Yeah, about the topic title, I though it would be appropriate.

Zephyr city was really beautiful; not like most cities. There were plants in post hanging from street lights, gardens next to sidewalks, flowers growing in between two lanes going in different directions; it was a floral city.
Meral reached the town and immediately pulled out her PokéNav. The Pokémon Centre was 7 blocks away, and the Poké Mart was 14. The Gym was on the other side of the town. Meral decided to head to the Pokémon centre first, and briskly walked towards a crosswalk with 40 seconds left on the clock.
She passed some interesting stores. Among them were "Miscellaneous" with a picture of a Misdreavous and a Mismagius above the sign. Another was "Delibirds Gift Shop". Others included "The Stanler Inn", "Tyranitar's Tower" and "Onix's Den". The Pokémon Centre was just around the corner now.

There is a comotion in a tight, dark alley going around and behind the Pokemon Center. You see two men dressed in black, one short, one tall, both with big R's on their chests.

They are partially blocking a little girl from view, and the tall one is holding a pink bag above her head.

"No! You can't have my Clefairy and Jigglypuff! They're mine! I love them!", she wails.

"Heh", says the shorter one moving a bit; now you can see that the little girl is crying. "I think you mean our Clefairy and Jigglypuff!".

The little girl spies you and her face is filled with hope. "Will you help me? If you fight one, I can take the other! I'm stronger than I look! Please?"

The men turn in shock. "Whadda we do about this?", the tall one asks. "We beat this punk and take twice as many Pokemon back to HQ!".

While the bullies are distracted, the girl grabs her pack and fishes a couple of Poke'balls out. "Clefairy, I choose you!". The tall bully murmurs "I got this one! Ekans, go!"

Throughout this exchange, the shorter guy stared at you; it was obvious that he was in charge. "Carvahna, come out!", he snarls. A blue and red fish Poke'mon with a disproportionatley huge set of fangs pos out. "Vahna!", it cries menacingly.

Meral frowned in disapointment. Team Rocket and Team Galactic working together? This could get bad for all three sides, as Team Galactic and Team Rocket were bound to turn on each other. (this is a hint for much later, so please disregard this paragraph completly).

Always one to easily get over initial shock, Meral pulled out a Poke Ball with a Lapras Sticker on it. "A Carvanha, eh? No matter. Go Lapras!" She threw up the red and white ball and it flipped backwards once, twice, three times before hitting the ground with a thud, For a second nothing happened, but then it popped open, unleashing the Transport Pokemon which closely resembled a sea reptile of ancient and Prehistoric times.
"Lapras, use Thunderbolt, please," Meral asked in a causal tone.

I'm in the car right now, and I have no idea if I'll have access at the hotel.

Plot twist for the future, is it?

The shorter grunt glared at his partner. "Well have your stupid snake take the shot!" He beckoned to the electricity crackling from the transport Pokemon.

The other man looked puzzled. "W-Wha...? Why Ekans?"

"Because," the short man rolled his eyes. "My Carvanha is weak to electric attacks. And seeing that I'm the better battler, we can't have my Carvanha get knocked out, can we?!"

The other man grumbled and reluctantly muttered, "Ekans! Take the attack!" The purple snake slithered forth and was hit by the stream of electricity. It cringed from the impact of the attack, but it still managed to stay conscious, although it seemed to be paralyzed.

"Clefairy! Use Metronome!" the girl commanded, looking nervous at the prospect of the battle. Clefairy waggled its fingers happily and a second later, there was a flash of silver light and Clefairy was jumping up and down happily, flapping its arms and looking very much like a Magikarp...

"Oh no! Not a Splash Attack!" the girl wailed as a sweat-drop appeared on her head. The two opponents seemed to be having a good laugh at her expense.

This is just like in D/P, where Rowan's assistant, Lucas, has that Clefairy which always uses the WRONG attack at the WRONG time...

Really? Dawn/Lucas's Clefairy always used good moves likes Return and Flare Blitz teamed I team up.

