Mykle was completely ecstatic. He had just received his first Starter pokémon, Top. Wow, he never would have thought he'd choose a fighting Type, considering he's not much of a fighter. But when the professor show him it, he had to have it. "Top, buddy come on out!" I said throwing a pokéball in the air, and out shinin a red beam of light which had apparated into a tyrogue.

"Rogue, Ty ty." Top said bowing down, in a Japanese Style introducing himself.

"Hey Buddy. You okay? You excited?" I asked eagerly and Top just smiled and nodded in reply.

The weather on the Route was cheerful and inviting as per usual, with Pokemon scampering about happily. Top looked around, observing his surroundings with a silent gaze. All was silent and cheerful, when...

SNAP! Top leapt up artfully, landing on your other side, just as a huge pair of jaws appeared, scraping the dirt in the spot where Top had been standing seconds before. Looking closely, you could see a large, green flytrap Pokemon hanging upside down on one of the trees, grinning wickedly and drooling in a manner that made it look particularly sadistic. Its eyes were wide and round as it stared almost hungrily at its target, who glared back with equal force.

Is it Carnivine? Ooh, I love Carnivine, it's a shame I don't have a Mawile on this team. They'd have made a good pair. Egg Moves?

"Hmm, so who are you then buddy?" Mykle asked rhetorically and looked down on his red pokédex which gave a few stats and information on the currently anonymous, large jawed pokémon. One could only guess it was a Grass type, but he didn't know for sure. "Whatever you are, my Top will have you for breakfast."

Top meanwhile gave the pokémon a death stare and said "Ty Ty Rogue." waiting for a Command.

"Top, ease in with a Tackle." Mykle orders an eager Tyrogue, who leaps from his side with great balance and gymnasticism and launches himself forward for a tackle.

Top dashed towards the Pokémon and jumped swiftly backwards just in time to miss a huge, green and slightly thorny vine, which was the size of Top. Top jumped once again and pushed himself arms first off a tree trunk and onto the large, green thingy. A squal could be heard and Top emerged, looking perfectly healthy. After it emerged a floating, green Pokémon. Carnavine!

"Ty! Rouge, Rouge!" Tyrouge taunted, holding out his hand and giving the 'gimme some' motion.

"Now, a Fake Out!" Mykle ordered a rather cocky Top. He was glad to see that his Tyrogue was confident one.

"Rogue Rogue." Top said, it probably would have meant 'Come and Get It.' or some sort of Trash Talk. Tyrogue then did as ordered and used a Fake Out.

However, it didn't work--as Tyrouge sidestepped and delivered the punch in the opposite direction Carnivine simply absorbed the blow with its vines. Furthermore, Carnivine sent Top the Tyrouge flying a few feet with a pound attack delivered with a rather thorny vine. Top landed with a thud on his butt and promptly stood upright, completely ignoring the fact that almost 25% of his health was gone. Surely the enthusiast, if anyone was, it was Top.

Mykle looked on a the situation, feeling sorry for the Tyrogue, who still flipped about artfully and readied himself for another attack on the big green pokémon.

"Top, try another Tackle." Mykle requested, the ever confident Tyrogue. He loved that Tyrogue, there was nothing better than a pokémon who was full of spunk.

"Ty." Said an eager and persistent Tyrogue who leaped forward to tackle the Carnivine.

Top made contact, and Carnivine was sent flying. Carnivine came to the conclusion that the battle as a lost cause when it hit the ground, and it fled into the trees via it's vines, leaving a very. very dissapointed Tyrouge. Not discouraged, Tyrouge sent a few boomerang-shaped waves into the trees, and Carnivine's cries could be heard as they made contant. satisifed enough, Top sat down and looked up at when it had used Vacuum Wave, as if expecting for something to fall down.

Top grew to Lv. 6.

Mykle smiled at Top. "Although the Carnivine fled, I'm still proud of you. You did great buddy, really." He said to a rather displeased looking Tyrogue.

"Ty Ty." Top said smiling a little bit, at least he made Mykle proud, He sure as hell wanted two things, a battle, one which lasted to the thick of the end, and a new buddy on the pokémon team. His trainer is a Co-Ordinator, although extremely skilled at fighting, being a fighting-type and all, Tyrogue knew he couldn't do much for an appeal.

