Power Rangers Space Police Department

The not too distant future is looking quite bright for the planet Earth; intergalactic relations have been established and as such Earth is now home to numerous alien species. With Earth's new role in the galaxy an organization has been established to uphold intergalactic law. This organization is the Space Police Department (or S.P.D. for short). The S.P.D. has and trains the finest officers in the galaxy and those who can rise above all others are given the power to become a superhuman fighting force known as the Power Rangers. However a shadow is now looming over Diatech City and a team of Rangers led by the legendary Capt. Dorian Kruger is established to try to prevent this threat. However while on a mission Capt. Kruger is struck with a mysterious ailment that is now mutating him into a blue dog-like creature by causing his human DNA to be mixed with canine DNA. This mutation creates two problems. First it has been discovered that humans are the best candidates to become Rangers, and with the mixture of canine DNA in Kruger's system, he can no longer morph. Secondly the DNA lock, which is permanent, on Kruger's morpher leaves only one potential candidate for leading the team; Kruger's brother who is only a mere rookie. Can this rookie lead this new team of Rangers to protect Diatech City, or will intergalactic crime prevail?

Well here it is a new fic, that I'm hoping will fill in a few upcoming writing gaps when I hold of on doing Magix for the next little while. I hope everyone enjoys this, and I've got a feeling that you SPD haters might actually get a kick out of this one. Usually at this point I'd say "for more info go to my site" or something to that effect, but my SPD section is nowhere near complete. So just hang tight for the next little while as I get everything prepared.

i read the first episode and i like it.

Episode 2 is ready. This one will be the last one for a while as I get the section for this fic at my site ready, and after I've written Magix ep 33.

This is just an FYI, but the SPD section of my site is officially up and running. So like I say at the end of the first post in all my fanfic threads, "for more info go to my site".

I'm going to try and read these two tomorrow. I'm also going to make myself write at LEAST one act of my own fanfic.

Episode 3 added. Since it's late, this is all I've got to say.

i read the first three episodes and i like them.

It's a good series so far. I'll be honest and say it is a little dull, but I thought the same of Magix at first until about the fifth or sixth episode.

Again though, good work.

Thanks Crystal. Actually in all honesty, this is a little dull to write, but I'm sure when I get a few more eps under my belt things will pick up. After all it's my belief that your first few eps of a fic (or even the actual PR show) should be intro'ing the overall structure of the series as well as getting to know the characters.

Also for those of you who are wondering about what the eps that are attached to those extra titles are going to be about, here goes;

Humanity Regained: Anita continues her experimenting with trying to cure Dorian's mutation, and thinks she may have made a breakthrough. That is until Rustrax captures her and sends a robot to destroy the city. After Anita's capture Dorian finds the results of her latest experiment and drinks the formula, which turns him human again. Dorian then goes after Rustrax, and kicks ass as the Captain Ranger. I'm also planning on delving into some of Dorian's past as well.

Detective of Daybreak: the intro of my version of DekaBreak. I haven't really planned anything so far or even thought of a name yet, but I will say this; my version of Break in this fic won't be a light ball from the future. He'll be an officer from SPD special ops sent to help out the team on Earth. Not unlike Break in Deka.

Special Weapons and Tactics: easy enough, S.W.A.T. Mode's intro.

Fossily Fury: all I'm going to say about this one is that "There's a light in the distance. See them coming closer. With the force ages, centuries gone by..."

Case Closed: the finale. After all what else could a two part called "Case Closed" be?

Episode 4 added. This one kinda took a while because this fic is a little dull to write for me at the moment, but things will pick up like they with Magix after the next couple of eps.

I'll get to reading it soon. Also, I've been looking through my "non- burned" "legally bought" disc of DekaRanger, I don't know if you've decided on which episodes not too use, but I though I'd make some suggestions.

I'll break these into two categories.

Good/Great Deka eps., but might not make good PR eps;
“Witness Grandma”
“Funky Prisoner”
“Cycling Bomb”
“Trick Room” (Well, maybe as long as it’s nothing like “Missing”)


Not good Deka eps that might make worse PR eps;
“Baby-Sitter Syndrome”
“Fake Blue”
“Gal Hazard”
“Unsolved Case”
“Requiem World” (By far the worst Deka episode.)

I think I might do that one. It'd definately make a good Patrick ep, since this one did focus on Sen. Off the top of my head I think I'd probably make the plot something along the lines of Patrick has to protect this alien granny who's all about simplicity and holistic approaches vs. Patrick's technical and more scientific approaches. Sort of an old school vs. new school kind of thing.

I don't really remember this one, but if it's the one with the Mirabal Alienizer then I definately want to do it, because I wanted to use Miribal as one of the Troobians in the Magix/SPD crossover. I even had a great name for him too "Iodastorm" (there's a pun in there somewhere). Not to toot my own horn or anything but I do think that this is a much better name than "One Eye", which is what Kalish called him in "Robotpalooza".

I do want to do this one if for any other reason to do a partial Speed parody. After all the ep was more or less Speed on a bike.

If I did this one, it'd probably be one of those eps where I more or less use the exact same plot as the Sentai. I've done it before with Magix, reread "Beasts of Legend", and rewatch Magi ep 31 to see what I mean.

Definately. It could make a good Julie ep, but the overall look of Amy isn't very PR. After all what works in Sentai doesn't necessarily work in PR. Although I did think of using Amy as one of the Troobians in the Magix/SPD crossover, I thinking of calling her "Baby Boom-Boom", but in the end she's just not a good fit with the Gas drinkers from Full Blast Action.

I don't really remember this one, but if it's the one with the aging alien detective I might actually do it. In fact I even thought of a name for the detective "Falk", as an homage to Peter Falk who played Columbo. That old alien's look does have a bit of a Columbo vibe, doesn't it?

What were these ones about? Crystal, please jog my memory, because I don't remember them at all.

“Fake Blue”
It is where Hoji and an Alienizer switched minds. The monster then tried to use DekaBaseRobo to destroy the city.

“Gal Hazard”
It's the one where a alien woman eats a rare ruby or something and it is really leading a comet to Earth. Ban protects her and they use DekaBaseRobo to destroy the meteor. The girl then falls in love with Ban.

“Requiem World” (By far the worst Deka episode.)
It's where Umeko was dreaming of what was going on because of an alienizer was taking people in their sleep. Jasimne figured out using ESP on Umeko what the dream meant and they went after the monster. Jasmine used a thing on the Morpher to let the mosnter think she had trapped them in a drea world. The monster finds out they aren't and comes to to find out that they used the chance to free all the people she had captured. Then Umeko and Jasmine deafet her alone.

I think if I were to use Fake Blue, I might change which Ranger gets switched with the alien, to prevent it from being too much like "Recognition". I might use Gal Hazard, but it'd be an entirely original plot without the freaky looking alien girl. I actually liked Requiem World, and I actually thought that ep was going to be Insomnia. If I did use it, I might do a sort of Nightmare on Elm Street thing where the Rangers have to stay awake or else they'll get caught by the Alien. But either way those eps a little far off from my to do list, because next up from me is Magix ep 34, and then ep 5 of Space Police Department. And for that one I need to think of some kind of a name for Murphy. I'm kinda half tempted to go the accronym route with it like in SPD.
