Okay, I've tried (and probably miserably failed!) to simplify the entire history of Middle-Earth (no mean feat!) for people who have never read the Silmarillion. Lots of things are changed, so please don't hit me if you have read it, but I have tried to do it in a way that follows the original fairly faithfully while still making it easy to grasp.

I'm not trying to imply that anyone here wouldn't be able to grasp the concept of the Silmarillion at all - but ask anyone who's read it - it IS extremely hard work and very complicated, loads of it doesn't really make sense, and it takes a heck of a lot of getting through!! I've missed heaps of it out, but the stuff I have left in I think is the main stuff you need to know for the purpose of the RP. Give me a shout if you get stuck!

I think this is a brilliant idea for an RP, with loads of stuff to work on, and for those who want it to be about Aragorn's younger years I've brought him into it too - we just won't worry about timelines too much! We can have familiar faces such as Boromir etc too if you like, I don't mind if no one else does!

Anyway, I'll shut up now, so read on!

At the beginning of the First Age, Eru Iluvatar, the creator of all things, made the Valar, along with other lesser Gods, to help him. Morgoth was one of the Valar, to whom Eru gave all the materials which make up the earth to fashion and command. Morgoth soon became bored of making rocks and mountains, and was jealous of Eru's ability to create living things, so he broke away from the others to create creatures of his own. He lured some of the lesser gods away with him, and Sauron was one of these. Morgoth began to try to copy the ethereal Elves which Eru had made, but only succeeded in creating poor attempts - Balrogs, Ogres, Orcs and Goblins. Eru was greatly displeased.

Eru had created Elves to live upon the earth, and gave them the land of Valinor to live in peace, with a love of all things beautiful and serene. Over the Ages however it became clear that the gift of immortality was not all it was cracked up to be, and so Eru also created Men, who were mortal. They were physically stronger than the Elves, but they also desired power, and so were easily swayed to the side of evil. Some of the other Valar also created beings, such as the race of Dwarfs, Hobbits, and other lesser creatures.

Men and Elves joined forces to defeat the servants of Morgoth when he invaded Valinor, jealous of its beauty and peace, and because of this Eru gave those Men who fought the gift of long life and great wisdom - they became the Dunedain, and Eru gave them the land of Numenor. Aragorn is born of this most revered race of Men.

We join the story when Feanor, an Elf, has created the Silmarils, three jewels of surpassing beauty and great power, to commemorate this great battle, gifting one to Elves, one to the Istari, great wizards whom the Valar created to help in the battle against Morgoth, and the third to the Dunedain.

Morgoth coverts these jewels, and desires them for his own. He sends Sauron to retrieve them for him. Sauron can take on the form of a Man, and as such can walk amongst Men undetected. Elves cannot see his true form, but they can sense there is something not quite right about him.

At the time of this story Aragorn is a young man. His father Arathorn was killed by Orcs when Aragorn was two years old, and his mother, fearful for his life as the Dunedain are greatly sought after by the servants of Morgoth, sent him to Rivendell to be fostered by Elrond. He knows his heritage, and also knows that there are few of his people left in Numenor, their original homeland.

Aragorn arose with the sun, which shone its dappled light into his room through the open window. The air was always sweet in Rivendell, the weather always fair. The young Dunedain often wondered if it was some trick of Elrond's that kept it that way.

Today he was to travel to Lothlorien, the Golden Wood, where the lady of the wood, Galadriel, had requested an audience with him. Aragorn knew of the great importance attached to such a summoning, but could not begin to imagine the reasoning for it. Apparently he was to be accompanied by a group of Elves from Mirkwood, making their centennial pilgrimage there, but not by Elrond himself, which had surprised him.

Elrond had seemed distracted lately, as though he puzzled over some great problem, but he had said nothing to his young ward, and Aragorn knew better than to ask.

Pulling on a light gray tunic and darker, loose-fitting pants, Aragorn stepped barefoot onto the balcony which overlooked the whole of the valley below. Birds, butterflies, and other insects flew up in a cloud from the trees, visible from above as they would not be if one were in the forest itself. A clear waterfall rushed in a torrent over the rocks across the valley, entering, Aragorn knew, the river for which the valley was named, where it flowed majestically through the trees and clearings all the way to the edges of the earth and into the Great Sea. Aragorn had never been there, but would greatly love to see it someday.

"Estel," the noble voice came from behind him, and he turned to see Elrond approaching. "I would like you to join me for breakfast so that you can meet your companions."

Aragorn inclined his head. "Very well," he replied. "I shall join you shortly."

Elrond smiled, the worried frown which had begun to dominate his expression not leaving his face, and left the young man in peace to prepare.

