Corruption: The Aftermath Disscussion

I’ll be pretty vague here since most of the story is shrouded around mystery to most of the people on the boards except those I have already talked to. This RP is probably the darkest one that I have thought of with DJChilllyPhil. This one also decides the fates of two characters in the RE universe, whether those involved choose for them to live or die. If they live, there are permanent effects. If they die, then they don’t have to suffer but others may be emotionally and mentally affected. So yeah… Tough choice…

Those who want to join should read the RP Crash and Burn that is currently in the archives to get a good feeling as to what happened (Though even in that story, many things are left open-ended, hence why this particular RP is to tie it off, as well as others). The introductory posts also has a recap of the incident, but does not go into full detail as to what happened. Also, this RP does contain spoilers to Metroid Prime III: Corruption if you haven’t played it yet. It is also good to get a good feeling of how the Federation is run based on Corruption’s mechanics since I will be establishing most of the protocols off that, especially for those who are coming in as bounty hunters. Also, this RP takes about nine years after Corruption and Crash and Burn based on the current timeline we have been working on (Between Echoes and Corruption is a span of 6 months. Crash and Burn comes three months after Echoes.) since as of the moment, the weapons that both of my characters have are the best they have to date. This is also assuming that Metroid II, III, and IV have already been completed.

The first couple posts will be large introductions, as well as recaps, to missions in the past, a prologue if you will. Hunters and those wanting to join in can post as soon as the message above is made public since there is a whole giant setup in the beginning. Later on, there will be tons of references to the other RPs, so keep an eye out for those.

Captain Falcon will be highly involved with this, and will probably be popping in now and then to check on the teams until later on, in which he will go solo for a bit, leaving the other hunters on their own for the time being. I will post parts of his story from time to time so that you guys get an idea of what's going on in the background. Mind you, you cannot use this information unless he actually tells you, which will likely only occur during Federation briefings, or when you are teamed up with him aboard the ships.

Those who are on cargo escorts will be in groups of two or three, perhaps more if we don’t have enough people. I will also be introducing a few other hunters for interaction purposes alone, as well as triggering events. There will be several NPCs, including Federation units (Investigations, Troopers, Crewmembers, the Brass), and other hunters, perhaps even those who are helping behind the Federation (Siam Miscues, High Orbit, Other Civilians).

This RP will take place in various parts of the galaxy, so keep in mind that you will be hopping everywhere, especially when the Federation is taking a hit to one of their cargo holds.

Another note, there will be a lot of references to planets OUTSIDE Federation territory to help pave way to possibly an expansion of your universe. So keep those in mind.

There will be several battles, especially on the ships. There will also be one major battle at a station, and one final battle aboard what may be considered a flagship. The fights aboard the smaller ships can be done as a joint post if needed since these are great lengths of battle scenes. A LOT of character interaction is required since these areas are based on what the players can pull off. Occasionally, I will jump in for a post or two via joint posts, but not so often as most of my joint posting will be with DJ so that you guys know what’s going on when there are no fights.

I'm in. I finished corruption earlier this week so no spoilers here, though I guess I have to read a little more in crash and burn. Either way, expect an entrance of Twilight and Abomination (unless you dont want em in that is xD)

Although, I haven't played Corruption except at an expo, I'm in. I spoiled the game for myself on purpose.

I just don't know if I wanna bring in Faulias, make another entrance with Aryon, or just make someone else entirely. I want my character to fit the profile of the story, you know.

Oh, and and a little trivia on those reading Crash and Burn. That was Jessie and my first RP. I sucked, but it shows you that even the RP veterans started from somewhere.

I kinda wish I had noticed this ahead of time rather than NOW, but if you've still room, I'd like to sign up for it. Naturally, I'll be using my current character, Curon Hifor, the lower-ranking Federation Grunt. I'll have to read Crash and Burn, naturally, and after that (if my brain hasn't melted by then), I'll see about getting in on this.

I went ahead and posted my own intro. I must admit, Its been awhile since I RPed a horror setting like this. He's absolutely horrorified by what's going on. Either way, I managed to read most of Crash and Burn, so I'm in the general gist of things.

Yeah. It's gonna stick with the nine year gap, that way there wont be any conflicts with some of the other RPs. That, and I sort of need Night Shroud... XD

And about your trivia, that was the first one I created and I think also one of the first ones that was actually finished back when RE was MRPF. Now that I look at it, I'm sort of glad that it was a bit open-ended so that this RP could be created... ;

The GFS Tabitha will arrive a little later. You can use one of their fighters to find some place safe to hide out at since the troopers there will be in a fight aboard the Aquila later when the Night Kestrel is to be retrieved. The nearest planet would be Rogue, so yeah. Hopefully, you can think of something.

Oh yeah, a slight warning, Jessie will be quite OOC for a while until later on. She's just unstable with going back and forth in the fight for control. Her part of the story, mostly in her mind, will be shown later.

Another note, if you guys want to weave your own agenda into this, like another plot addition, PLEASE IM ME FIRST!!! Complications are not a good thing... X_x

I just don't know what to do! It looks so interesting, but I don't know what I should do with my characters... should I just stay out of it since I didn't participate in many of the older RPs?

No, feel free to join in. It'll be a while before the broadband goes up due to this slight snag in the plot.

This RP is very large in saying that even new characters can jump in and have some sort of development that will help in creating them. I mean, this RP might be slow-paced in some areas while others might be a bit quick due to giant joint posts (IE: The ones DJ and I are doing that are who-knows-how-many-pages long... XD)

If you read the top post, it'll show you what other characters I may need later on. Hopefully, that might give you an idea?

I guess I could just bring Faulias in, maybe to where Curon is at? He does do a lot of work for the Feds.
