http://www.armenian-genocide.org/Education...ide_detail.html Question 2 asks: The International Criminal Court is a new international body which has been established to prosecute perpetrators of crimes against humanity, genocide and other crimes. Research the history of the International Criminal Court. Do you think that creating such a court is a way to deter individuals from committing genocide and other atrocities in the future? |

The International Criminal Court is an independent international organization, made up of 18 judges from all the states that participate in the ICC. The International Criminal Court (ICC) is the first ever permanent, treaty based, international criminal court established to promote the rule of law and ensure the most horrible international crimes not go unpunished. The ICC was established on July 17, 1998 after 120 states that participate in the UN adopted the treaty. The ICC is currently located at the de Arc building on the outskirts of The Hague while their permanent premises are being constructed. The International Criminal Court was created to deal with crimes against humanity and other horrible International crimes.
I do not believe that the ICC will affect the amount of crimes against humanity because the people that would commit the crimes probably don’t care what laws are they are breaking |

They might not care whether or not they commit the crimes, but do you think they would care about facing the consequences should they be caught, tried, and convicted by this new court?
