My list is already posted in the army list section:
http://z8.invisionfree.com/High_Elf_Forum/...topic=2253&st=0 Here what happened: Deployment: My spearmen were in the centre while the helms were on one flank and the swordmasters another. Both eagles were behind the spearmen. One mage set up near the swormasters and te other near the spearmen. Magic: For the High Mage I took Fury of Khaine and Vauls Unmaking. The Shadows Mage got Steed of Shadows, Pelt of Midnight and Shades of Death. Turn 1: WE: the Dryads went forward towards my spearmen and the other unit of them went for some woods. The Treeman came towards my swordmasters while the War Alter Noble headed that way too. I dispelled most of his magic but he did get Call of the Hunt on the Dryads, however it didn't bring them in charge range. His shooting was quite unlucky and only killed a spearmen and 2 swordmasters. HE: The Spearmen with the Commander and an eagle charged the dryads who hadn't been in range and my Silver Helms were just in range for a charge on the Riders of Kurnous (I passed my fear check). The Swqordmasters advanced while the eagle came forward as well to flank charge the Treemen or Commander if they went for the Swordmasters. In magic I cast Shades of Death of the Spearmen not in combat. Vauls Unmaking and Fury of Khaine were dispelled while casting steed of shadows and Pelt of Midninght was pointless. In Combat the silver helms killed two Wild Riders while not taking any casulties in return. The Riders passed there LD. The Commander issued a Challenge and caused two wounds. The spearmen killed another Dryad and the Eagle another one. The Dryads fled and were caught by the Eagle while the Spearmen held. Turn 2: WE: The Noble and Treeman both charged the Swordmasters and the other unit of Dryads charged the wounded eagle. Most of his Magic didn't cast and I dispelled the rest. In shooting he killed a few more Spearmen. The Treeman and Noble killed 3 Swordmasters taking no wounds in return. I won combat though, through ranks, banner etc. Both the Noble and Treeman passed their LD. The Silver Helms won combat again and the Wild Riders fled off the board while the Silver Helms only went 5" forwards. The Eagle took two wounds but caused two in return, passing his LD. HE: The charges this turn were the Spearmen on the Dryads and the Eagles into the flank of the Noble. The other Spearmen went towards a unit of Glade Guard and the Silver Helms went for them as well. My Magic was innefective. The spearmen beat the Dryads and the eagle caught them. The Swordmasters killed the Noble and the Treemen fled and was caught. Turn 3: WE: All he could do now was shoot and cast magic, both of which did next to nothing. HE: One unit of Glade Guard was similtaniously charged by Silver Helms, the Eagle and the Commander (through Steed of Shadows). The Combat was easily won and the Glade Guard went off the board. With only a Mage and a unit of Guard left he quit the game. My Man of the Match (or animal) were the eagles. Collectively they both must have at least won 300 Victory points, while I only paid 100 for both of them. -------------------- "Though our fair homeland is beset on all sides, we shall resist, as our forefathers did before you. Congratulation on the win and the Eagles!
I notice that you casted Vaul's Unmaking with 3 dices succesfully but dispelled. I prefer casting that spell with 5 dices (with Power Stone) to have a better chance and to be more difficult to dispel; or using the Ring of Corin. -------------------- |

Normally I don't take it. I only took it this time because I already had Fury of Khaine, he didn't have many large units to go for with Flames of the Phoenix and I had no shooting for Cuse of arrow attraction. I always forget though to use drain magic, only level 1 causes them to not get irressistable force.

First off, your Power Stone Mage was illegal. See your Army List topic for explanation.
Second off, why did you take a fear test to charge Wild Riders? They only charge fear when they charge and have a Musician in the unit...so why would you take one when charging them? - Criti -------------------- |

I thought you were allowed any number of stones or scrolls which can be combined with another arcane item. Also I din't use the power stone during the game anyway so it didn't make a difference. Secondly I thought Wild riders caused fear all the time.

You can have any number of Power Stones, yes...but the BRB stipulates that only SCROLLS can be taken in addition to another Arcane Item. Power Stones, unfortauntely, are classed as Arcane - not as Scrolls. Like I said in the other post, I hope it's something they change for 7th edition. And no, Wild Riders don't cause fear all the time. Only when they have a Musician and charge. Just because they have the Forest Spirit special rule doesn't mean they cause fear. - Criti -------------------- |
