IF YOU WANT TO JOIN THE TEAM PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU UNDERSTAND THESE RULES

1. Don't ignore PMs, MSN messages or emails. You must be contactable and able to respond.

2. You must be responsible enough to inform us if you will be busy or away for a while. We all have things come up in school, work or life generally that cannot be avoided but you will need to keep the Team informed or you might find yourself replaced or someone being assigned to do work you are already doing because you did not inform anyone.

3. All of the work you do for the Mod cannot, should you leave, be taken with you or disallowed by you for use in the Mod. Although the work never ceases to be your own creation (and you will be credited) the Mod Team have the right to use it by virtue of your tacit agreement to the same by joining this Mod.

4. You must be honest and not share the development forum password or any files with those not on the Team. Be careful what you post on the public forum and who you share private information and files with. Posting images of textures, models, files, information, maps, text files, etc... outside of the forum without approval may result in your membership being revoked.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you are interested in joining our mod team please post below in the following fashion:

(Skill type, ex: Texturer, Modeller, Voice actor, Designer, Scripter,etc....)

1. Contact Information: MSN Messenger and Email Address.

2. Modding Related Skills : What programs are you familiar with using and how much experience do you have with them? Can you code text files? Can you create concept drawings? Elaborate, what kinds of text files can you edit? Etc...

3. Post a sample of your work (required only for graphics and concept artists): Show us some renders of your 3d work, textures you've created, concept drawings, etc...

4. Lord of the Rings Knowledge: Even if you cannot texture or model, being a knowledgeable LOTR expert can make you an eligable designer. Note that LOTR knowledge will be very helpful in any position on the mod but is not required.

5. Why you want to join MERPTC: What are your reasons for joining the team? Do you want a LOTR universe in the Oblivion engine? Or do you just enjoy modding? Etc....

---------------------------

Now go and apply! We hope to have some good talent and some dedicated members! Have fun modding and hope to see you at the development forums someday wink.gif

Thank you,

MERPTC - Team

Thank you for the application and your interest, but we cannot give access to our developer private forums to anybody that wants to help. If you cannot do CS work, do you think you could learn? We need alot of CS world builders, more so then modelers. Modelers are always good to have, so learning that would be a sure shot at becoming a team member. If none else, do you excel at writing or making music? We always need fan fic and new music. If you have, or can gain any of these skills, you may join the team. Again, thanks for your interest.

3d Modeling Program:

Download and try what you feel most interested in and show us what you can do. wink.gif Good luck.

Uhh, 'ello!

I'm a silent watcher of this marvellous project, might join the team if there are any positions available.

Contact Information: MSN - undeadsoul91@hotmail.com

Modding Related Skills:

Expert at Interiors and Exteriors.
Basic skills at scripting.
Moderate skills on quests.
Basic to Moderate Retexturing Skills.
Understands how to add new meshes, textures and things to the game.
Very Basic use of Blender.
Can write quite good books.
A grammar Nazi when necessary.

Sample of Work:

A Troll Heart I worked on on another Project.
A Red Varla Stone, another thing I worked on.
Retextured Dragon Armour.

Lord of the Rings Knowledge:

- Read The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Silmarillion and book of Unfinished Tales at least once, (3 of they twice, 1 of them 3 times).
- Seen the films.

Why I want to join - Well, I've always wanted to be inside Middle Earth, and I think this mod is as close as I'm going to get, without paying a monthly suscription to a MMORPG that I won't name. I also enjoy modding, I suppose.

Bleh, that's all.

I like this smiley by the way:

Now this, my fellow readers is how you make an application. Notice how well written out and organized this post is. Our friend Gajakk gets right to the point and states his skills as well as how proficient he is with each. He had a wonderful setup with the yellow highlights. His portfolio is clear and easy to understand, and he makes it clear where he stands. Please follow this module if you want to make an application, for it saves the team a lot of valuable time. All in one post I got all of the information I need to make one quick simple reply.

Now, Gajakk,

Thank you for your interest in the mod, I can see your skills with interior modding will suffice for much of what we could use. If you would like to join the team, then I am more then willing to sign you on. All you have to do is reassure me that you are willing to be 100% dedicated to the progress of the mod, and also that any "classified" information will stay secret. If you reveal "classified" information, you will be kicked from the team, so please don't. I hope you understand. Once I get the reassurance of your interest, I will send you a link to our private development forums, where you can sign up. When I notice you have signed up I will make you a staff member of the boards, thus giving you access to the boards. When you get on, we have some interior claims that I would be most pleased if you took an interest in. I'm sure you'll fit right in with the team, and I'm looking forward to a response. I assure you, you will enjoy working on this mod if you enjoy Tolkien and quality work. Thanks again for your interest.

I will put all the effort I can into the mod, and I will respect your wishes that classified information should be kept in secret. I would expect no less if someone joined a mod I was leading.
