Here's a link to the Lustig interview mentioned over on the Eurocult board. This will take you to the PopImage Web site; scroll down just a scosh (a tad? a pinch? how does one spell "scosh"?) to the link to the Lustig piece.

Read what's next for Blue Underground here!

A good, interesting interview (some great questions asked), thanks Marty, but with a nugget of bad news imbedded in it:

No Hammer film re-releases from Blue Underground, as they have "played themselves out".

--While I can understand the economic reasons for that, for the most part, where are we North American fans going to find an R1 DVD of FRANKENSTEIN CREATED WOMAN that works (thanks to Anchor Bay/Crest's defective run of that title, and probably a couple others, like THE WITCHES) and doesn't succumb to delamination?

The Hammer films have played themselves out??? Mr Lustig, my money is ready for a proper DRACULA: PRINCE OF DARKNESS DVD with good picture quality that's actually in print and available in stores. I'm sure I'm not the only one. Potential Hammer releases were the only Blue Underground titles that interested me.

But I know this is sorta off-topic and I should give the floor to Vincent for the withering blast after Lustig's comments about Mobius and the SUSPIRIA audio.

William, this information may be utterly useless to you, but if you have a multi-region DVD player then there's an excellent German disc (region 2) of DRACULA PRINCE OF DARKNESS under the title BLUT FUR DRACULA, which I mentioned over on the SF/Horror board a few weeks ago. It ports over all the extras from the original (now OOP) Anchor Bay disc, including commentary, and may even add a few of its own (there's a German trailer, I think, and a nice reproduction of the John Bolton comic-strip adaptation of the film originally published in "House of Hammer" magazine - was this on the AB disc too?). The anamorphic 2.35:1 image is pretty good - a trifle soft, perhaps, but colourful. I certainly had no problems with it. The cover art is also excellent, a vivid poster reproduction.

For anyone interested, I did a little interview with director William Lustig about several projects that never got off the ground including a proposed VIGILANTE II. Enjoy!

Bumping up a 7 1/2-year-old thread! Is this the Mobius record?
