She could say he left her because of someone younger, blonder or more beautiful. But that was not the exact truth. She could also say he betrayed her, destroyed her dreams and stole the future she had planned. But it wasn't true either. The problem was he had never been hers.
Some people might think she should break down and cry. She should suffer the loss. She should be depressed and never happy again. But she couldn't do that. And why she should? He was still here and he was still her friend. It wasn't as if he was dead. And what really mattered, she was still here, breathing and alive. Her world wasn't about to crumble and she wasn't going to stop living just because he has found himself a girlfriend. All those years they were just friends. There were no actual strings attached. She might not be happy about the situation, but it was his life and he could do whatever he wanted to do. She knew that every heart-break eventually heals. She was still going to be the same Kathryn Janeway in the morning, as she had always been; the witty woman who loves to live her life, the brilliant scientist, the brave explorer... The voyager. |

Good writing Seven, but I really don't think it fits the "no C/7 or anyone else with him but Kathryn rule." Maybe you could add something at the end.
