Though anger once resided on her face, she now flashed disappointment, she could sense the hatred Ruri felt towards him, there could’ve been a chance to settle it and now there was no chance. Invidia didn’t know what to think or to do. She did feel attraction to him, yet he upset Ruri, her god. Perhaps Ruri would hold nothing against her for falling for her enemy? She hoped so… His apologetic look consuming him filled her with guilt, it made her feel sorry. She hated her sympathetic emotions; it always changed the course of her moods and actions… A hand tenderly reached for his own, the chain chiming after her movements as she took his hand in hers. Ruri hadn’t dismissed him from her territory, she restrained herself and she was grateful, she still cared about her wants and feelings. She hadn’t seen him until now, and it hadn’t been long enough for her. If he left would there be a chance to see him again? Or would he abandon her? Either way, he should’ve known the first place to look for her, the gateway. Her eyes begged him to stay, just seeing him once had turned her into a love struck woman. She couldn’t tell if it was an infatuation or not, she prayed every time she thought about him that it was something more.

Ruri was not pleased, and she made it clearly evident. On top of the fact that he refused her alliance, she harbored the inherent hatred for him that truly ruined all chances for them to even get along on simplistic levels. A brief moment was wasted, hesitating, staring at the Goddess’ back as she turned, and then he sighed and shrugged weakly, turning back away from her to instead face Invidia, not the one he had come to see but a welcome surprise. Smiling weakly, he gazed at her, a longing in his heart. He was not welcome in this temple, not right now, no matter how much Ruri would want to make Invidia happy. So long as there was enmity between the two, he would not stay longer than he had to, and as much as he wanted to visit with Invidia, now, in this place, was simply not the time. And there’s no telling how she’d react once he… Acted. So to drag her along with him with the false hope that she would accept the purge of the world, regardless of whether or not they deserved it, and then to find out she would … Shaking his head, he saw as she reached her hand out to him, and he stepped closer, grabbing her soft palm in his own and holding tight. Leaning in close, his lips brushed up against her ear and he whispered softly to her,

“It was lovely seeing you. We’ll do it again sometime, I promise.” With a smirk on his face, he stepped back away from her softly and clasped the chains that bound Invidia with his metal gloved hands, the sound of metal on metal ringing softly in the library, and shook them, making the chiming noise once more. “And perhaps we’ll get some use out of these.”

His voice trailed softly through the air, alluding to what, only she would have to guess. There was a certainty in his voice, and with every sincerity, he meant what he said. He saw the longing in her eyes, and he too wished to stay, but circumstances would not allow it. Not comfortably, anyways, and he was not going to ask Ruri to leave her own temple so he could spend time with her Gate Keeper, alone. With a wink, and a smile, Cyric vanished from where he stood, the small suckling and pop that accompanied his teleportation resounding quietly.

“It was lovely seeing you. We’ll do it again sometime, I promise.”

A small smile slipped onto her lips as he whispered into her ear, her body leaned towards him, as he whispered, craving more of his touch and to feel his breath more upon her ear, yet he pulled back and took her chains into his hand. Curiosity perked upon her features, her smile disappearing as a frown staked its claim.

“And perhaps we’ll get some use out of these.”

For one who never held any particular kinky ideas, she was left with a blank mind, failing to catch the prediction of their future together. What sort of use could he get out of the chains? Perhaps a duel? Of course she’d be more than happy to partake in it. He winked at her and smiled, she only gave him a shy smile until she realized he was leaving. She had only a moment of distraught run through, yet this wasn’t the end of him. She’d see him again… With her common frown, she looked up at Ruri tending to the shelves. Cyric was gone and now she was back with Ruri…
