well why didn't a little Lloyd and/or a little collete watch it thats kind of stupid even though top was made before tos thats the sensable thing to do on lloyds part.

Perhaps Lloyd never married? Perhaps Lloyd was killed? Perhaps one of his descendants didn't want to look over it?

Well while that should've happened, or just let Genis watch the tree, you have to consider that the creators of ToP perhaps never intended there to be a prequel to it. Besides Lloyd buggered off to go rid the world of exspheres, perhaps his journey took him far away and in the end he could never find his way back, so gave up and made a family a million miles away.

Another similarity is that all the Summon Spirits are the same in ToS as in ToP. Plus they both have the sorcerers ring!

Well, I wouldn't say the same. Celsius is nowhere to be seen in Phantasia, and there is no Chameleon, Gremlin, or Pluto in Symphonia. And apparently, all the Summon Spirits decided to make themselves look stupid beyond belief over the 4000 years in between the stories. (WTF Gnome and Silph?) Yes I know the last spirit is misspelled, but it gets killed by the censor otherwise...

ToS and ToP has many scary similarities. More scray than DeJap's translation. If the dungeons weren't as trial oriented on ToS.......

I have an odd feeling that Ratatoskr is going to make this connection. There wasn't really an original intention for a prequel, since Top was based off of a prequel-less book. Ratatoskr is most likely an attempt to establish the connection to keep more fans from being lost from confusion? I'm not sure.

I'm not sure. I think Ratatosk might just be another plot shoved in there.
I don't think the connection is made well... unless a war started right after Lloyd resolved things... which would be odd. -------------------- wheee

When you think about it, Lloyd didn't resolve many things. What mainly happened was the fusing of the two worlds (screenshots of the new game show a map of combined continents from tethealla and syverant) which sort of left everything in a state of being destroyed and confusion amongst members from the different worlds. For all we know, tetheallan's could wage war against syverantians.