((Ooc: I'm flying by the seat of my pants here!! No idea why he's been summoned but I thought it would make for a good first journey! :naughty: Thought being accompanied by Mirkwood dudes might be an opening for Leggy? :ninja: ))

((ooc: okey here goes ;) ))

(Posted Image)

It was a long travel... Very long from his palace to Middle-Earth.. long from the edges of dead and life to the living world. It was long travel... a journey draining his life strenghts. Struggeling to go further... struggeling with his own physical form, to which he was not so used just yet...
And the destination was very far... He had never left his palace for so long, but knew where to go. He had seen it before. He traveled without being seen for long days now...
And now finally! He came to the place where he was destined to be now.

Rivendell... house of Elrond. One of the most important figure in the history of the world. He had to talk to him... to see him.. In fact Mandos felt a little curious about the elve. He had seen many of his kind but it was clear this one was special... He was a half-elve, who chosen his destiny like that... And with that even Mandos could not interefere... as he had before with many others. Elrond was those kind of surprises that Iluvatar put on Mandos's way.

Arriving at the gates of Rivendell he noticed the guards very long before they even got a feeling that somebody slipped by them. Manods had no reason to talk to them or to being discovered. He needed to see what he was suppose to see... The meeting of man with the group of elves. A traveling group... to the Mirkwood. And he was going to be one of that group... if he plays this out properly.

((ooc: hope it works... :ninja: I had to get more feel of my guy ;)

BTW TJ: great first Aragorn post!!! :) ))

Legolas

Rivendell. Home of Lord Elrond and his family. Peaceful. Beautiful. The safe haven of all elves, men, and all of the creatures in Middle Earth. And Legolas was on a small mission to see Lord Elrond and meet with old friends. The trip over the mountains had been short. Elves had a better stamina then that of men. He'd visited Lothlorien before he'd gone over them though, and was proud to have meet the Lady Galadriel and her husband, Celeborn. She was as beautiful as she was haunting, some said. Legolas never once found her to be anything but pleasant. He reigned his horse in short, his keen eyes missing nothing. He heard her before he saw her. The maiden he'd been seeking, unknowingly, for a long time. Ithilien.

(ooc: She'll be up tomorrow of the next day, depending upon how busy I am. )

Glorfindel

The tall elf lord sat upon his horse watching the valley in front of him, his calm countenance was apparent to everyone that was watching, meaning his small group of elves whom he was leading to patrol the area.
The last homely house was just behind a cliff in front of them and he couldn't wait to return home and rest. Elves had better stamina than human but for certain Glorfindel didn't mind the comfort of his own bed instead of the bedroll upon the cold ground.

His blond hair were flowing with the air and his blue eyes shined with happiness at the thought of returning at the main house. He wonder in what mischiefs the twins had got them into, or if Erestor had finally bored someone to death with his speeches and lesson regarding the future or the past of middle earth.

Snorting in amusement at the thought of going to annoy his old friend Glorfindel spurred his horse forward. The large beautiful beast, white as the snow and powerful like only a horse from the stable of Elrond could be, descend slowly the small slope toward the river. Echoes of animals' calls could be heard from everywhere and the stream of the water lulled the soul into tranquillity.

Nothing could, in Glorfindel's opinion, ruin the moods of the moment, and he would taste and enjoy every second of that peace. Something in his fea tell him that this peace would be ruined in the year to came, but until that moment the Balrog Slayer would live happily and keep the valley safe for his lord and friend Elrond.

((( OOC: hope it's alright for now...)))

Ithilien

(ooc: felt like italics. :P)

She stood, watching the water, but seeing something entirely different. Most would see the trickling of the drops of water. Others would see the ripples. Ithilien saw shadows of past, the present, and sometimes the future. There were times when the past was too much to bear, same with the future. But right now, the present was quite bearable. She saw him. Legolas. Son of Thranduil, prince of the Mirkwood Realm. She was but a servant in his house. A poor servant elf sent from Mirkwood to Rivendell, in hopes that she could serve the Lord Elrond or one of his children. Ithilien hoped that she'd be serving under Lady Arwen. News had traveled through the trees of Arwen's beauty. They called her Undomiel. And she was like the Evenstar.

(ooc: I haven't read LOTR's in a while. I might actually have to dig it out. Is there a way that we can get the quick reply boxes in this thread too?)

Sauron... a God, a Man, a Shadow? At this moment in time he chose to walk on the earth as a Man, and he was enjoying the touch of the warm southerly wind on his olive skin. The senses... strange that Iluvator had given such wonderful things to Men and to Elves and to the lesser creatures which crawled upon this world, but the gods, the closest to Him, He had not endowed with such. They did not experience sensation the way Men did, they did not feel the wind in their hair, the sun did not warm their bodies, the rain did not dampen their skin.

