the situation for fear the women would be hurt. Both guards restrained Adian so that he had no choice but to sit back down.
All he had wanted to do was help, but he had done enough tonight to cause some misunderstandings if he did try to help.
He glanced over at Quintus who was hurrying the two women to their seats. If the Centurion needed help, he'd be the first one out of his seat as there was nothing more he loved then a good tavern brawl...
(((ooc: They are both availible if anyone wants to talk to them...)))

| QUOTE (Lancelot) | | "Thank you Mirtha, you did a good job in convincing him." "But I told you he is young... you shouldn't have shout like that," "After all - didn't you tell me just moments before that yelling is for idiots?" |
Galahad would not help the tiny smirk that appeared on the corner of his lips. At least in some small way Lancelot was not just teasing him! Oh how it was nice NOT to be on the receiving end of the other Knight’s taunts!
| QUOTE (Lancelot) | | "I think we should go eat...""And pup...if you drink, something worse than this encounter with Mirtha will happen." |
The warm breath of Lancelot’s words sent a cold chill like ice shotting down Galahad’s spine and the tiny hairs at the back of his neck stood to attention. He found himself swallowing hard, frozen momentarily to the spot. He knew but a little of what Lancelot was capable of, and what he had seen he never, not in all his years wanted to be faced with.
| QUOTE (Tristan) | | "Yeah, let's eat," |
“Yes… eat… and only eat…” Galahad practically shouted before he gave Mirtha a quick bow of his head before spinning around on his heels and avoiding Lancelot’s eyes all together. His dark curls bounced as he quickly trotted up beside Tristan, glad to be away from Mirtha and this whole distraction business… and also to be away from Lancelot’s wrath at least for the time being!

( Posted Image) DaryaDarya was actually beginning to enjoy herself at this feast…much to her own surprise. Not even the large crowd around her was bothering her so far. Not much at least. It was a rare experience for her to be at ease…to have…fun. And Gawain and Emogen were making this rather easy for her at the moment. For a few hours, it seemed that she could forget about all the worries that troubled her…all the bad things in the world. She was laughing…smiling…even making jokes – though a part of her longed for doing so with Arthur by her side, but with the Governor around, that was pretty much impossible. Unfortunately. And yet Darya hoped that the Roman had not forgotten about the promised dance… However, this for once positive attitude got all shattered when there suddenly was a commotion by the kitchen that made her look back over her shoulder as she, Emogen and Gawain were just about to sit down at their table with the fresh delicious food ready to be eaten. Darya’s eyes widened when she saw what was happening and she immediately exchanged a look with the blonde knight by her side, who of course had noticed the trouble one of their kinsmen apparently had gotten into as well. | QUOTE ("Gawain") | | "Forgive me.." |
The female Sarmatian did not get the chance to say anything as Gawain already hurried off and she could only watch him approaching Dag and his opponent with concern written all over her pale face. This was so not good. What could possibly have happened to make Dagonet of all freak out like this? The tall knight usually was calm and kind…mostly mourning and staying out of everything lately. And now this? That was just…wrong…so wrong…
The woman’s dark gaze shifted towards Arthur and the Governor for a moment…then to the tables occupied by a couple of Roman soldiers. None of them appeared to be interested in the commotion so far…but of course that could change any moment; depending on how Dag’s opponent reacted to the attack.
Darya bit her lower lip and looked at Emogen, giving the other woman a brief wry smile as she did so…an almost apologizing gesture. She had been unusually at ease this evening…but that all had vanished now. She could not even bring herself to sit down as she just had to keep an eye on the scene by the kitchen. “Why does something like this always have to happen when things start to be…nice for once?”, the dark-haired mused and gave Emogen a glance as if expecting her to have the perfect – or at least a plausible – answer, “…I’m sorry…for this…” She nodded slightly into the direction Gawain had moved into and frowned rather helplessly…

( Posted Image) There was laughter and voices filling the tavern, people talking about their days, about the bountiful display of delicious food, the wine and ale and a hundred other topics. And Emogen was having such a wonderful time, enjoying the company of both Darya and Gawain that at first she did not even register the commotion behind her. But then as she suddenly heard raised voices and then Gawain saying something about forgiveness the brunette spun around on her heels. She was not sure quite what had happened as there were so many people around, but it seemed like some sort of disagreement between two men – obviously both well known as Gawain and several other people were rushing up to them. | QUOTE (Darya) | | “Why does something like this always have to happen when things start to be…nice for once?” “…I’m sorry…for this…” |
“Don’t be sorry” Emogen said softly, turning to look back at Darya catching her small almost apologetic smile. “It was clearly not your fault.” She tilted her head to the side for a moment before turning back to look at the two men and those gathering around them. “Perhaps they were drunk?” She said, trying to put some explanation to the sudden and rather boisterous events. She knew what men could be like when drunk, and a fist fight was never out of the question. “Maybe?” She said, looking back at Darya while shrugging her shoulders.
