Gilathan stood quietly in front of the bar, staring intently at the bartender. He narrowed his eyes ever so lightly and smirks a bit. "So I can kill people for money and I won't be arrested for it?" The bartender nods. "Yes.. I've answered that five times.. If you want to see the bounties, just ask.." Gil couldn't help but grin. "But.. Money for death.. Such simplicity it is.."

The bartender sighs and pulls out the bounties. "Choose one.." The dark elf's gaze traveled over the many faces. Most of them looked hardened but some were weak looking people, probably renegade wizards and warlocks. He taps his finger on one. "This one.. is pretty unusual.."

He was confused by all means which was rare for Gilathan. The bounty had no picture, just words. 'Reward for Live Capture of Female Drow'. He scanned the next line. 'Will pay very well depending on state of female, preferably gagged and tied up for delivering purposes..'

He looks to the bartender. "I'll take this one.." The bartender looks at him like he was insane. "But isn't that your own race?" Gil just grins. "Consider it a parting gift for how things work underground.."

There is a small flicker of motion as something roughly man sized and hidden in a black cloak and hood quickly slips out the front door of the bar heading up the street hobbling slightly on a hidden limp. The motion would have been enough for someone of Gil's sense's to easily pick up on as a que to follow the suspicious figure for the creature left no sooner than he had said he would take the bounty.

His ears picked up the noise when he took the bounty. It seemed as if someone or something had heard him as the timing was no mere coincidence. He turns his eyes to gaze at the door as it swung shut, catching a glimpse of a cloak. The sight alone made him grin softly. He takes a quick walk and opens the door to the tavern, stepping outside. He was quick to react and as such, caught sight of the cloaked figure once more. He pursues after the limping figure, realizing that it was like a cat and mouse game.

He decided to play coy and keep his senses sharp in case it was some kind of trap. He had that happen once before.. Be tricked in hunting down a person to only have it be someone he did not want to see at the time.

The cloaked figure takes a sharp turn down a small alley filled with homeless people some hiding their faces in weather worn cloaks others bundled up in jackets and blankets. Looking down the alley several figures wear the same black cloak of the person Gil had been following and as he comes into sight of the alley all of the cloaked figures stand up queitly and turn to Gil. Under the hoods he can just barely glimpse bone and muscle exposed.

He halts in his step. "Bone? Necromancy? It's been a while since I saw the magic used that I believe I might be turning daft." He turns his gaze to each of the cloaked figures. He knew now. "A limp.. A messenger.." He let his gaze scan each one, before lifting his hand.

Almost as effortlessly as the cloaked beings, a blue-violet fire spreads forth along each one, highlighting their features. The flame was neither hot nor harmful, instead just a distraction. He was using it to see which of the hooded cloaks had the limp in their leg. The outline would be different than the straightened ones of the foremost cloaks.

One of the cloaked figures bows and turns to continue moving down the alley its slight limp still quite obvious to any on looker. The rest of the cloaked figures turn away from the flames being projected at them and resume the places among the other people blending in perfectly with the many homeless. The limping figure slowly comes to a halt at a door in the alley. It looks at the door distantly as it nods its head towards the door as a motion for Gil to enter. After making sure Gil saw this it slumps down against the wall near the door curled up under the cloak.

He was a bit confused, but let his hand wander near the pommel of his dagger just in case. He looked at the door as he neared it and then at the figure. Never being one to pass up an opportunity, he kneels down just a bit and with a quick motion, stabbed the cloaked person that was obviously controlled. A liability if they were alive. The blade disappeared into the figure only to be pulled out with a quick motion, the attack so fluid that if it was a living person, no blood would stain the blade. He sheathed the blade itself and walked to the door, opening it slowly.

The figure slumps down to the floor in front of the door as he opens it to reveal a dark room that seems to take up the whole bottom floor of the building. All that can be seen is the dark along with what sounds like slightly dry wood creaking. A small raspy voice can be heard addressing Gil.

"Come in and close the door your letting the light in."

"What's the matter, distracted by it? Maybe if I illuminated the rest of the place.. a few holes here and there, you'll start to see the bright side of life.." He lifts his hand up. "Who are you and why did you summon me.."

"The darkness is merely here to help you if you wish I shall light the way but it is not I who have summoned you but rather your own suspicion which has lead you to me."

The raspy voice continues talking for a moment its words directed to Gil. There is a pinpoint of light at the far end of the room that flares into existence just as the slumped figure of the stabbed creature leaps up pushing Gil into the room causing the door to close behind them. The creature doesn't wait for even a second as no sooner had it shoved Gil in than it just as quickly throws itself off him and goes running off towards the source of light which appears to be a single candle lending its glow to what a appears to be a mummy bound in bandages now waving the match to put the flame out while being careful not to put out the candle.

He fell to the ground only to spring up from his fall just as quickly. He noticed the figure dart past him and his dagger was instantly drawn, the blade hidden amongst the darkness, just showing the unique pommel. "And what suspicions have led me to you?"

"Suspicions that my friend here had left when you took that bounty. However you would be surprised at how one thing may look like something else."

The mummy sits down in a chair adding the creak of the chair to the still continuous creaking wood sound.

"Not everything is as it seems young one..."

A small thin silver chain gently slides out from the mummies folds where the mummies finger could grasp it.
