New! Drabble Challenges, creative writng game

Basic rules for Drabble:
Write a 100 word story that coincides with a posted picture, quote, or even a word. For instance, if I post a picture of the moon rising over a castle, you write a 100 story based on it. Once the story is done, post it so that others can read your creation :) This is a really fun game, and is a great way to release your creativity! Most here are already familiar to this game, but I do encourage others to write as well...


Okay let's try one:

The Moon

Through the night, the rider urged his black steed onward.

The message he carried was important.

It had to get to the King before the enemy reached the castle.

Suddenly, the horse bolted throwing the rider, sending him to the cold, damp ground.

Rising quickly, cloak flowing about him and his sword gleaming in the light of the moon, the messenger looked about to see what had startled the animal.

A ghostly figure appeared surrounded by moonlight.

“You will go no further,” The figure warned. “There is am ambush waiting to kill you.”

The figure vanished.

Word count: 99 :)

Sparkling stars looked different. Strange... Distant...
Not like home.
At home there was no frontier. No frontier between stars and earth.

Tear slides down slowly...

The sky is now too far for him to reach.
Even the moon feels different. Unwelcoming....

He was far away from home.

Longing caged his heart.

It was different land, different sky, different people...
He felt different inside.

Blood run differently.
At home blood run in those of living realm.
Here blood run from those whom death claimed.

He wished to feel the world by touching the sky...
As he had done at home...

I love it, Uni! Somehow, it feels very gothic and dark, but that could just be me. It feels poetic in a way, and I love poetry :).

Freshly fallen snow glistened on the forest path aided by pale moonlight.

A figure cloaked in deep green stood in front of the snow covered grave next to the frozen lake.

The memories of the times they had shared brought her to her knees, cold hands covering her tear stained face.

Through teary eyes, she looked up to see him standing not far from the grave.

She arose and moved toward him, taking his hand, and felt the yearning for those unlived days that they had never gotten to share.

Smiling, they turned and vanished into the falling snow.
