Well this seems to be the right place to put my Warbands background, if not then I hope a mod can put it in the right place krootwink.gif

Little is known of the peculiar nature of the Dark Blood warband, but what is known brings to light a disturbing flaw in the Kroots insticts. Many years ago while helping the Valhallan 172nd "Winter Claws Regiment of the Imperial Guard fight off a Chaos incursion consisting of members of the Night Lords legion of Chaos Space Marines and renegade planetary defence forces on the planet Karza IV (a world of perpetual night) the kroot had been undertaking their usual behaviour of eating the flesh of defeated enemys to improve the characteristics of the next generation, filled with the urge to destroy there foe even the Shapers could not prevent the Kroot from eating the tainted flesh of fallen Chaos Space Marines.

The next events were the most peculiar as after weeks of fighting Traitor defence forces and Space Marines and consuming their flesh The Kroots skin had began to turn black and the spines on their bodies turned blood red, the Valhallan commanding officers had also began to hear reports of Kroot attacking civilians in the still populated cities of the planet. When the senior officer of the regiment General Ivan Gregorovic questioned the warbands Master Shaper (who had a basic understanding of low gothic due to the time spent around the Imperial Guard) the Shaper merely responded "they are prey" and turned to leave. It was at that point
the Regimental Commissar pronounced the Kroot traitors and moved to draw his weapon, but before his hand was even on his pistol the Shaper had decapitated him with the ceremonial power sword gifted to him only a few days earlier by the general as thanks for the Kroots help in the war. Realising he did not have a chance of taking on the regimental bodyguards of the general alone the shaper gathered his warriors and fled into the cities.

After the commissars death there was days of fighting in the streets, as the Kroot sought a way off-world, they struck fear into Imperial and Traitor alike as the used the same terror tactics as the Night Lords (which they had also gained from eating the flesh of fallen Chaos Marines) to battle through the planets capital city Pyriel and locate a Spaceport to make there escape.

After crudely re-wiring and getting a basic understanding of the flight controls the Kroot took several of the Imperials off-world transporters and fled the system. It is not known how they made their escape from the system, it was rumored they had a fleet of space ships waiting out of Imperial scanner range although it has never been confirmed. What is known however is that they were not destroyed, the same Dark Blood warband has been identified working with Renegade Imperial Guard, Renegade Astartes and even the Traitor Chaos legions, there hit and run terror tactics have become much sought after amongst the enemies of the Imperium
and there have even been rumours of Chaos warbands fighting each other to win the support of the Dark Blood mercenaries

No-one knows where they are now or when they will next appear but one thing is for certain the Dark Blood mercenaries are fast becoming one of the biggest threats to the Imperium.

Well thats what I have for the moment, what do you reckon? anything I can improve upon? Any help will be much appreciated as this is my first time writing background for an army.
