[The Rules of Infinite Evolution]Welcome to Infinite Evolution.
Here are the rules of the board, subject to change at the discretion of the staff.
I. Conduct.-Respect each other and the staff. This is simple and it's basic courtesy.
-IE is an rpg that is rated PG-13 to R. This means that you cannot post certain contents, such as sexually explicit content or excessive violence and graphic gore. We at IE also have an age restriction for players, and all players must be at least fifteen to join.
-Basic rules of rp apply, no godmoding, powerplaying, etc.
II. Account Creation.-To join IE, create an account with your character's first and last name. If your character uses a nickname more frequently, that should be used instead of the formal first name. (Ex. Kitty Pryde)
-Make sure to check out all the
important information and the sidebar links before applying.
-Please note that we are an X-Men Evolution RPG and do not take comics-verse or movie-verse applications for pre-existing Evolution canons. We also do not take alternate versions for
IE Canons.
-Referencing comics-verse canon for purposes of history due to lack of background given in Evolution, however, is acceptable, as long as adaptations are made accordingly for the Evolution world.
-To keep to the theme of Evo, we strongly prefer that non-Evo-canon characters are of teen age (thirteen to seventeen being most preferred) and the staff reserves the right to deny any application for reasons of adaptation age for non-Evo canons.
-You must post an application for your character within the first seven days after creating your account. All unapplied accounts will be deleted without notice after the seven days.
III. Application.-You cannot post anything other than your application until your character has been accepted.
-You may only apply for one character at a time.
-Your application will be reviewed as quickly as possible. Please have patience during this time.
-When posting your application, please make your topic title the character's name, listing the surname first. The topic description should be the character's codename. If the character does not have a codename, please make it ‘N/A’.
(Ex. Topic Title: Smith, Tabitha; Topic Description: Boom Boom)-The entire application should be written in third person. There should be no emoticons, internet slang, or contractions anywhere in the application. By IE standards, a paragraph is defined as at least six complete sentences.
-After reviewing the application, we may request edits to the bio, but we will give you a reason for our requests. If your application is not accepted the first time and undergoes alterations, you have five more days to finish up the edited version and to post a notice in the same application (by replying) of the application's completed status. We allow up to two revisions of the same application. If your application is found unacceptable after the second revision, it will automatically be declined.
-We the staff reserve the right to deny any application for any reason, but will always have reasons for all declined applications.
IV. Posting.-A player must post at least two times a week for each character. For more on activity, please check the
Activity Guidelines.
-When you have more than one character in one thread, you are required to post a different reply for each character, instead of making one response for all characters.
-Please note that at IE a character is allowed up to four threads at any given time without specific admin permission. This is to make sure that a continued flow of time is respected.
-When posting In Character, please post at least four paragraphs, a paragraph consisting of at least six sentences, or for word count, roughly 400 words. When posting, make sure to run everything through a spell/grammar check program in case you have typos and the likes.
-It is strongly preferred that a date be mentioned at the start of a thread. A time is also a good detail to note.
-Do not use a size for the text other than the default. Colors are fine as long as they're not hard on the eyes and easy to read. Also, do not use emoticons in IC thread posts or the format of '*sigh*'. No images should be directly posted onto the thread, though a link may be included if desired. Please do not use the 'Quote' button for IC posts, as it breaks the post.
-If your thread is finished or has become inactive and you wish to close it, please add a note at the end of the thread so that there is no confusion, or PM an admin with its link. A staff member will move a thread to the archives once it is finished.
V. Signatures & Avatars.-Avatars are
necessary, signatures optional. If you do not know how to or do not wish to make one yourself, post a request in the General Discussion forum and someone may help you out.
-Avatars
must be 150X150(pixels) and signatures must be no larger than 500X200(pixels, widthXheight). All graphics must be of acceptable content (no explicit language, gore, sexual content, etc.) and must not be animated.
-Avatars
must be celebrities portraying the characters as play-bys. Signatures may feature canon art along with the play-by.
-Also, two to three lines in your signature in normal default size (or alternatively just one line in larger font as appropriate) along with a picture is fine, but it should not be more than that, since that defeats the purpose of restricting the signature sizes and makes sigs unnecessarily long.
After you have read the rules, please post a confirmation prior to applying
here.
