Hi, I`ve just finished painting my HE army and now need a 2000pt army list to beat a Khorne army, a beastmen army and a tomb king army.

It`s great to be back in the GW genre, I have forgotten just how much fun it is. My friends play in the main tournaments in the UK (they never stopped playing) so I need a bit of help guys/girls.

Just finished watching The last samurai (tom cruise) and just realised how much the samurai code and HE genre are similar.

you have to fight them all in a tournament or sommat i presume?

well put at least the following units in your army:

20 spearmen

20 spearmen

10 archers

2 repeater bolt throwers (at least!)

since the armies you are facing are a bit wide in variaty i suggest you make a shooty army, that'll knock them off their feet biggrin.gif

(take a prince with one of the 2 magic bows) for prince / commander setups you can look into High elf tactics section (haldir's view of princes and haldir's view of commander's topics)

good luck!

Yes, since you are playing with 2000 points i suggest taking both RBTs and Eagles, especially if the tomb kings person has a screaming skull catapult wink.gif. Against khorne and beastmen, try to shoot most of their units away. If it is one large tournament, try to concentrate you RBT on cavalry units the chaos player may have. Also try to situate your self on good ground.

Also this will depend on what units that you currently have, as well as what you prefer in an army like a strong magic force of a more hard hitting army or a defensive one. I would suggest to go on the defensive, and let the other armies slaughter each other, the other two will definately consider Khorne as the greatest threat. Take care of the tomb kings leaders and the army will crumble. Beastmen.... well just don't let their magic get units behind your lines.

I agree with most of that, and certainly check out the tactics topics on Prince and Commander combinations.

One thing though, putting a magic bow on a prince seems a waste to me. He has the same BS skill as a commander but he can fight better, why sink points on a bow when you could be supped up for combat? Take the reaver bow on a commander, and consider putting him on an eagle, a chariot or even a horse so he can move fast.

For 2000 points two bolt throwers should be enough, no more or no less though. A couple of eagles are also extremely good. Then a base of spearmen and one (maximum) unit of archers. Swordmasters are also very good.

I would also suggest going with magic for defensive purposes only. Have a scroll cady or two and the item that allows you to take a power dice from your opponent for your dispel pool. You won't get any magic working against Khorne, and if you can shut down most of the TK magic you are in a very good position.

Other units, 5 strong silver helms are good for flanking and 6 dragon princes work well.
