I finally got around to doing my part in Turning, and this was the best I could do. I always stuff up the round dry.gif. If anyone thinks I should try doing the round or something again, please say so. But if it's okay as is, say so too! smile.gif

Right, we might as well do this song, if only as a draft until we get some better backing. Could you maybe post the link again Turning_Turning?
I think we should just rotate the one recording around with a first-come, first-serve kind of thing. Whoever posts, saying that they will record their part to the same recording (please only do this if you know you can get it done reasonably quickly) gets it and the rest should wait until the new link is put up. Am I making sense? wink.gif

Cast:
Turning Girl #1 : WonderWombat!
Turning Girl #2 : BourgeoisThing!
Turning Girl #3 : Cloudy!
Turning Girl #4 : Danica Enjolras!
Turning Girl #5 : Ponine!
Turning Girl #6 : Turning_Turning!
Turning Girl #7 : Sakerebaii!
Turning Girl #8 : TillyFally!!
Chorus inlcuding the round- every girl on this project!

Lyrics:
Woman 1
Did you see them
Going off to fight?
Woman 2
Children of the barricade
Who didn't last the night?
Woman 3
Did you see them
Lying where they died?
Someone used to cradle them
And kiss them when they cried.
Woman 4
Did you see them
Lying side by side?
Woman 5
Who will wake them?
Woman 6
No one ever will.
Woman 2
No one ever told them
That a summer day can kill.
Woman 7
They were schoolboys
Never held a gun
Fighting for a new world
That would rise up like the sun
Woman 3
Where's that new world
Now the fighting's done?
Woman 4
Nothing changes
Woman 7
Nothing ever will
Woman 8
Every year another brat,
another mouth to fill.
Woman 7
Same old story
What's the use of tears?
Woman 6
What's the use of praying if
there's nobody who hears?
Everyone!
Turning, turning,
turning, turning, turning
Through the years.
Women 1-4
Turning, turning,
Turning through the years
Minutes into hours and the
hours into years.
Nothing changes, nothing ever can
Round and round the roundabout
and back where you began!
Round and round and back where you began!
Women 5-8 (start a bar later, hopefully both parts with end up singing the last line together)
Turning, turning,
Turning turning through the years
Minutes, hours, hours into years.
Nothing changes, nothing ever can
Round and round the roundabout
Round and round and back where you began!

Ack! That's hard to read... These parts are from the vocal score, so please no alterations. Thankyou. smile.gif

Actually, Women 4-8's harmony goes:

Turning, turning,
Turning, turning through the years!
Minutes, hours, hours into years.
Nothing changes, nothing ever can.
Round and round the roundabout...
Round and round and back where you began.

Just checked, and you're right. It's edited now. Thanks for the link.
I don't know when I'll be able to record, but I'll post here right before I do. Anyone else, please feel free to record your part now, just tell us first so we don't end up with 2 different tracks.

Turning 1st vocals

Aren't you woman five, EponineJavert? Just curious. smile.gif If not, you can always record the melody part in the chorus, so people know how the round goes (Being woman six, I do the harmony). smile.gif

I'll record as soon as I can, but since I'm not sure when, I'm leaving it open to anyone else who wants to *ahem* needs to...

Do you wish me to redo Turning, this time with the microphone set down on the table to try and avoid the cracks, etc?

That is better, but (I'm sorry! sad.gif ) there are still some cracks...
Do you not have another microphone you could try using, I really think it would also improve the way your voice sounds on recordings too.

That's fine! So should I put up a clear backing track from somewhere? (I'm so sorry, all who have already recorded!)
