First off I should tell I have two NES consoles. One that works, one that does not.
I began to explore the one that does not. It opned easy, unscrews with a normal screwdriver. All the stuff comes off... And... Underneath the cartrdge "cage" (slot thiny on a lever)... Was... a... huge... Cockroatch! Actually, 2/3rds of one. It was aparently smashed to bits when someone loaded a game. There's a little puddle of roach juice on the board, too. Some fragments of shell, that I saw before told me "A roach was here". And it was a big one too! Like, two inches long and half an inch wide. Six tall legs... The kind you'd see in a nighmare. On a side note, anyone know how to clean bug juice off of computer circuitry? |

I'd assume making sure it's off and using a warm, damp cloth would be your best bet
