I really don't get why no one has really ever pushed for this. Would be really simple considering the game already checks and outputs the matches outcome. HT and whatnot don't need someone really doing them.

This would make it a lot easier for events to be ran considering no one has to be around to run 1. the event restrictions would also have to be enforced (min 4 people, time limit, match stuff...) .

no, its not. Its not like your making AI here. Its a simple function call each time a player wins while signed up for an event.

And what about when players mis-spell or sign up with SS's that are of legal copyright names? What happens when there is a no show, or if pairings get messed up?

It's not a simple function, it's not a simple code, and its not a simple task. Bleys has discussed this with us before, and the wall is hit. It's too complicated of a process at the moment.