While her opponents were distracted by Clefairy's Splash Attack, Meral focused on the task at hand. Sure, it wasn't nice to attack while your foes were distracted and not pasying attention, but it was rude not to pay attention in the first place; but crooks like this shouldn't be shown manners, they shouldn't be shown any kind of respect if they think that they're doing the right kind of thing; if they think that what they're doing is cool than let them think that, but they're the people who are getting nowhere in life; the people who set themselves up for failure right from the start, that's who these crooks and all crooks are.
Hence, Meral wispered to Lapras to use another Thujnderbolt attack on Carvanha. Since Ekans was Paralysed, why not take full advantage of this oppertunity?

Lapras seemed to know to be quiet. It colloected electrical energy and shot it at the Carvanha, which let out a little bark of pain. It was stii to conciousness.

The Grunts turned their attentions to the Carvanha.
"You morom!" the smaller one admonished. "You were supposed to have the snake take those!"

"It's not my fault if--", the tall one began.
"Shut up. Carvanha, use bite!". It seemed that the boos grunt was becoming afraid.

Carvanha rushed forward depite its wounds. It had to be said--it was a tough little fish! Clamping it's jaws on Lapras' fin, it toosed its head around a bit before letting go. It retreated.

Just as it did so, the little girl pipied up: "Clefairy, use Water Pulse on the Carvanha!" She seemed to think it was a big help. She had a lot of heart, if not the best battling skills.

The Clefairy toddled to the Carvanha. As it did, it filled the air between them with undulating waves of water. When they hit, the Carvanha barely seemed to notice, but the Clefairy--and its trainer-- seemed so darn proud of themselves!

"Ekans", hissed the tall grunt, "use Poison Sting on that Lapras!".
The Ekans nodded its head and shot a slim glistening dart at Lapras, who grimaced, but seemed to have avoided being poisoned.

Meral knew that even though Ekans was Paralysed and Carvanha was deeply injured, they had a shot at losing. Glancing at her partner, Meral clanched her teeth. She was a beginner and even attack done right made her happy. Meral had to win this battle, for her.

"Lapras, use Thunderbolt on Carcanha," Meral shouted, and than added to her nameless partner, "Distract Ekans with Water Pulse!" Hopefully the message sank in. If not, than Meral would have to finish this battle herself, because Thunderbolt would 2KO Carvanha and 3KO Ekans.

"Dodge Carvanha! Dodge it!", the bossy grunt shouted worriedly.

Carvanha tried to, but it was, of course, a fish. As such, it merely slid forward a few inches. The Thunderbolt landed and the Pokemon fell on its side, flopping like a Magikarp. KO!

"Darn it!", the short grunt muttered. "Carvanha, return." He held up a Great Ball, pressing the center button. A beam of light engulfed the Carvanha; when it disapeared, the Poke'mon was gone.
Turning to the taller grunt, he barkerd, "Your stupid Ekans better not mess this up--you know what the boss'll do if we lose!"

The tall gangster nodded tersely. "Ekans," he commanded. "Use Poison Tail on that Lapras!" Ekans' tail began to glow purple and slither towards Lapras, but--

"Clefairy, use Water Pulse on the Ekans!", the little girl seemed to be getting the hang of battle.

Clefairy rushed to stand between the Lapras and the Ekans, aiming the waves at the latter. Ekans caught the atack and fell to the ground. It looks as if he is KO'd but it jumps up quickly and uses Poison Tail--on a trash can. Ekans is confused!

How is there a rock in an alley?

Meral's clenched teeth turned into a grin. Her nameless partner and Clefairy were getting the hang of this battle. Ekans was super weak, so it was time to finish this battle.

"Use Water Gun," Meral shouted, caught up in the moment.

The tall grunt looked frightened. He yelled, "Ekans, use Atract!".

Ekans, to its credit, obeyed without question. The only problem was that it still thought that the garbage can was Lapras. It made big puppy dog eyes and snuggled up to it, completely oblivious to the Water Gun that was hrurtling towards it. The spray finished the job; Ekans fainted. KO!

"Tis is all your fault!". Aparently, the bossy mobster was unhappy. "When we tell the boss this, don't forget to mention that you ruined everything, so it's your fault we can't bring him another Clefairy."

