Reality's Exiled Heroes RP Discussion, long enough name?

Okay, so some of you (see: Transcon) heard me talking about this RP today.

I was thinking of an RP set in modern day, we play ourselves, but here's the catch: we have superpowers. We would be just finding out that we have strange abilities. This is more the show Heroes than it is X-Men (alas, I seem to be the only one here who's watched it...) In Heroes there's all kinds of powers, some are really powerful (like being able to go through time) while others are more simple (like someone who can instantly turn metal into liquid), not all of them are good (in fact, there was a guy who had radioactive powers and ended up giving his wife cancer) so be careful with what you have...

We would have to discuss what superpowers we'd have since we don't want anyone too overpowering.

This is a very rough idea at the moment and I'd love input! How we got the superpowers, why?, who would want to use us, etc.

ah, <string of random profanity>! This seems like a really great idea, and I'd love to do something like this, only.... I can't really think of a superpower for myself.

I mean, I've got an idea, but I'm not sure if it'd be plausible for an RP. I'll let you know if I figure something out!

i dunno what powers id have.... Perhaps we can guess eachother's powers.... like....
We all pick a power and throw it in a "hat" then we try and match the power with the person who picked it... That would be a fun way to try and choose powers.

Well, RPing ourselves is what you're supposed to do

It doesn't have to be right down to the dot on your personality since you can never know yourself 100%.

The reason for Self RPing is we had a great time in out only other Self RP, Tale of a Time Stuck Loser, and I think it would be just plain ol' fun ^_^

Oh woops, Ok that's cool because then I can change a few small things if it doesn't have to be exactly me.

I wonder what kind of super power I'd have...heehee, we need to figure out if people want to create their own powers or if we should make a whole list and then draw randomly.

Heh, I wonder if anyone will get a power that will be practically useless, like being able to see through wooden doors, or being invisible when noone's looking at you.

EDIT: since we're all gonna be ourselves in this RP, why not have the name be some sort of a nod to Reality's Exile?

If we all are RPing ourselves... Does RE exist in the RP too? seeing how we all meet Via RE.

Yes, in fact, this is how we get our powers in the first place (I know it sounds a little odd at first but I do have a semi-logical explaination for it...of course you'll have to wait until the first post )

Anyway, how about we post the powers we want and see what goes from there?

I want the power of teleportation, Jumper is one of my most favorite books and I can't help but want to rip it off (ripoff=love)

after some talk with Darth, I've got it down to either limited control over gravity, or control over sound waves (like a scream that would floor people or slamming my hands together to make a sonic boom.... Darth's idea about the sound stuff).

I might go with the sound, since I seem to be the rocker dude here (got Eddie as my avatar, fer chissakes!)

what powers are up for grabs here?? Because Every time I dream i have telekinetic powers... so I already have the experience with that.....

Im looking at telekinesis, possibly shadow manipulation... I'm stumped here so imma take a million and a half quizzes...

Man oh man, the more i think of this, the more i want to join. The simple matter is trying to pick an ability XD.

Here's the one that i've brainstormed so far: Gravity inversion, a trait similar to that my character Darah. This ability does not manipulate gravity that much, but allows m to shift the direction of which gravity actually pulls me. In this case, i can walk on walls as though they were actually the floor.

Phase shifting: It would be similar to Kitty's "Walk through walls" ability, only that would be invisible and i would only be limited to passing through people, small objects, and spaced out objects such as bars, fences, etc. Solid surfaces like concrete i wouldn't be able to go through.

Electronic telekinesis: A kind of psychic ability that doesn't go for people's mind, but actual electronic gadgets and even the internets and the like. I can tell whether the device is on, if it's a DS or PSP, even 'read' what information is on that device, and possibly what it might be able to do. I might be able to do other tricks later on as I refine the skill of mine.

Of the three, I now seem to be very interested in the Electronic Telekinesis's. Who knows what i might be able to do? Glitchy glitchy cameras nyahahahahahahahaha.