But Sauron chose to walk as one of them, and to experience as they did pleasure and pain, warmth and cold, even hunger and thirst. He did not envy them these senses, more he enjoyed observing the consequenses of them - the growling cramps caused by hunger, the shivering caused by cold and wet, even the sharp ache in his ears when the wind grew strong and howled around his head. All these things made him feel alive. Alive but more than that... he could not die as Men could and so easily did, he could not pine and fade away like Eru's darlings - the Elves. Because of this he was far superior to those weak and feeble beings, and yet also better than the other gods because he could speak from experience and not just imagine what it must be like to be mortal.

All this aided him towards his ultimate plan, and he was content to obey Morgoth at this time and seek the Silmarils which his master desired so. It would give him another chance to live amongst mortals, to study them, to play with them and to defile them as was his wont.

He paused now, gazing to the west and the land of Numenor where lived the Dunedain. One of the jewels was there, taken across the sea by Earendil as a gift from the Elves to Men for their help in the War. Elros, Earendil's brother, ruled there now, and Sauron aimed to make the island his first target. The Istari would be more difficult to overcome with their magic, the Elves even more so perhaps with their penchant for seeing what was to come, but the Men of Numenor should prove of little consequence.

The sun was rising behind him on another beautiful day as he set out, his long strides covering the dry ground easily, dark cloak flying behind him so that to an onlooker it might appear as though he were flying.

Aragorn had been commanded... requested, he corrected himself... by Elrond to be a part of the welcoming group as the strangers from Mirkwood arrived, so that he could then accompany them into the great hall for breakfast, along with some of the council members and of course Elrond himself. The young man rolled his eyes slightly at the pomp and circumstance that Elves always attached to any occasion, no matter how seemingly ordinary. He would no doubt have to endure long meetings and endless meals to give the Elders the chance to say the same things over and over again in the flowery language of the Eldar before they would be allowed to actually set off.

He was quite looking forward to the trip to Lothlorien. It had been a long time since he had been away from Rivendell on any but short hunting excursions. Not since his mother had brought him to this place as a very young child had he been so far.

For a while now he had noticed a certain new urgency in his lessons, he was beginning to be trusted with more knowledge it seemed. Perhaps Elrond finally judged him old enough to know of the mysteries surrounding him and his people, the Dunedain. He had always known of the land of Numenor of course, and had always hoped one day to travel back there once again, to the place of his birth. Now, after all the long years spent in learning so many lessons, perhaps the time was finally drawing near.

He looked up sharply at the sound of horses approaching, and saw the first of the small party arrive. He stepped forward to greet them as a young Elf alighted from the white steed which led the cavalcade.

"Mae Govannen," Aragorn greeted, bowing formally. "Welcome to Rivendell."

((Ooc: That can be Legolas or whoever, I guess! Uni I don't know if you want Mandos to be seen or not. If you do you can approach these guys or whatever... Help!!! ))

Mandos

The place was beautiful... it came to Mandos in some surprise because he had seen this place before but only briefly in his dreams. And being here was stimulating... The place was beautiful and it made his heart at peace... first time in a long time he felt peace.
And he was speeding up in his steps. He gathered everything around him with eyes. His arms spread a littl to touch the plants... And a little smile appeared on his lips as he walked further. This was something he was not expecting to feel. He closed briefly his eyes at the feeling, and allowed himself a moment of silence. And in that moment he knew already that it will be only a brief moment before darkness will come.
He will not rest like that for many years from this moment.

QUOTE (Voice)
"Mae Govannen,Welcome to Rivendell."

He opened his eyes quickly and looked to his left... There they were. Just behind the bushes he was in. Man.. and Elves. They greeted ech other in a friendly matter. And Mandos found himself staring at the man before him. This was Aragorn... He is the most important... And Mandos was curious about the man right now. Smile fell from his face as he took a deep breath. He had to walk into the group and get himself to speak with Elrond. Or maybe he should just sleep into Erlond's quoters withotu greeting others?
But as he walked and this thought occured it was already too late. They should have seen him already. He was just an inch from them.
As some of them looked in his direction Mandos bowed slightly in respect.

"I am sorry to interupt... I search the Master of this House..."

Glorfindel

Returning home had always a welcome sensation filling one lugs. The memories of every single things meeting during the road resurface when you have been away from a long period of time. Everything seems changed and yet it was the same as always, and in this one tired warrior could find solace.
Glorfindel lead his party toward the stables smiling to himself hearing the soft sighs of pleasure and relaxed banter of each warrior that was with him.

