Helga's Confession, major part in the movie!

YES! Helga finally told him!! And then at the end..pretty much took it back.

But anyways...Woow. That must've felt liberating saying all that to Arnold. Oh, man, but the look on his face...

And then that big kiss..Wooow..They seriously focused on that...I was so not ready for such a kiss. Apparently Arnold wasn't either.

Man, I was kind of disappointed when they pretty much said it was nothing...but I guess it's better that way..It would have been sooo awkward between them after that. And Helga was obviously pretty embarrassed about it...it WAS in the heat of the moment kind of thing.. so they both probably were relieved to say it was nothing. I just wish they finished the Jungle movie so we could know Arnold's reaction to it...his answer to Helga...cuz that's what the movie was supposed to include, I think.

WHen I saw them kissing I feel like I was being strangle. I feel sooo happy yet bad because I thought " does that mean they'll be couple" I wasnt ready to see them as a couple at that time because I didnt even finish watchin the whole series yet. Thro I must say Helga kiss really describe her feelin for him. I think if Helga told Arnold that she really meant what she said he will be freak out but I want him to at least think about it.
Personally i can guess his answer ...

" This is too sudden Helga..I guess what I'm really trying to say is that I like you now but I dont like you like you so can just begin as friend first?" Then Helga say" Sure Arnold what ever you say":wub: Then Arnold take her home and a dramatic music start to play.

True. I want him to think about it too. I mean, he knows she's not really a mean bully who loves to pick on him. I mean, sure, he'll probably be exposed to her exceptionally crazy, obsessive side, but still, he'd see her sensitive nice side. And all the times he's seen that side of her (Arnold's Valentine!!), he's liked her. XD

oh yeah... the confession... it was a MAJOR moment in the movie...

Every episode when she seemed about to confess, I always squirmed excitedly in my seat, thinking: 'go, Helga, go! Wait... NO! Don't snap at him!! Aww... jeez, Helga *rolls eyes*'

When it finally happened, my best friend, my sister and I (all of us HA! fans-- though I am the obssessive one) couldn't stop squealing and jumping up and down on our seats.

But I was disappointed when they denied everything... and I was kinda sad because I thought Arnold had hated the kiss... but now I understand he just wasn't ready for it... lol... poor him.

That answer does sound like Arnold =)

Hmmm... guess it's time for some DV input on Helga's confession, huh? lol!

Let me start off this issue a little off topic. My favorite episode of Hey Arnold! is April Fools Day, (Of course...XD) and I really consider AFD to be a sixth season episode, because of Arnold and Helga's different personalities (Or nonexistent different personalities). AFD is my favorite episode of HA! not only because of both characters personality changes and the dance they shared together at the end, but also because it was the only A/H episode that took place after Helga's confession. The episode, (though was mostly flirtious competition between Arnold and Helga) I believe, showed the way they really felt towards each other.

Arnold's obviously so confused with Helga's confession in the movie, but not dense enough to overlook it and only believe that it's "the heat of the moment'. I think he hurt her in the episode because other than wanting revenge, he was being hurt himself. After all, what episodes do we see Arnold retaliate against Helga so badly? The answer to that question is only in episodes which Arnold is deeply hurt by Helga (eg: girl trouble, and I'm not including Egg Story, because he was just going along with what Harold was saying in that episode). I believe Arnold was even starting to think he was almost ready to take her confession and move on to the next level in there relationship, he was starting to believe he had strong feelings for her, (After all, there's a saying; "you always hurt the ones you love"). And what did he do at the end of AFD, people?

I don't know if Arnold's feelings are that deep or not, in his conscience, they just may be, but I do know for a fact from episodes like, but not limited to; Runaway Float, Save The Tree, Dinner For Four, Beaned, and April Fools Day, he's completely oblivious to the fact that he has a crush on the girl...lol! (eg: Runaway Float: Hugging her, Arnold and Helga getting closer as a team, Helga siding with her dad...
Save The Tree; Holding her, wondering if she's siding with her dad and not him... Even the mere fact that he wondered about it showed that he cared deeply for her. Dinner for Four; Winking at her, flirting Beaned; Holding her hand--despite it being Helga's hand he was holding and even though he was only trying to take care of her, I believe there was a deeper meaning. Arnold was completely comfortable with holding her hand and being with her the whole time. He even denied going to the "Old Timers Game" to Gerald to see Mickey K. because he cared so much about Helga. He admitted that he was getting weird and mushy with her when he apologize about the way he was acting in the episode even... Man! Talk about a freaked out girl I was when I saw it January 26th. AND April Fools Day obviously because, he's completely oblivious that he has a huge crush on the girl...lol! I mean, come on! Please don't get me started on that dance!...lol! (Although, I think Arnold knew what he was feeling for her when he danced with her more than any other moment in the series.)-- I mean, sure, he was getting back at her by manipulating her and probably teasing her slightly, but the fact is, a person does not dance with a person that intensely and somewhat innuendo hinting, without having at least some romantic feelings towards that person.

Yeah! I know! It's ridiculous...lol! I really thought that Helga was going to confess in the episode, "Monkey Buisness" and I really thought Arnold knew after hearing Helga's parrot say, "Hel--" and then the monitar lizard jump up and say "ga.." I mean, come on! And then I find out she says nothing and Arnold doesn't know she loves him?

I actually finished the HA! movie book a month before the movie came out. When I read her confession, I was running the book over to my Mom and Grandma. Screaming and going crazy, jumping up and down and laughing, I couldn't wait to hear her say that to him. I saw the end though, and I didn't know what to think. I was desparate to see the movie because you can only tell how exactly Arnold means what he says to her by his tone of voice...

My opinion on that was that it was a flirtious tone. Just like all of you believe, he knew her secret, he just wasn't ready. He wasn't ready to start a relationship with her, and he knew she was far from ready to go public on it.

This might make all of you want a sixth season twice as much, but, um, I believe if nickelodean had a sixth season produced, Craig Bartlett and crew would focus on Arnold and Helga getting closer to going public throughout each plot. Craig would develop their personalities more, making them relate to each other more. Arnold and Helga would run, most of the time like a team, although very and I stress VERY flirtious team, with so much competition, it would be nearly impossible to fill an entire episode with it.

You're right Nora, that answer does sound like what Arnold would've said , and Rachael, I would really love to see Arnold's answer to Helga too...after a sixth season, of course. I would love to know how he would explain his feelings to her, relating to all of the sixth season episodes.

Dude, Jen, you're really making me want that nonexistent sixth season, lol. (And that Jungle movie) This coming from a person whose obsession with HA is (sadly) kinda fading. Ah, well, of course I still like HA and Helga's obsession with Arnold, so I love this. xD
