Title: Help against Eldar

For some reason the Dice Gods hath decreed that every big game (3+ players) I play I will be fighting against Eldar. So I'm having some difficulty specifically with Seer Councils and Harlequins

I've tried shooting them with minor success. I say minor because in order to shoot them (with let's say a typical Carnivore squad) I have to get within their charge range (its impossible to shoot at the harlequins outside of 24"). So the result of this is that I kill around 1 model in the seer council/harlequins, they charge me next turn and wipe out the shooters.

I've also tried assaulting them. BIG MISTAKE! My specific experience was of 15 carnivores, a shaper, a krootox, and Angkor Prok charging into a 5 man Seer Council and a Farseer. They wiped out many kroot before I could hit at them with 50+ attacks and cause 20+ wounds. He made every save (he had Fortune and could reroll saves). Next turn he wipes out more kroot, I hit with fewer attacks and cause no wounds again (he once again made every save thanks to Fortune). Since they are fearless because of Prok, I'm taking a lot of wounds at the end of combat too.

In the end my whole squad and Prok were destroyed over two turns of combat without causing a single casualty to the Seer Council. In another game the same player wiped out 30 Ork Boyz with a 5-man Seer council and took only one wound in return.

How do I deal with something like that? If you do the math I actually had a really good round of combat and still couldn't even hurt them. At this point I think the only thing to do is try to ignore them.

Any suggestions? -_-

Winged Flamer armed shaper council?

I'm not 100% on the Haliquin rules but they dont have a very good armour save and they only get Invulnderables in combat because of their acrobatics?

Same with the seer council. If they only have a 5+ save then conceal and fortune is not going to help them getting hit with a large number of flame templates.

What would a shaman with a Shamans staff do in this situation? Since you can null the seer councils psychic powers using the Staff?

I'm assuming your using the KK dex yes?

Its been a VERY long time since ive had to deal with such units in games, and the time when I had to it never really worked out well, also I was using the CA rules at the time. Ive yet to face them using the KK dex yet.

Might need a bit more info on the eldar (if your able) before I can help out more.

For the Harlequins flamers would work well and if that fails then you need to get numbers in to combat. A full Hound squad is going to eat them alive as they should not be able to do enough wounds to blunt your attacks back.

The seer Council is just a case of either ignore it and let it kill the one unit of yours in a game or put all your shooting in to it and make sure that he is allocating the wounds properly. I don't think that the Council has any type of grenade so hanging around cover to go first in assault would be a good idea as well, as would large units again.