He slid down from his horse and pat his powerful neck thanking him for the company and wishing him a safe rest with the promise to see each other later. He watched as one of the stable hands walked the horse inside the large building. Only when his four footed beast had disappear in the safety of the building the ancient reborn elf turned to regard fondly his home.

The last homely home was a sight that would steal the breath away of whoever was resting his gaze upon it. But for a tired warrior it hold even so another light, the promise of a warm bath, a good bed and solid food different from lembas bread which he had been munching since one week prior.

The game has been poor during their party and the warrior had been so concerned with patrolling the borderds that they have preferred not to steal themselves from the main road in search of a deer or some rabbits to fest upon and had simply taken the elven bread with them.

Glorfindel watched as the novices he had taken with him on their first patrol rushed toward their homes, sure their parents would be delighted to have them back and in one piece altogheter.

It was not his fault if two very particular novices at their first patrol with him had returned home injured, Elladan and Elrohir hadn't been the best of elflings to teach how to be good warrior, but if truth must be told Glorfindel was surely proud to have been their mentor and to see them now as the fierce and strong warriors they were. He lazily decide to walk slowly to regain access to his quarters, his ancient friend Elrond for sure had foresaw his return and he was sure Erestor and the household had been already allerted and thus his rooms would be ready to welcome him back.

Of course news of the uncoming party had reached him and he had hurried back home, no use in presenting himself in front of the Mirkwood elves in such a guise, dirty and dusty from a patrol, but at least he was the legendary elf who had fought a and killed a Balrog he should be counted thusly.
He grinned knowing what both Elrond and Erestor may tell him if they were knowledged on what thoughts were passing through his head, but he didn't care. He rolled his eyes when he came in the main square of the house and found he had miscalculated his return.

The party of Mirkwood elves seem to have already arrived and there was no way he could walk into his rooms without being seen. He sighed and straighten up a little before walking on toward the group of mounted elves and the party from Imlardis that was greeting them.

"Mae Govannen..." he smiled as his eyes rested upon Aragorn whose name has been restored to him. He looked at the stranger talking to him and frowned, something wasn't quite right with this stranger and he wonder who he was.

"Im Glorfindel of Imlardis.." no use in adding Gondolin to his presentation "Welcome to the Last Homely House.." he winked briefly to Aragorn letting him do the talking from now on. He would greet the young man later when all the formalities would be ended.

Aragorn was inordinately pleased to see his good friend and mentor Glorfindel returning to the city. It meant that he, Aragorn, could step back and allow the Elf to take over the formalities, allowing the young man to relax a little. As he stepped back from the proceedings however he noticed a movement to his left, and turned to see a dark man standing there unnoticed.

QUOTE (Mandos)
"I am sorry to interupt... I search the Master of this House..."

The young man frowned, glancing back at the party from Mirkwood, then at Glorfindel, before allowing his eyes to rest upon the stranger. At once he remembered his manners and bowed slightly.

"Welcome to Rivendell," he said in the tongue of Man, because that was the language the stranger had used. "I am afraid you have arrived at an inopportune moment... my lord Elrond is preparing to receive guests..."

He glanced again towards the incoming party as he spoke, trying to work out the correct etiquette for such a circumstance. Finally he decided to play it by ear. Surely if Elrond had sensed any danger he would have posted more guards.

"If you would like to follow me I will see if he can see you... May I ask your name sire?" Aragorn spoke with deference, respect, but in a tone which brooked no argument.

He nodded briefly at Glorfindel, throwing him a half smile as he turned towards Elrond's quarters. Whatever it was this strange traveller wanted, Aragorn was sure the blond Elf would allow it to interfere with his own formalities.

Mandos

They were surprised to see him... It was nothing unexpected. They didn't know him and why he was here and how he passed the guards and walked out of the bushes when entrence was in the place they had just came.
And there was no good explenation for this.
Mandos didn't think of any good story to fill their minds about himself. He found himself that he was little unprepared for those events. He didn't expect to meet with Aragorn already and the elf before him...

QUOTE (Glorfindel)
"Im Glorfindel of Imlardis.. Welcome to the Last Homely House.."

Mandos's dark eyes went to the elf and a little recognision hit him. He knew him... Glorfindel... He was dead years ago. He had been before to Mandos's halls.
And Mandos saw him there even talked to him and listened as he pleaded to be released from prison of his soul. Mandos remembered it... very well. But he wasn't in his human form those days. And so Glorfindel would not know who he was... which is what Mandos was glad about. This would make his mission harder.
As Glorfindel spoke to him Mandos bowed with his hand upon his heart with deep respect. And this elf before him indeed deserved this respect. He had not said anything towards the elf but allowed himself a little smile drift upon his lips.....This was one of many surprise upon his way, he thought. He had not seen everything yet.

