If this doesn't count as some sort of milestone for the format, I don't know what would. A double bill of Andy Milligan's almost-totally-unseen NIGHTBIRDS and THE BODY BENEATH is being presented as a Dual-Format Blu-ray/DVD release courtesy of the BFI in the UK in February. At least one online retailer is reporting this as "Region 0" (which is in line with most discs released by the BFI not licensed from a major studio).

I agree, Jon, this truly signifies Blu-ray's Coming of Age.
However, I hope they don't stop with the British Milligan ouevre. The "Ed Wood of Staten Island" deserves to have his American films preserved in a high-def format that far outstrips their original quality. |

Bless the BFI. Mad, they may be...but bless them. |

Does anyone have the pressbook for THE BODY BENEATH? I've seen them around, but don't own one.
I'm putting together some stuff for this disc, and have BB's one-sheet, the World VHS, and 10 photo negatives. Any other publicity materials (foreign or otherwise) I should know about? -------------------- Cinema Arcana!

A superb article (with more to follow) on the long and twisted path to finding the best elements to create this disc: How Do You Make A Flipside?