His partner remains silent. Turning to you, the little one says I hope you're happy, punk. You just had to go sticking your nose into Team --- our business." With that, he stomps away, accomplice in tow.

When they are gone, the little girl hugs you firmly around the middle, exclaiming, :You saved my Pokemon! Thank you, thank you!".

When she releases you, she hands you a small bag of money (:$:500). My Mommy says when a trainer beats you, you're supposed to give them some money. But those meanyfaces", her face screws up in disgust on this word, "didn't, so I'll pay you instead!".

[Meral]

Meral simply smiled at the little girl's innocence.
"No, you don't need to pay me. those were just bad people. Besides, you're too young to be giving away your money when you lose. Now let's get you home."

Meral walked out pf the dark alley and started off before stopping.

"Errr...wait. Where is your home?"

[Snattle]

"Oh, don't worry about me! I'll find my way home! I know this town like the back of my hand!" she said smiling in admiration up at you. "But I feel terrible not repaying you after you just helped me out..." he eyes suddenly lit up as she got an idea. "I got it!" She rummaged through the bag slung over her shoulder and pulled out a small, colorless egg. "I have a lot of Cleffa Eggs," she replied. "But the Day-Care lady gave me this one by mistake, even though it wasn't mine! She wouldn't even let me give it back to her! Maybe you'd like to keep it...since you're so strong I'm sure you'll be a good trainer for...er, whatever Pokemon it is!"

[Meral]

"Ohhh..." Meral's eyes twinkled at the very thought of the Pokémon inside the egg, waiting to be hatched. Maybe an Igglybuff? Or a Ditto -- wait, you can't breed Ditto. Porygon would be cool, but a Happini would be awesome! Oooh, or a Togepi. Togepi would definitly be the Pokémon she wanted to hatch from this egg, although there were a ton of Pokémon out in this world, and the odds of it being a Togepi were...actually not very low.

"Why thank-you! I'll take good care of it!" Meral smiled, and the little girl walked off to her house.

Meral was walking along the streets of Zephyr city, towards the Pokémon Centre with the colorless egg in her hands. What a day. She had saved a Wurmple and a bunch of Venonat, and now a little girl! Well, you could never do too much good in the world. But even so...

...those two men...what were the up to? Her mind flashed back.

"When we tell the boss this, don't forget to mention that you ruined everything, so it's your fault we can't bring him another Clefairy."

So what did it all mean? What was so great about Clefairy, and why did Team Rocket, and possible Team Aqua, want them? Clefairy did come from the moon, but it's not like they're aliens or anything, right?

"Ah, the Pokémon Centre!" Meral said to herself. time to go inside.

[Kumori]

"Hi hi!" said a very perky young girl, who was surprisingly wearing a nurse's outfit. She examined Merals look, and especially stared at the egg she was carrying. Her eyes lit up, and she yelled, "Finally! Another trainer came!"

Nurse Joy came running into the room seeming to be very busy. She noticed Meral and said, "Mint, they need you in Emergency Room 2...Oh, hello...um, trainer. This is our intern here, Mint. She just started last week."

[Meral]

Meral waited until Mint was out of earshot before commenting, "So I see".

She paused for a second while Nurse Joy gave her a funny look. Finding the silence disturbing, Meral began again. "I was wondering if you had an Egg Case I could use for this, erm, something egg. Also, I would ask if you could heal my Pokémon, but if you're too busy we can wait..."

[Snattle]

"Oh of course," the nurse replied, trying to look cheerful but the sleepiness was apparent on her face. "And don't worry about it, dear, we'll heal up your Pokemon too. Chansey! Could you be a dear and heal this trainer's Pokemon for me with your Softboiled attack?"

As the nurse disappeared in the back room to get you an Incubator, a small plump pink Pokemon with a nurse's hat came waddling into the room with a small tray. With a happy smile, she pointed into the tray as if indicating you to put your Pokeballs there.