QUOTE (Aragorn)
"Welcome to Rivendell, I am afraid you have arrived at an inopportune moment... my lord Elrond is preparing to receive guests..."

Mandos returned his dark gaze upon Aragorn and listened with a little frown.
Receive guests, ofcourse. This meeting will begin something that wiil shake whole Middle-Earth, Mandos knew it. It will start a destiny for many of those who stands here in this place... Destiny of Mandos included.

QUOTE (Aragorn)
"If you would like to follow me I will see if he can see you... May I ask your name sire?"

A little smile returned to his face but as the man asked the question it faded away and a little frown returned. Name? Ofcourse they would want to know your name! You had prepared fake one before! What was it?
And the tone of Aragorn's voice told him that he should answer without hasitation. And he intended to do so!

"I'm Aerin" he said and bowed his head. "I would be very greatful..." he said looking into Aragorn's eyes, deep into them. This was a great man... Mandos hoped that in time he will do the things that destiny wanted of him. And Mandos will be able to help him. And others...

Glorfindel

To be at home once again was wonderful, he looked at the delegation just arrived and smiled before once again bowing to them. Judging from their colors they must be coming from Mirkwood, once called Greenwood before the darkness spreading in middle earth came claiming their lands.

He respected those elves, they keep their country safe, sacrificing themselves and their blood on the land. He placed his hand over his chest and bowed to them. "Mae govannen... welcome to Imlardis." he winked to Aragorn as he passed by and took a step back.

He would let the younger man take over the role of master of the house, it would teach him how to move around guest when his time as King would arrive. And Glorfindel was sure it would came such a time, Aragorn would return to Gondor and claim the throne that was rightful his.

"I hope you had a safe trip to our land... and I hope your stay would be a pleasant one." he hoped he had not hurt their feelings coming to their presence in his dishevel looks.

Open back for buisness! :)

For those that are not knowledged in the Game so far here is a small summary of the plot we wish to use from now on:

This is basically an AU, it will follow the years of Aragorn as he is still in between the loved life as one of the Sons of Elrond and the fact he must accept chieftancy as the leader of the Dunedain.

We will follow randomically the fact that will bring the first alliance of Men and Elves, a great dark power is rising in the South, Greenwood the Great is slowly being corrupted by the evil and slowly Ugul (the giant spiders) and Yrcs (orcs) are making themselves know there. (that's why this RP is a AU... for Aragorn wouldn't be born then... XD)
Sauron as the dark evil wants more power and in the secrets of Mounth Doom has crafted his precious Ring.

But to gain more power, to gain more land he needs follower and the time is not yet right for him to make his power know to the whole Arda. He is slowly capturing those creatures that he would break at his whim, Elves tortures and muthilated that he will bend into Orcs.

The disapparence of Elves and Worthy men has both races sospicious of each others, yet they know they must ally to understand what was really happening.
Under the consuel of the most powerful Maiar on Middle Earth they call forth a Council.

Elves from the three realm are called and Men from Rhoan, Gondor and Southrun are called to meet and decide what would be the best route to follow to put an end of those kidnapping.

Aragorn is a young man barely out of his teens, we could have many characters such as: Boromir, Faramir, Eomer and Eowyn but they should be nothing more than children, or young teens.

The story so far:

- A delegation of Elves from Greenwood the Great is coming into Imlardis to confer with the Lord Elrond to discuss the growing darkness at their borders and choose what to do. Between them one of the Prince of the Realm, Legolas is taking his father's message to the great Lord of the Last homely house.

- Mandos, one of the Vala, is walking on Arda pursuing a deed he himself alone know.
- Aragorn is still in Imlardis, welcoming the guests and awaiting the council with curiousity.

- Glorfindel Senescal of Elrond and General of his army has just returned from a patrol on the borders and is taking in the news of the incoming party.

Elladan

(Posted Image)

Elladan the older of the sons' of Elrond was watching from his rooms as the party from Mirkwood was slowly making their way toward his home. He also saw Glorfindel's return from his patrol and the moves of his younger brother Estel toward the parties.

He grinned to himself while hurrying to add the final touches to his apparence. The warriors' braid in his hair that were signaling to everyone what was his status in the house and to those close to him which one of the twins he was.

Elladan usually mixed between his braid small gems and dots coloured of blue and gold, while his brother Elrohir used the blue and silver ones.
Looking at his reflection he grinned to himself appreciating the view and the sight that greeted him.

