The client/server has been lagging SEVERELY bad lately. To the point where sometimes, somebody hits 2 or 3 moves, then it freezes up on me...and I have to exit out of it and come back in. I have checked everything else on my PC out, and have heard from others who said they have had some lag as well. Just kind of wondering what is causing it?

further on this, the server seems to be bi-polar in it's allowing users on the server because i logged on fine and started a game with AbbiWhite4000 then it froze and I since haven't got back on.

The general internet connection at the server location has been spotty recently. The cable company doesn't want to do much about it because turning the computer off and unplugging the modem temporarily fixes the issue.

I may go out and buy a new HD with a clean install and see if that helps things. If not, it may be time to switch carriers (my bundled prices with the cable company expire this month).

Also, Bleys I remember speaking to you a while ago about getting an error message when I try to connect to the MSC New client. You told me just to make sure that there wasn't any other actual client applications in that folder. Which I did. Recently I have had the error message coming up again, with nothing else in the folder but one client app.

Something I have noted, is when I used to play MSC on my old laptop, which was windows xp, I never got that error message. However, on any other laptops I have, or my desktop which are now running Windows Vista...I see that error message off and again. To the point where I sometimes have to exit, try again, exit try again in access of 20 to 25 times before it loads properly. I even tried it on a buddies computer with Windows 7 and had the same error. I'm beginning to wonder if there are some incompatibility issues either with MSC, or with MIRC and operating systems that have not since passed there time. Especially considering a lot of the MSC players I know run Windows XP, or hell even some of them later than that.

I've been running network diagnostic software this week, and have seen nothing of concern except for one lag spike that booted everyone near the end of CW on Monday.

Has anyone had any trouble this week aside for that one instance?
