BOARD RULES
PLEASE READ THESE RULES, EXCESSIVE DISREGARD FOR RULES AND GUIDELINES SET DOWN BY THE ADMINISTRATORS AND MODERATORS CAN AND WILL LEAD TO TEMPORARY OR PERMANENT BANNING FROM THE BOARD
I'm not going to be ridiculous and give thousands of rules to be followed, there is simply no point, but there are a few guidelines that I think, for the respect of both celebrities and members of the site, as well as to make the experiences of users on this site only pleasent, need to be layed down and followed. They are not tyrannical, or hard to follow and still have a good time, they are just plain common sense.
1. Most important out of all rules I believe: Be respectful of other members.
Do not post things deliberately having a go at others opinions, it's a free world, if someone doesn't like Dom, that's for them to decide, they're insane, but no-one can tell them they are wrong ;). This does not mean that friendly discussions on 'which of the fellowship you like best' are dissallowed. Just be nice! :)
This rule also extends to celebrities, do not post:
"Elijah smokes, he is a stupid bastard, I hate him for that"
post instead something along the lines of:
"Shame that Elijah smokes, that did put me off him a bit"
Remember, it is the right of the cast to decide what they do with their lives.
2. Respect the privacy of others.
Do not 'stalk' or 'bully' certain members, this will immediately guarantee you banned from the site for good. Bullying will not be tolerated. No this is not play school, but with the behaviour of members I have seen on other sites, it can seem like it sometimes. As admins we are here to make the experience on this site as enjoyable as possible, if you have any concerns with another user, PM one of us.
This rule also extends to celebrities. Do NOT post the fan-mail address or any other contact information of Billy, Dom, or Elijah on this board, if they have them on internet already that is their descision, but I and the other admins believe that to post them on this board would be a direct violation of privacy.
3. Respect mods and admins.
This speaks for itself really.
4. Do not use excessive smilies and/or punctuation.
Do not post "OMG he is sooooooooo fiiiiiine *drools*!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :):):):):):P:P", you will get the message across with a simple "OMG he is so fine! *drools* :):P". I believe most of us are intelligent enough to understand that that means you think he is fine. ;)
5. Do not use excessive netspeak.
I'm not talking about "lmao" and "lol" they are universal and therefore fine to use. I mean "ur" and "wat" etc, text speak to put it simply. Hopefully if this site kicks off we will have members for whom English is not first language. Posting in netspeak makes it difficult enough to read for first language English, imagine how hard it would be for someone of foreign language. Posting in this form continuously will lead to a warning.
6. Show respect for others creativity.
Constructive critiscm is all well and good, for example "Hmm. I'm not sure about the ending, seemed a little weak". Do not post "This is a pile of crap, haha, you suck" such posts are hurtful to the writer/artist and will be deleted, as will the member who posted them.
7. Absolutely NO prejudiced posts.
I will NOT have posts on this board that discriminate against race or members of a minority. Full Stop.
8. Reserve "smut" to the story and art sections, and even then, nothing disturbing or inappropriate to be viewed by the public.
Warning System
Warning one: You will have a warning mark added to your profile and a mod or admin will PM you telling you what it is you have received the warning for. Posts violating the rule broken will be either edited or deleted.
Warning two: If this rule is broken again you will receive another warning, or two, depending on the nature of the rule broken. (For example: the netspeak rule is a lesser rule, rules regarding user and celebrity privacy are more serious.)
Three: You will receive another warning and your password will be temporarily changed for no less than a week, when the week (or however long deemed necessary) is over your new password will be e-mailed to you.
Four: If, despite all our efforts, you break the same rule again, you will be permanently banned from the board. Don't bother starting up another account to access the site, you will have the same IP address and as soon as we find that a banned member has returned they will be banned again.
If you have any questions regarding these rules please PM them to a mod or admin and they will try and clear up the issue for you. Any replies to this thread not by moderators or administrators will be deleted.
