We go time-travelling with Busted's new mates, McFly. To see where they end up, read on...
TOTP: So, McFly what's your goal? Dougie: Just to get a career out of it! Harry: There are so many little things you can do well, like videos, singles, albums, get awards - we just hope to last. TOTP: You sound very rock 'n' roll... Danny: Live we are yes, loud 'n' hard-hitting but our records are more pop. TOTP: Does it worry you to be connected with Busted so much? Harry: Hmm... Not many people have heard our music yet - as soon as our album's out I think they'll totally understand us. We've got a different sound to Busted, more of a '60s influence. The only connection is that we know them and I write with James. TOTP: Have you got any other mates in bands? Tom: There's a boy band called V, who're under the same management as us and we all know each other. Harry: One of my friends from Uppingham, you know the school where Charlie went? He left the same time as me to join a band. Last time I heard, they were called Outbreak and are trying to get a record deal. TOTP: Is your school like some Pop Academy? Dougie: [chuckles] No, but there are loads more good musicians in the school! TOTP: So do you have the hippest music teacher in the universe? Harry: No, he's just the hippest guy. TOTP: You guys have named yourselves after a famous time traveller [Marty McFly from Back To the Future]. If you could go back in time to any period in pop, where would you go? Harry: I'd definitely go back to the '60s - what a cool era that was! Danny: Yeah definitely! None of those electric drums from the '80s! TOTP: What was it about the '60s - all the free love? Danny: Yeah! And all them hippies! Harry: Pop was the Beatles - they're like the biggest pop band ever. Harry: It was cool to be a pop band back then. Nowadays if you're pop and playing guitars 'n' stuff, people look down on it and say you can't play your instruments. Dougie: Plus you didn't know that drugs were so bad for you and you could take loads. Harry: [Sternly] Not that we ever would! TOTP: Erm, quite. If you could go back to that era, is there anything you would change? Harry: No, 'cause you destroy the universe if you go back and change it! Danny: I'd go back in time and build every British road straight, like in America. Dougie: We'll have to write a song about it... [hums]Straight Roads! TOTP: Busted had a big obsession with Britney, has that rubbed off on you guys, so to speak? Dougie: [Looks sheepish] We have obsessions for Britney too. Danny: For women in general! We've got a Babe Way at home. Harry: Yeah we've got an archway in our living room and we cut out all these fit girls and stuck them on there.