Taking his sword from the wall he let it slid into the scabbard hanged at his side and made his way toward the entrace of the larger bulding of the valley. Elrond's house was always hoped for traveller and those who actually could find their way into their realm.

Not all the humans were allowed inside the woods and across the river, and only a few lucky minion of the darkness, such a yrchs and goblings from the Misty Mountain, had found their way to the borders. Elladan would rode out with a group of young novices warrior to replace Glorfindel's own party and in a few days his brother Elrohir would came and replace him as well.

He strode slowly toward the stables but not before he could stop to say his goodbies and offers his greeting to the nobles guests they were having. He step beside his father just before the Last Homely House and bowed respectfully to the guest arriving. He shared an amused grin with Elrohir and a warm one with their father.
Then he turned to wait for his younger sibling to approach so he could give him a few recomandation and the promise to return, hopefully whole.

Mandos

Suddenly Mandos felt so totally unprepared for this all. And tired. He had his years, He had watched time go pass by, he watched souls disappearing into his halls... He was witness to many things and saw many that would happen but right now he felt unprepared and weak. Those in front of him were strong and even if they didn't know what will happen to them remained strong in both body and hearts. Mandos met elves only in Valinor years ago and only briefly. With men he had made contact only in his halls. After their deaths. So right now he was feeling curious about them... He knew of what they were capable of. He had seen it.

As he said his fake name - Aerin he noticed how Aragorn's brow frowned but a polite smile remained. He was probably wondering who he really was, but he showed him the entrence and told him to wait as he will send somebody to Elrond to tell him about his arrival.
Mandos had no doubt that Elrond would invite him to the Council that is about to take part. He will tell him that he is one of the Southern man... None of them arrived just now... They will be here in few days probably or would not arrive at all. Mandos sat heavly on the chair and closed his eyes trying to focus on the delegation from Southern.

Accident... fire in the woods... Arguing...

He opened his eyes with a deep breath. None of the Southern men will arrive, they will argue in the woods and kill each other. Their hearts weren't so noble as those of Gondor, Rohan or Numenor. They will breake in time to evil's strenght and power. At least for now Mandos could keep the fragile alliance between them. Just for some time...

((ooc: If anybody wants to talk to him go ahead... if not I'll write some talking with Elrond... as we don't have anybody playing Elrond anyway... If there is somebody willing to take him?? :) ))

Aragorn

Aragorn showed this stranger - Aerin to the entrence and caught one of the passing house inhabitants to inform Elrond about this arrival. There were many arrivals this day. Council was about to start in a day or two.
And Aragorn himself feared what it would bring. The alliance between men and elves was geting unsteady. Many men and elves disappeared in those times. And both sides grew untrusting towards each others.

Dunedain looked over his shoulder at Glorfindel and smiled at his friend. But his eyes caught somebody else also. Elladan was walking quickly towards the stables probably going on his patrol of the borders.
Dark-haired man walked across the courtyard and reached for the elve's shoulder.

"You are leaving, mae govannen?" he asked. "Be careful..."

Ramiel

This place was so strange and different from what Ramiel had seen before in his life. So much different from Gondor, from Dol Amroth where he was born and rised.
But he loved to be in new places! And this one was beautiful!
Smile was upon his face all the time as he walked through this unknown area. He was smiling even when he finally decided he was lost.... and didn't know where to go either to turn back or to find Rivendell's home doors!
He finally stoped and took a careful look around. It would seem that he had seen those trees and the same rock couple of times.

"I'm going in cicrles..." he said to himself and his head bowed.

His bow landed on the ground, bag and it's owner quick to follow. He sighed deeply as he sat down and hid his face in his hands. He was lost. There was no reason to worry about it though... He was sure the solution will come to him in time. For now he was tired... He walked long way. His feet hurted... and his back was strained of carrying the heavy bag.
He had to wait now, because he didn't know what to do from this point.

Arwen

A bird’s song broke into Arwen's reverie. She was wandering outside her room in Imladris, briefly allowing herself to slip into a nostalgic daydream. She felt her mother’s touch, all the way from Valinor; saw her dim reflection when she looked in the mirror; heard her voice speaking through her own at times. She had promised she would see her again when she rode the ships to Valinor—oh, how long that seemed! She missed her, having not seen her for many a mortal’s lifetimes, and knowing it would be many more until she saw her again.

