I had arranged the categories by topic, to help us keep sight of the big picture...see SL9 TG section 2 - week 1 - page 4, but now I'm wondering if it would be easier by decades or by weeks of study. What do you all think?

I'm just getting used to zipping around here and my boys'll be over soon. But, it would help us to have things organized by decade instead of topically.

Sonlight has gotten really careful about copyright stuff lately and I wonder if it would rankle them if we did it by their week schedule.

In any case, our vote would be for a central system of smaller bites.

As for the Literature, it seems that has to be by title. Maybe a list of questions/discussions/links... under each title?

I am NOT complaining. I am thrilled and grateful for all of your work. Thank you.

Thanks for the suggestion! Do you suggest that we keep the current categories (economics, politics, science...) but change it to every dedace instead of every 10 years, or merely combine everything and just have decades (forget economics, politics, science...). Another possibility is a have the decades for our main categories, and under that, the other stuff (economics, politics, science...). What exactly did you think was best?

What if... you did decades with sub headings under each.

For instance:
1900-1909 (decade as main category)
sub headings - arts & film*, US politics, international, literature (under which could go the coordinated readings such as "Heart of Darkness")... I forgot what else you have.

In this case, a family who just finishing week 2 (us) would be able to contribute with a minimum of searching for the appropriate heading.

I respect the overview and classification points, but also see a real need for keeping chronology and usability.

On another note, we are including a bunch of films and film study into our study of 20th century and I'd be willing to make sure they're all posted and start some discussions about them. (PS - we're watching Dr. Zhivago this weekend!) Would that be helpful/appropriate/welcomed?

Hope that makes my suggestion more clear.
