Mutants. Some believed them cursed, some believed them gifted. All feared them. But now, something even worse walks amongst us.

In the early days of 2007, all hell literally broke loose on Earth. Portals long believed dormant broke open all over the world, and all the fiends of hell stepped through, unstoppable save for two things: sunlight, and superior genetics. The mutants whom everyone feared were the saving grace of humanity. As time went on, more mutants were created artificially to fight the forces of the Eight Dark Ones. Dark Minions interbred with humans, creating mutants who could choose which side to play on. Human scientists grafted DNA into orphans and voluteers with mixed success. Everything became a genetic war, with humans enforcing strict curfews, making night shifts impossible.

But along with the demonic uprising came the heavenly chorus. Hallowed ground, where demons could not tread, became the home of angelic forces, guiding the so-called Enlightened Ones, those with superior DNA. These angels also interbred with humanity, creating further enlightened Ones. The year is now 2025, and in Fahreagle, USA, the first of the genetically created Enlightened Ones are coming of age. Demons and angels and mutants and hybrids walk amongst a paranoid humanity. Nobody openly admits their lineage any more, and it's hard to trust someone when you're In The Dark ...::: Sign Me Up .:.