Years ago, in 2509, her mother had been waylaid by orcs while traveling to Lôrien, where her kin lived. The orcs had scattered her party and captured her, and before her brothers were able to rescue her, she had suffered much at their hands. Arwen remembered the whole of it vividly. Elladan and Elrohir had brought her home, her arm torn open and bloody. Father had healed her bodily, so that there was not a trace of the ragged, hardly Elven thing they had rescued. But her mother had been too wounded in soul to have any delight left for the things of this world, and had chosen to leave them for the pleasures of Valinor.

And that was the moment she was reliving in the woods of Adar. She was happy to be in the house of her father once more; Arwen had just returned from a long visit with her grandparents, her mother’s parents, Celeborn and Galadriel. But being home brought back too many memories, and she had not realised till she had returned that the journey to relatives in Lothlorien had been as much to escape the memories as out of joy to see them.

Arwen wandered aimlessly until she rounded a large rock, almost colliding with a young Man who was sitting on the ground, looking quite tired and weary of long journey. An involuntary scream of surprise escaped her: she had never seen him before, and it surprised her to find an intruder in a garden she thought to be private. But the Evenstar soon collected herself, and offered the stranger a graceful smile, as she always did. "Mae Govannen, my lord...are you one of the guests arriving today from Mirkwood?" she asked.

Ramiel

He wasn't sitting there for a long time... It would seem that only couple of minutes passed before a scream of surprise made him jump in shock. He backed away with surprise and fear numbing his body for a second. His hand went quickly to grasp his bow in mean to protect himself. But there was no reason for doing so.
There was a beautiful dark-haired woman before him. Her face so unique.... Ramiel had never saw such perfect creature and was shocked to be siting on the ground before that woman. It lasted for some time before the stranger woman smiled at him and spoke up. Her smile felt warm to his eyes.

QUOTE (Arwen)
"Mae Govannen, my lord...are you one of the guests arriving today from Mirkwood?"

Mae Govannen? What does it meant? What kind of language was that? His mind was racing for answers but had found none. Then question came and Ramiel found himself surprised even more. Mirkwood?

"What?" it came right out of his mind. His cheeks went little red because of it. He cleared his throat and quickly gathered his thoughts. "I'm sorry my lady... I didn't arrive from Mirkwood... I never been there." a little smile broke upon his lips. "I've.... I think I'm little lost..." he gave her a wry smile and shrugged his shoulders.

Arwen Undomiel

QUOTE (Ramiel)
"What? I'm sorry my lady... I didn't arrive from Mirkwood... I never been there. I've.... I think I'm little lost..."

Arwen blushed sheepishly when the Man too seemed to blush, before he cleared his throat and apologized, then saying he was not from Mirkwood or ever been there. A kind smile appeared on his lips, his handsome feature appearing even more stunning now he was smiling. How a Man could still smile when he was lost was beyond her--she would never understand how easy Men lowered their guards in front of a lady even when they were in difficult situation,

She didn't express this thought, and simply continued to smile to the Man as he admitted that he was a little lost. "Well good sir, welcome to the Last Homely House west of the Mountains... travellers are welcome here, as I know my father and my people would love to have you in our house. You must be tired?" she asked, looking at his belonging; she could almost tell his shoulders were stiff after carrying such a load and he must like a warm meal and comfortable bed. And since he mentioned he was a little (Men, Arwen thought with a soft smile, they never change) lost, she was sure she could show him the way to her father's house.

"Forgive my sudden interuption of your rest... I am Arwen, daughter of Elrond, and this is Rivendell, my father's house. Please, let me make up for you by showing you way to our house, of course you would be able to rest better there, in the comfort of our guest chambers and after a warm, filling meal?" she suggested.

Ramiel

Ramiel was surprised to see her also blushing a little. She was so different from women he had known in his life. There was somekind of magical aura about her that his mind could not understand, he felt it inside his heart. So strange feeling! She remained smiling at him even if he acted rude towards her... and he shouldn't.
He was taught by his father that he should be nice to women... one of little things that his father actualy taught him. He was taught to be nice and kind to everybody, cause not every men or women are evil... In fact he believed that everybody can be found good no matter what. Maybe it was mistake but he had not put his mind to think otherwise.

QUOTE (Arwen)
"Well good sir, welcome to the Last Homely House west of the Mountains... travellers are welcome here, as I know my father and my people would love to have you in our house. You must be tired?"

Ramiel gathered himself and stood from the ground instincitively cleaning his trousers and cloak from ground and dust with his hand. He looked at her, squinting his eyes slightly as she spoke. Last Homely House? It was the place he wanted to reach! A wider smile appeared, he could not help it. He always were grinning like idiot... some said, but it was the part of who he was and he could not change that.
His eyes went after hers to his things on the ground. Bow, arrows and heavy bag. Well it was all he possesed in his whole life. He won't come back to Dol Amroth or at least he didn't plan to do so. Not now... There was nothing that waited for him. He was so long away from home that he didn't even now if his uncle was still alive. His mind drifted too much! He looked back at the woman and blinked couple of times to get rid of his thoughts.