"Don't beat yourself up. If it had stayed you could have definately beat seven shades of stuff out him. That's probably why he disappeared in the first place. You were great." Mykle said reassuringly to him again, and picked him up, piggyback style, and walked further along the Forest route. "Well find someone, don't you worry about that."

The site...it died...*cue rolling tumbleweed*

Suddenly you heard a loud rustling sound as a boy burst through the bushes, looking irritated and staring you down with a nasty glare. "Hey YOU! Were you the one who attacked my Pokemon?" He jerked a thumb backwards, but when he turned around to look, his Pokemon seemed to be mysteriously missing.

"Hunh? Where did it..."

"VIIIIIINE!" came a loud, cackling shriek and suddenly the boy was shouting under the weight of his Pokemon, who had fastened its huge set of jaws playfully around its trainer's head. The boy let out a yelp.

"Getifoffgetitoffgetitoff!" he cried as he began to comically run in circles. He then stopped several minutes later, realizing who it was. "Grapevine! That's not funny! You almost gave me a heart attack!" he said, face taking on a slightly reddish tinge out of embarrassment. The Carnivine, dubbed Grapevine, merely continued to nibble on the boy's head.

The boy let out a sigh. "Anyway. I wanna battle you! I've got two Pokemon here with me...cause I used a Potion on Grapevine. And after seeing how you managed to beat it up...I want revenge! But I also think you must be pretty strong to cause that much damage in such short time! So, whaddaya say?" He paused for a moment. "I can give you some Oran Berries for your Tyrogue if you want, to be fair."

"Oh. Terribly sorry, I thought it was a Wild pokémon, and your, ahem, Grapevine, started it. But if you do insist then Top here, will have to open a can o' whoopa-ss on your Carnivine," Mykle said, talking trash to the best of his ability, then Lunged the Tyrogue, still eager for his thirst for combat to be filled he launched a Bullet Punch on the Flycatcher pokémon.

Lol, if only life were that easy...

"Eh, Grapevine has a habit of doing that," the boy said rather sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head with one hand in embarrassment. "But I'm not gonna choose Grapevine just yet! I just caught a new Pokemon that I want to test out! Go, Sentret!" he commanded, throwing a Pokeball from his belt. The Pokeball flashed open in a flash of red light, revealing the small squirrel/ferret-like Pokemon, who was fidgeting in a way that made it look like it really had to use the loo.

"Sentret, Sen!" squeaked the opposing Pokemon, its ears twitching and tail wagging in the air in a manner much like that of a rather eager puppy. Apparently, your opponent wasn't too aware of the whole system of type-advantages, seeing as he just sent out a Pokemon with a severe weakness to fighting type moves. Oh well, his loss.

"Sentre....Grapevine! Stop BITING my HEAD! Do you want to make me BALD or something? Anyway, Sentret! Start things off with a Scratch Attack!"

Sentret lunged towards Top, its claws raised and glinting in the sun's rays as it closed in for the attack.

"Well, it's your Sentret's funeral. Top, buddy, hows about a Vacuum Wave." Ordered a cool Mykle, checking his pokédex for the Sentret's stats, as well as the Fighting-Normal Advantage.

Top meanwhile gracefully rolled up into the air and lunged forward with his fists leasding the way to Sentret like a Heat Seeking Missile or something.

"Ty Ty."

Top sliced its hands in a manner that would have made a Medicham jealous. Sentret took a heavy hit right in the jaw, accompanied by a rather unpleasant cracking sound and a slight whimper from Sentret's mouth. Sentret stopped its attack in mid-air, squeaking in pain from the super-effective blow it had just received. Not only that, it began to run around in fast circles, completely out of control.

"Sentret! Sentret! Calm down! Pay attention! We've got a battle on our hands here! Hello!? Are you even listening? Use Scratch attack once again!" Sentret, still racing in circles, seemed to have heard a little of what its trainer had said for indeed it did raise its claws to scratch...

...a tree. The boy and his Carnivine sweat-dropped heavily as the ferret Pokemon continued to scratch the base of the tree enthusiastically. Well. Didn't look like this Sentret was all that well-trained...probably not even trained at all.

"What he makes up for in cuteness is definitely what that Sentret lacks in brains. " He said cockily with a nod from Top, and a dismissing look to the Sentret.

Mykle smiled and ordered a Bullet Punch from Top, who nodded and flipped over in a very Gymnastic style. Then Top swinging his fist till it glowed, and providing protecting from the aura on his hand like a steel gauntlet punched the sentret with all of his might.