"NO! Pachirisu, come back please!" came a familiar shout, which sounded like Mint's voice. There was a flash of fluffy white fur and suddenly, a small squirrel Pokemon was sitting on the counter, smiling in a cheerful, yet naughty, manner. "Pachi Pachiii!" it said, giving an adorable smile to a passing trainer and then taking the opportunity to snatch the hat off his head and run around in circles with it clenched between its jaws. Both Mint and the hat's owner chased Pachirisu around the reception area, earning them many stares and eye-rollings from those nearby.

[Meral]

Meral simply sighed at the amusing sight of the intern and a trainer chasing a white and blue squirrel around for a hat. She nonchalantly pulled Exeggcute's Poké Ball out of her bag (since she was yet to place her Poké Balls on the tray) and tossed it up in the air with her fingers, caught it with her hand and therefore let Exeggcute out in a subdued flash of light.

"Use Psychic on Pachirisu," Meral commented. Let Exeggcute start before adding, "maybe we'll finally get some peace in our lives".

Exeggcute vibrated as colorful dics shot out and his Pachirisu. It's eyes were a neon blue. Pachirisu then glowed a neon blue color as it was immobilized. Exeggcute was also giving off the same aurora. Mint grabbed Pachirisu and Exeggcute returned back to normal, allowing for her to see the whites of Exxegcute's eyes.

"Exeggcute, why don't we have Chansey heal you first? I'll out Wurmple, Surskit, Igglybuff and Lapras in the tray, okay?"

[Snattle]

"Eh, maybe you should just give me Lapras's Pokeball and I'll let her out in the back," the nurse had reappeared, looking sheepish. "I don't know if it will fit in the tray..." she pulled a small golden yellow Egg Case from behind her back. It was the perfect size for the egg, with a small but powerful lamp inside (to incubate it), soft padding on the bottom, and a pokeball on the top of the case to catch the Pokemon in the Egg with.

"Here you are! I hope that is sufficient!" she smiled.

Mint was goggling at Exeggcute and you with wide eyes, clutching the little Pachirisu between her arms. "Woow! That was totally awesome!" she said, her eyes sparkling with admiration. "What a totally cool move! Oh I would so love to see you enter a Contest or something! So are you entering one anywhere close by, huh?"

Another attendant who happened to be listening into the conversation merely let out a fake cough and muttered quickly under his breath, "You're better off not telling...she'll stalk you like crazy..."

[Meral]

Sorry for all the typos in that post! I was kind of distracted when typing that.

"Oh, thank-you!" Meral exclaimed, taking the nice egg case from the Nurse. It would be a shame if I accidentally dropped this egg - it's quite an encumberment. "Now, here's Lapras's PokéBall and here's Surskit's PokéBall. I'll put Igglybuff and Wurmple here next to each other," Meral was talking to herself as she arranged the PokéBalls in every which way, before the Nurse could tell her it really didn't matter which order they were in.

Meral then turned to Mint. "So, what do you know about contests?" Apperantly Meral didn't here the attendant who warned her.

"Oh, there's one coming up somewhere in Thaumaturgic Town...." she said dreamily. "I already pre-ordered some tickets, which nobody really does, but I do ahead of time because I'll forget otherwise! But there are a lot of really skilled people who enter the Contests! And all the Pokemon are so pretty, which is why I love going there! And all the people who you battle at Thaumaturgic Town are all so nice...if you're a Trainer or Coordinator or Breeder they give you free Pokeball stickers and accessories if you win against them! And then there's the Poffin station where you can make all these great bread-like things that up your stats in a Contest and everything! But watching the performances is the best part...lke I remember last time this girl did this absolutely stunning display with a Lumineon..." her eyes twinkled as she continued to babble inaudibly about this Lumineon's performance.

[Meral]

"Um, okay...and when does this end?" Meral's thoughts were sort of like an 'opps, my bad' feeling right now, as it was certainly best not to get Mint on the subject of contests because, well, it might come back to haunt you. Meral didn't say anything about planning on entering the contest did she? Nope, she didn't, and the person who tells Mint will wake up underwater in Cuba. For right now she should just work on training and leveling up her Pokémon and working on a contest strategy. If she jumped ahead of herself it could end up badly, and winging it was never a good thing when you only get one shot. Never.