Father? She was Master Elrond's daughter? She was an Elve?

Even with surprise at this Ramiel put his hand upon his chest and bowed with respect to her.

"I'm indeed little tired, my Lady..." he said politely. "But I'm used to it..."

QUOTE (Arwen)

Please, let me make up for you by showing you way to our house, of course you would be able to rest better there, in the comfort of our guest chambers and after a warm, filling meal?"

"Forgive?" he smiled at her even more. "It was me who disturbed your walk, Lady. And I apologize for that"

He then listened to her introduction and he bowed even deeper with more respect. She was an Elve!!! Blush covered his whole face as he realised that... and he felt excited about this meeting.

"I am Ramiel of Dol Amroth" he introduced himself. "And thank you kindly... I would be most greatful for your help..."

He looked at her still bowed. Observed her... She was tall... her form slender and deep wisdom buried down inside her. He cleared his throat once more and looked away. Started to gather his things and straighten up with deep breath out. The heaviness of his bag finally started to disturb him... He was so far from home... from everything he had known. He wanted to be here, but some longing for home remained in his heart.
He waited for her to lead him... his body little tense, but smile remaining.

Elladan

(Posted Image)

Smiling indulgently to his youngest sibling Elladan walked closer to him "Namaer brother, I'm heading out in a moment, have you seen Glorfindel? I am to head toward Elrohir post but wish to know how the road fare between here and there."

He held back from the urge to ruffle his younger brother's hair like he always did in the past when he was nothing more than a two legged boy rushing around and tipping over all the many root trees present.

"Are you behaving with our guests Estel?" he whispered softly no resisting the teasing just this once. he knew very well his brother was doing greatly or their father wouldn't have let him be here alone.

He had checked his weapon and he knew his men were already mounted up and waiting for him, but seriously he needed to speak with the senescal to gain more information. True it was not dangerous to dwell into his father's realm, but still better safe now than sorry later.

He bowed graciously to their new guests and stepped back letting open the way for them to go on.

then as an after thought he looked at his brother and frowned "be careful? Are you telling me I'm not always careful???" he took a step forward in a menacing way.

Arwen Undomiel

Arwen noticed how the stranger smiled wider as she told him this was Rivendell, so probably he had heard of the place before and actually looking for it, hence why he was here, lost. Some people got lost when they came here for the first time and Arwen was used to that. The Man was grinning now and Arwen offered him a small chuckle, though she hid her smile with her flowing long sleeve—she did not want the Man to think she was laughing at him, which was so impolite!

The Man had some manners in him, which at first Arwen did not think possible since he was a traveler, and from what she heard, travelers were people without nation and mostly bad lot. She was embarrassed at how shallow she could be at times, thinking everything she heard was true; this Man, until this very second, had showed how polite he was and how he respected her as a woman and an Elf… he couldn’t be bad.

QUOTE (Ramiel)
"I'm indeed little tired, my Lady. But I'm used to it… Forgive? It was me who disturbed your walk, Lady. And I apologize for that”

He said he was indeed a little tired but was used to it; it must be the Valar that lead her here, to find this man and to bring him back home! He needed a rest, and she will provide it to him, only hoping her adar wouldn’t mind—after all the Lord Elrond was busy with the arrival of the guests from Mirkwood! And did he not always teach his daughter to help people in need?

QUOTE (Ramiel)
"I am Ramiel of Dol Amroth. And thank you kindly... I would be most grateful for your help..."

“It is my pleasure, my lord, Ramiel of Dol Amroth” she bowed back at him, and then she noticed he was carrying so many! “Can I lend a hand to help you with the bow and quiver? I am sure they won’t break the lady’s back, to carry them for you?” Arwen offered; she was not by all means spoiled elf maiden and she enjoyed helping people, especially those in needs. And this man surely looked like he could use someone lending a hand with his weapons. So she took them from him, his quiver and bows, and like she had done it throughout these decades when she went out with her brothers, slung it over her shoulder.

“We are expecting a party from Mirkwood to arrive today,” she told Ramiel as she lead their way back to Rivendell, “so we are pretty busy… but the bath is ready, so you can soak and cleaned yourself while we prepare your room” Arwen told him, before she added with a gentle smile, “we will also prepare some fruits in your room, and honeyed water... then I will see Adar to see if he wishes to have you join us for dinner.”
