Hey Guys
I have created a new army for the next tournamet and I want your opinion on it: Heroes= 734 General Thaihai Uritcoi = W 2/1/0 dispel scroll *2 = Yvraine, The princess of Ulthuan = W 2/1/0 Level 2, Elven Steed Seerstaff of Saphery Cyneyl luihara = W 2/1/0 Level 2, Elven Steed Ring of fury, Silver wand (Lothern Seaguards Unit) Elthnan Cadanath = = W 2/1/0 Armour Save 3+ Great Weapon, Dragon Armour, Barded Elven Steed, BSB, Magical Banner: Battle Banner (Dragon princes) Units Total = 1484 PPM/PPU 1. Spearmen Musician 2. Spearmen Musician 3. Sword masters of Hoeth 4. Sword masters of Hoeth 5. White Lion Chariot 6. Phoenix Guards [Keeper of Flame, Standard Bearer, Magical Banner, Banner of sorcery] 7. Dragon Princes of Caledor {Full command, Amulet of Light, Magical Banner: Banner of Ellyrion} 8. White Lion Chariot 9 Great Eagle 10. Great Eagle 11. Great Eagle 0 12. Great Eagle The main goal of this army is flank any unit in one try as well as create distractions to the opposing players by using the Great eagles as a means of forcing my opponents to failed their charges thus allowing my other untis such as the spaermen and the white lion chariots to hit with devastating force. The Sword masters are meant to increase the chances of the pheonix guards to win the combant with little effort. The dragon princes are meant to hit the sides of any unit and with the BSB and the Battle Banner they are almost ganranteed to win the combant phase. The wizards are meant to increase the chances of casting more than one spell at a time thus reducing the numbers. Now that this army is posted I want to know what you guys think about it? ![]() Points values removed /strewart |

Do not post points values. I am editing them out.
It looks like you have gone for magic heavy, so I cannt really see why you didn't upgrade the first mage to level 2 as well... There isn't much holding power, but it looks like na interesting list. |

You deleted the numbers in the units, strewart... that makes it harder to actually comment on the list. Besides, SOME points values are okay. For example, GW doesn't allow this:
But GW DOES allow this:
By the by - question for the OP: Don't you think you're making one too many completely different lists? It seems similar to a 'disease' I see all the time at my local shop that I like to call WADHD (Warhammer ADHD). When you build a list, you should really play it two or three times, analyze what you liked and dislike, and start making minor tweaks to it to figure out where you're going. For example, my Orc and Goblin army that I'm FINALLY painting (after it sitting in the closet for 7 years - some still in boxes) started off with a Blorc Warboss, a BSB, a unit of Blorcs, a couple units of Boyz, some units of Gobbos, 4 Spear Chukkas, 2 Doom Divers, a Great Squig Hero, a unit of Hoopers, and a Lvl 1 Shaman. After playing a few games, I realized that I wasn't often using the BSB effectively (when I lost combat, I lost so big that a re-roll was neglible, and when I won combat... hey, no Break Test anyway) - so the BSB went away. The Warboss went away and a Big Boss came to play, because I found that I was passing most of my tests on an 8 rather than his full 9. And then the Shaman was promoted to Great Shaman. Most of the rest of the list was the same. After a few more, I felt I wasn't using all 4 Chukkas or the Divers as much as I could - so they went away, paving the road for some more Squig Hoppers and Chariot mounts for the 2 Blorc Big Bosses I was running. As a few more games, I found that a Gobbo with Wallopa's One Hit Wunda and the Brimstone Bauble on a Chariot would be all around more useful than a Blorc Big Boss on Chariot, so I was down to one Blorc on Chariot and one Gobbo on Chariot. Now I'm deciding that the Blorcs haven't done much at all, other than carry Mork's Spirit Totem, which I was rarely using anyway. And my Magic could use a kick... so the Blorcs are turning into Spider Riders and Snotlings (they work wonders in a checkerboard formation - anchor 'em behind the Gobbos!), and my Gobbo Boss on Chariot is turning into a Shaman on Chariot with the Brimstone Bauble (cast for 2 turns... then let him suicide bomb into a unit - if his impact hits can win the day against a small unit of knights/whatever, great - if not, he explodes when the enemy inevitably attacks him, ideally taking them with him). So yes - I have a totally different list now... but it was an evolution that's taken 2-3 months to occur naturally. My advice: build a list. Stick with it for a while. Tweak it SLIGHTLY. Rinse and repeat. This post has been edited by Criti on Apr 23 2009, 08:59 PM -------------------- |

Hmm I did too, woops. I remember the spearmen were 15 in each unit, that is about it though.
I agree that it is better to make one list and stick to it. If you play the same list over and over you get to know it and how it works much better. |