Now Mint had started babbling about something else, or was it still the same thing? Meral hadn't been paying much attention, as Mint was in her element, and was pretty oblivous to everything around her. Meral prodded Nurse Joy lightly. "Nurse Joy, would you mind if I watched you in the healing process? I've always been curious as to how it's done." It might make Mint parler me-vous as well."

[Snattle]

"Oh, sure," the Nurse smiled. "It's rare that a trainer ever shows any interest in our work, so it would be my pleasure. Our machine is having a few difficulties so we'll have Blissey heal them up if that's okay." She placed the tray on a low table where Blissey was standing, smiling sweetly and waggling its tiny hands, as if preparing itself.

"Softboiled, Blissey!" Blissey suddenly started glowing a faint peach color as behind her, an illusion of an egg suddenly appeared out of nowhere, The egg cracked open and vanished in a puff of thin mist which floated around the Pokeballs before landing on top of them and being absorbed into them.

"Good as new!" she proclaimed, speaking a bit loudly in order to be audible over Mint's continuous blabbering. (who she was talking to was beyond anyone...many passing travelers who had just arrived into the Center were staring at her strangely.)

OOC: Meral told me to meet here. Meral's here, so I'll just join this thread. Okay?

I come in the pokemon center out of breath after running all over the place looking for the center. I finally get there and have to just stop and rest. Runnings hard when carrying a large pokemon egg. I walk up to the nurse and set the egg on the counter. I reach in my bag and pull out the four pokeballs holding Pikachu, Ivy, Chimchar and Carnivine.

"Excuse me, but could you take a look at my pokemon? Do you have any food? I don't know about Ivy, Chimchar, or Carnivine, but Pikachu and I haven't eaten a thing since we left Burgundy town. Also, is there any way you could see how the egg is doing? I picked it up outside town. So I don't know what is with it. It was abandonded, so I don't know if it's bad or not"

At this point, Carnivine pops out of it's ball and starts looking around, then goes and walks off towards a vending machine and looks at the food. It takes one of it's vines and reaches in like no human could and starts to take snacks out of it. Dissapearing into it's large mouth, gulps at a time.

"AH! Carnivine stop it! I don't think I could pay for all those! Stop it!"

I try to recall it into it's pokeball but it dodges every shot I make. I get so fed up I run over to it and jump up on it. I shove the pokeball in it's face and put it back in. I take a small loop and tighten it around the pokeball to keep it from opening. I give a sigh of relief and put the pokeball on the tray.

"Um, I'm really sorry. How much do I owe you now? I'll pay for what my Carnivine ate."

Chrome's thoughts drift, he starts thinking about how he helped Bonsly on the route.

(Heh, maybe I should have been a ranger if I do that a lot...)

At that, I realize I have no idea where I am. I know I'm at a pokemon center, but that's about it. I don't even know where the gym is.

[Meral]

"You just use Softboiled? That's really neat," Meral remarked. "I might get a Blissy myself someday, they're so cute!" At this she made to hug Blissey, which made Blissey very, erm, blissful. However this happy moment was interupted by none other than Chrome as he had issues with Carnivine and the vending machine.

"What a complete rookie," thought Meral. "He'd just better stay outta my way."
She tapped Mint on the shoulder, who was still blabbling about contests with her eyes closed. It took a bit before Meral finally grabbed hold of Mint's shoulders and shook her back and forth. "Mint, a trainer needs your assistance!"

Snattle, since we're RPG Buddies I'm going to pull an Arze and say we can mod each others journies as long as we keep it reasonable. If you feel we're going uber feel free to jump in with some problem to bring us back down to level.

[Chrome]

Upon hearing this, Chrome points to the pokeball and yells over

"Are you a nurse? I could use some help over here please!"

Ivy pops out of her ball, but she stays at Chrome's feet. "Ivy, you need to get back in the ball and healed." Ivy just shook her head. "That's right, you were never hurt were you? Well okay. You can stay with me a while." Chrome starts to scratch her behind the ears Ivy obviously enjoying it.
